This Instruction Manual provides handling information and precautions for use of the equipment. Incorrect handling might cause an unexpected fault.
Before using this product, always read this Instruction Manual carefully to use this product correctly.
Please forward this Instruction Manual to the end user.
This attachment is used to protrude the heat sink of an FR-E800 series inverter to the rear panel of an enclosure to
dissipate about 70% of the heat generated by the inverter.
The enclosure cut for the FR-E700 series inverter with the FR-E7CN (panel through attachment for the FR-E700 series
inverters) can be used for the FR-E8CN (additional enclosure cutting is required depending on the inverter model).
1. Applicable inverter
NOTE
When the FR-E7CN is used, the enclosure can be used for the FR-E8CN (additional enclosure cutting is required depending on
the inverter model). For details, refer to page 4.
When an FR-E700 series option unit is replaced with an FR-E800 series option unit, depth requirements outside and inside the
enclosure differ as shown in the table below.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION
While power is ON or for some time after power-OFF, do not touch the inverter and attachment since they are extremely
hot. Touching these devices may cause burns.
The product must be transported in correct method that corresponds to the weight. Failure to do so may lead to injuries.
Special attention must be paid to the edges of the product.
Foreign conductive objects must be prevented from entering the inverter. That includes screws and metal fragments or
other flammable substance such as oil.

2. Product confirmation and assembly example
(1) Check the attachment type.
(2) Check that the following parts are enclosed with the indicated quantities.
*1 Use the side covers for a rectangular cut that is made on an enclosure. Refer to page 3 for enclosure cut dimensions.

FR-E8CN01
*1 FR-E8CN02, 04 and 06 do not have side covers. Two A-type side covers are provided for both sides of the FR-E8CN03.
NOTE
To replace a cooling fan, remove "b upper cover" first, then replace the fan through the hole. (For the details, refer to the E800
Instruction Manual (Maintenance).)

CAUTION
To prevent injury, be careful with parts such as a metal sheets when installing or removing parts such as a fan
cover. It is recommended to use a tool such as a flathead screwdriver. To tighten or remove the fan cover
installation screw, it is recommended to use a tool such as an L-shaped screwdriver or a ratchet screwdriver.

3. Enclosure cut dimensions
Cut an enclosure to the following dimensions according to the inverter capacity.
The cutting procedure differs according to whether or not the enclosure has been cut for the FR-E7CN.
NOTE
The cooling section, which comes out of the enclosure, has a cooling fan. Because of this, this attachment cannot be used in an
environment with water drops, oil, mist, dust, etc.
Be careful not to drop screws, dust, etc. into the inverter and cooling fan section.
The panel through attachment is mounted to the inverter with about 1mm space between their mounting surfaces.

For the inverters shown in the following table, the enclosure used for the FR-E7CN can be used for the FR-E8CN
(additional enclosure cutting is required depending on the inverter model).
