Before Using the Product
Please read this document before use. Keep the document in a safe place for future
reference. Make sure that the end users read the document.
1. Operating Environment
1.1 MELSOFT Gemini
*1 Use a version that is currently supported by Microsoft.
*2 Select [Control Panel] [Programs] [Turn Windows features on or off] to enable
".NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)".
*3 It can be installed regardless of the OS language settings. However, the display
language of MELSOFT Gemini must be used in Japanese, English, or Chinese. In
other display languages, some of them are written in English. In addition, the
content of the help differs between Japanese/English/Chinese and other
languages.
It cannot be used via a remote desktop with a stand-alone license.
1.2 Network license server
When Windows Firewall is enabled, allow UDP traffic on the port used by the network
license server.
2. Installation
2.1 Confirmation before installation
• Log on to the personal computer as an administrator.
• Close all running applications before installation. If the product is installed while other
applications are running, it may not operate normally.
• Connect your computer to the Internet for activation or deactivation. If you have no
Internet connection, contact us using the contact information on the maintenance
agreement.
• For information on how to obtain the latest installer, contact us using the contact
information on the maintenance contract.
2.2 When using a network license
Install a network license server and authorize the network license. Place the personal
computer on which the network license server is installed in the same network as the
personal computer on which MELSOFT Gemini is used.
1. To install the network license server, double-click
"Support\NLS\SetupVcLicenseServer_X.X.X.exe" (X.X.X = version) in the DVD.
2. Select or enter the necessary information by following the on-screen instructions.
3. When the installation is complete, start the network license server and activate the
network license. For the activation procedure on the network license server, refer
to the network license server user's guide. The network license server user's guide
is located under "Support\NLS" in the DVD.
2.3 MELSOFT Gemini Installation
1. Double-click "GeminiSetup.exe" in the DVD.
2. Select or enter the necessary information by following the on-screen instructions.

4. Activation
Activate the license.
1. At first startup of MELSOFT Gemini, the activation guide opens.
2. Complete the activation by following the on-screen instructions. *1
*1 The product key of the stand-alone license is written on the "License agreement"
included in this product. Enter the 16 alphanumerics characters.
Precautions
If the time setting of the personal computer in which MELSOFT Gemini is installed and
activated is changed, or if the license cannot be activated due to network factors, the
activation guide opens again, and MELSOFT Gemini cannot be started.
This phenomenon also occurs if the time setting of the personal computer is changed
on the time server. If this phenomenon occurs, contact us using the contact information
on the maintenance agreement.
5. Deactivation
Deactivate the license.
1. Click the [FILE] tab to open the navigation window.
2. Click [Info] [License] in the navigation window.
3. Click the [Deactivate] button in "Commercial License Settings" to deactivate the
license.
6. Uninstallation
Uninstall MELSOFT Gemini from the control panel of Windows. *1
*1 When uninstalling MELSOFT Gemini, whether to deactivate it can be selected. If
you uninstall a stand-alone license without deactivating it, the license will not be
released and you will not be able to use it on other computers. In this case, you
can release the license by reinstalling MELSOFT Gemini and deactivating it.

1. 运行环境
1.1 MELSOFT Gemini
*1 请使用Microsoft的支持期间内的版本。
*2 选择[控制面板][程序][启用或关闭Windows功能]，将“.NET Framework 3.5 (
包括.NET 2.0 和 3.0)”设为有效。
*3 不论OS为何种语言都可以安装。但是，MELSOFT Gemini的显示语言必须以日语、英
语或中文使用。其他显示语言的部分表示法为英语。此外，日语、英语、中文和其
他语言的帮助内容也不同。
为独立许可证时，无法经由远程桌面使用。
1.2 网络许可证服务器
启用Windows防火墙时，请允许UDP通过网络许可证服务器使用的端口。
2. 安装步骤
2.1 安装前请确认
•安装至个人计算机时，请以“管理员”或“Administrator”权限的用户进行登录。
•安装前，请结束所有运行的应用程序。如果在其他应用程序运行的状态下进行安装，
有可能导致产品无法正常运行。
•激活及禁用时，请连接网络。无法连接网络时，请咨询维修合同中的咨询方式。
•最新版本安装程序的获取方法，请依照维修合同中的咨询方式进行咨询。
2.2 使用网络许可证时
安装网络许可证服务器，进行网络许可证的许可证认证。安装网络许可证服务器的个
人计算机，应与使用MELSOFT Gemini的个人计算机配置在相同网络内。
1. 安装网络许可证服务器时，双击DVD内的
“Support\NLS\SetupVcLicenseServer_X.X.X.exe”(X.X.X=版本)。
2. 按照画面的指示选择或输入必要事项。
3. 安装完成后，启动网络许可证服务器，激活网络许可证。网络许可证服务器的激活
步骤，请参阅网络许可证服务器用户指南。网络许可证服务器用户指南存储在DVD
的“Support\NLS”中。
2.3 MELSOFT Gemini的安装步骤
1. 双击DVD内的“GeminiSetup.exe”。
2. 按照画面的指示选择或输入必要事项。

4. 激活
进行许可证认证。

注意事项
更改安装并激活了MELSOFT Gemini的个人计算机的时间时，或者由于网络原因无法激
活，将重新显示激活向导，无法启动MELSOFT Gemini。该现象在通过时间服务器更改计
算机的时间时也会发生。发生该现象时，请咨询维修合同中的咨询方式。
5. 禁用
解除许可证认证。
1. 点击[文件]标签，显示导航窗口。
2. 点击导航窗口的[信息][许可]。
3. 点击“商务许可设置”的[禁用]可以解除许可证认证。
6. 卸载步骤
应通过Windows的控制面板进行卸载。*1
*1 卸载时可以选择禁用。如果在不取消暗区的情况下卸载独立许可证，则不会释放许
可证，并且该许可证将在其他计算机上不可用。您可以通过重新安装MELSOFT
Gemini并执行暗区来释放许可证。
