Diese Gebrauchsanweisung gibt Ihnen wichtige Informationen zur Verwendung, Einstellung und

Handhabung des Produkts.

Nehmen Sie das Produkt nur gemäß den Informationen in den mitgelieferten Begleitdokumenten

in Betrieb.

2 Produktbeschreibung

2.1 Funktion

Der Schutzrahmen ermöglicht die funktionelle und optische Verkleidung des elektronischen Knie

gelenks C-Leg. Das Gehäuse des Kniegelenks wird durch den Schutzrahmen, im umrahmten Be

reich, vor äußeren Einflüssen wie z.B. Kratzern, oberflächlichen Verschmutzungen geschützt.

Der Schutzrahmen ist an der Vorderseite offen. Für die einwandfreie und sichere Funktion des

Gelenks ist der Schutzrahmen nicht erforderlich. Um eine komplette Umrahmung des Kniege

lenks zu erhalten, muss in den Schutzrahmen vorne die Schutzblende 4P863=* eingesetzt wer

den.

2.2 Kombinationsmöglichkeiten

Nachfolgend sind Prothesenkomponenten aufgeführt, die sich zur Kombination mit dem Produkt

eignen.

3 Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung

3.1 Verwendungszweck

Das Produkt ist ausschließlich für die exoprothetische Versorgung der unteren Extremität einzu

setzen.

3.2 Einsatzbedingungen

Das Produkt wurde für Alltagsaktivitäten entwickelt und darf nicht für außergewöhnliche Tätigkei

ten wie zum Beispiel Extremsportarten (Freiklettern, Paragleiten, etc.) eingesetzt werden.

3.3 Kontraindikationen

• Alle Bedingungen, die den Angaben im Kapitel „Sicherheit“ und "Bestimmungsgemäße Ver

wendung" widersprechen oder darüber hinausgehen.

4 Sicherheit

5 Lieferumfang und Zubehör

5.1 Lieferumfang

• 1 St. Schutzrahmen für C-Leg 4P862

• 1St. Gebrauchsanweisung (Fachpersonal)

5.2 Zubehör

Folgende Komponenten können bei Bedarf zusätzlich bestellt werden:

• 1St. Schutzblende 4P863=*

6 Gebrauch

1) Die Verschlüsse am Schutzrahmen öffnen.

2) Den Schutzrahmen aufdehnen.

3) Den Schutzrahmen von vorne über das Kniegelenk stülpen (siehe Abb.1).

4) Den Schutzrahmen mit beiden Händen zusammendrücken (siehe Abb.2).

INFORMATION: Die Halteelemente (Detail, siehe Abb.2) des Schutzrahmens müssen

am Rahmenelement des Kniegelenks einrasten.

5) Die beiden Verschlüsse schließen (siehe Abb.3).

Bei Verwendung der optionalen Schutzblende müssen zusätzlich folgende Schritte durchgeführt

werden:

►Die Schutzblende von vorne in die Ausnehmung des Schutzrahmens schieben und einrasten

lassen (siehe Abb.4).

HINWEIS

Stabilitätsverlust durch ungenügend angelegte Halteelemente

Kein Halt des Schutzrahmens am Kniegelenk.

►Achten Sie darauf, dass alle Halteelemente und Verschlüsse ordnungsgemäß eingerastet

bzw. geschlossen sind.

6.1 Schutzblende individualisieren

VORSICHT

Lackierung der Schutzblende

Sturz durch unerwartetes Verhalten des Produkts infolge veränderten Dämpfungsverhaltens.

►Verwenden Sie ausschließlich Lacke, die keine elektrisch leitfähigen Partikel enthalten bzw.

nicht magnetisierbar sind. Dazu zählen Lacke, die frei von metallischen Additiven sind (rei

ner Kunststofflack).

►Im Zweifel fragen Sie im Fachhandel nach, ob der Lack Additive enthält.

►Achten Sie darauf, dass Lacke verwendet werden, die keinen negativen Einfluss auf Men

schen und ihre Umgebung haben.

►Es gibt Lacke mit Lösungsmittelanteilen, die während der Verarbeitung schädliche Dämpfe

erzeugen. Beachten Sie hierzu die Angaben des Herstellers.

►Nach der Trocknung ist der Lack unbedenklich.

1) Die individualisierbare Schutzblende 4P863=4 reinigen und entfetten (z.B. mit Hesse-Lignal

NV 395)

2) Die Außenfläche der Schutzblende mit einem Haftvermittler für Polycarbonat (z.B. Hesse-Li

gnal Haftgrund TG 5250) nach dessen Verarbeitungsvorschrift vorbehandeln.

Der verwendete Haftvermittler gibt vor, welcher Lack für die Lackierung verwendet werden

kann.

INFORMATION: Um ein optimales Lackierergebnis zu erreichen, die Verarbeitungsvor

schrift des ausgewählten Lacks einhalten.

6.2 Funktionskontrolle

INFORMATION

Alle in diesem Kapitel beschriebenen Punkte dürfen ausschließlich vom Fachpersonal durchge

führt werden.

Im Anschluss an die Montage müssen folgende Punkte kontrolliert werden:

• Beträgt der Abstand zwischen Schaft und Schutzrahmen mindestens 5mm?

• Ist die Funktion des Drehadapters beeinträchtigt?

Zur Verbesserung der Funktionalität kann Material vom Schutzrahmen entfernt werden.

INFORMATION: Wird Material entfernt, kann es zu einer Beeinträchtigung der Stabili

tät/Flexibilität des Schutzrahmens am Kniegelenk kommen.

7 Wartung

►Das Produkt während der standardmäßigen Überprüfung der Prothesenpassteile mitüberprü

fen.

7.1 Reinigung und Pflege

HINWEIS

Unsachgemäße Pflege des Produkts

Beschädigung des Produkts durch Verwendung falscher Reinigungsmittel.

►Reinigen Sie das Produkt ausschließlich mit einem feuchten Tuch und milder Seife (z.B.

Ottobock DermaClean 453H10=1-N).

1) Das Produkt mit einem feuchten, weichen Tuch reinigen.

2) Das Produkt mit einem weichen Tuch abtrocknen.

3) Die Restfeuchtigkeit an der Luft trocknen lassen.

8 Rechtliche Hinweise

8.1 Haftung

Der Hersteller haftet, wenn das Produkt gemäß den Beschreibungen und Anweisungen in diesem

Dokument verwendet wird. Für Schäden, die durch Nichtbeachtung dieses Dokuments, insbe

The "4P862 C-Leg Guard" will hereon be referred to as the guard/product.

These instructions for use provide you with important information on the use, adaptation and

handling of the product.

Only put the product into use in accordance with the information contained in the accompanying

documents supplied.

2 Product description

2.1 Function

The guard functionally and visually sheaths the C-Leg electronic knee joint. In the covered area,

the guard protects the housing of the knee joint against external influences suchas scratching

and surface contamination. The guard is open on the front. The guard is not required for the prop

er and safe functioning of the joint. To fully sheathe the knee joint, the 4P863=* shield insert has

to be used at the front.

2.2 Combination possibilities

Prosthetic components that are suited for combination with the product are listed below.

3 Intended use

3.1 Indications for use

The product is to be used solely for lower limb exoprosthetic fittings.

3.2 Conditions of use

The product was developed for everyday use and must not be used for unusual activities such as

extreme sports (free climbing, paragliding, etc.).

3.3 Contraindications

• All conditions which contradict or go beyond the specifications listed in the section on

"Safety" and "Indications for use".

5 Scope of Delivery and Accessories

5.1 Scope of delivery

5.2 Accessories

The following components can be ordered separately as needed:

• 1pc. 4P863=* shield insert

6 Use

1) Open the closures on the guard.

2) Spread open the guard.

3) Put the guard over the knee joint from the front (see fig.1).

4) Squeeze the guard together with both hands (see fig.2).

INFORMATION: The retainers (detail, see fig.2) of the guard have to engage on the

frame element of the knee joint.

5) Fasten the two closures (see fig.3).

If the optional shield insert is used, the following steps must also be completed:

►Slide the shield insert into the recess of the guard from the front and let it engage (see fig.4).

NOTICE

Loss of stability due to inadequately installed retainers

No hold of the guard on the knee joint.

►Ensure that all retainers and closures are properly engaged and/or fastened.

6.1 Customising the shield insert

CAUTION

Painting the shield insert

Falling due to unexpected product behaviour caused by changed damping behaviour.

►Only use paints that do not contain any electrically conductive particles and cannot be mag

netised. This includes paints that are free of metallic additives (pure synthetic paints).

►In case of doubt, ask your specialist dealer whether the paint contains additives.

►Ensure that the paints being used have no negative influence on people and their environ

ment.

►Some paints contain solvents that release harmful vapours during processing. Observe the

information provided by the manufacturer.

►The paint is safe after it has dried.

1) Clean and degrease the 4P863=4 customisable shield insert (e.g. with Hesse-Lignal NV 395).

2) Pre-treat the outer surface of the shield insert with a bonding agent for polycarbonates (e.g.

Hesse-Lignal TG 5250 adhesive primer) according to the processing instructions for the

bonding agent.

The bonding agent being used specifies which paint can be used for painting.

INFORMATION: Follow the processing instructions for the chosen paint to obtain

optimal painting results.

6.2 Functional Test

INFORMATION

All of the points described in this section must be completed exclusively by qualified personnel.

After assembly, the following points have to be checked:

• Is the distance between the socket and guard at least 5mm?

• Is the function of the rotation adapter impaired?

Material may be removed from the guard to improve the functionality.

INFORMATION: If material is removed, the stability/flexibility of the guard on the knee

joint may be impaired.

7 Maintenance

►During the standard inspection of the prosthesis components, also inspect the product.

7.1 Cleaning and Care

NOTICE

Improper product care

Damage to the product due to the use of incorrect cleaning agents.

►Only clean the product with a damp cloth and mild soap (e.g. 453H10=1-N Ottobock Der

maClean).

1) Clean the product with a damp, soft cloth.

2) Dry the product with a soft cloth.

3) Allow to air dry in order to remove residual moisture.

2 Description du produit

2.1 Fonctionnement

Cet habillage constitue une protection fonctionnelle et esthétique de l’articulation de genou élec

tronique C-Leg. La zone de l’articulation de genou enveloppée par l’habillage de protection est

ainsi préservée de toute détérioration extérieure telleque les rayures et les salissures en surface.

La face avant de l’habillage de protection est ouverte. Il n’est pas nécessaire d’utiliser l’habillage

de protection pour un fonctionnement parfait et fiable de l’articulation. Pour un habillage complet

de l’articulation de genou, l’utilisation du Shield Insert 4P863=* à l’avant est nécessaire.

5 Fournitures et accessoires

5.1 Contenu de la livraison

5.2 Accessoires

Les composants suivants peuvent, si nécessaire, être également commandés:

• 1 Shield Insert 4P863=*

6 Utilisation

1) Ouvrez les fermetures de l’habillage de protection.

2) Écartez l’habillage de protection.

3) Posez par l’avant l’habillage de protection sur l’articulation de genou (voir ill.1).

4) Pressez l’habillage de pression avec vos deux mains (voir ill.2).

INFORMATION: Les éléments de fixation (détail, voir ill.2) de l’habillage de protection

doivent s’enclencher au niveau de l’élément du cadre de l’articulation de genou.

5) Fermez les deux fermetures (voir ill.3).

Si vous utilisez le Shield Insert, vous devez également effectué les étapes suivantes:

►Insérez et enclenchez, par l’avant, le Shield Insert dans le creux de l’habillage de protection

(voir ill.4).

AVIS

Perte de stabilité due à des éléments de fixation non correctement posés

►Veillez à ce que tous les éléments de fixation et les fermetures soient correctement enclen

chés ou fermés.

6.1 Personnalisation du rabat de protection

PRUDENCE

Application de laque sur le rabat de protection

Chute occasionnée par un comportement inattendu du produit à la suite d’un comportement

d’amortissement modifié.

►Utiliser uniquement une laque qui ne contient aucune particule conductrice ou qui n’est pas

aimantable. Il s’agit notamment de laques qui ne contiennent aucun additif métallique (laque

pour plastique pure).

►En cas de doute, demander au revendeur spécialisé si la laque contient des additifs.

►Veiller à utiliser des laques qui n’ont aucun impact négatif sur les personnes et leur environ

nement.

►Certaines laques contiennent des solvants qui génèrent des vapeurs nocives pendant leur

mise en œuvre. Respecter à ce sujet les consignes du fabricant.

►Une fois sèche, la laque ne présente aucun danger pour la santé.

1) Nettoyer et dégraisser (p. ex. avec Hesse-Lignal NV 395) le rabat de protection personnali

sable 4P863=4.

2) Traiter au préalable la surface externe du rabat de protection avec un agent adhésif (p. ex. ap

prêt Hesse-Lignal TG 5250) en respectant ses consignes d’utilisation.

L’agent adhésif utilisé définit la laque qui peut être utilisée.

INFORMATION: Pour un laquage parfait, respecter les consignes d’utilisation de la

laque sélectionnée.

6.2 Contrôle du fonctionnement

INFORMATION

Seul un personnel qualifié est autorisé à exécuter tous les points décrits dans ce chapitre.

Une fois le montage terminé, les points suivants doivent être contrôlés:

• L’écart entre l’emboîture et l’habillage de protection est-il de 5 mm minimum?

• Le fonctionnement de l’adaptateur rotatif est-il altéré?

Il est possible de retirer de la matière de l’habillage de protection pour améliorer le fonction

nement.

INFORMATION: tout retrait de matière peut provoquer une atteinte à la stabilité/sou

plesse de l’habillage de protection posé sur l’articulation de genou.

7 Maintenance

►Effectuez un contrôle du produit au cours du contrôle habituel des composants prothétiques.

7.1 Nettoyage et entretien

Dégradation du produit due à l’utilisation de détergents inadaptés.

►Nettoyez le produit uniquement avec un chiffon humide et un savon doux (p. ex. Ottobock

DermaClean 453H10=1-N).

1) Nettoyez le produit à l’aide d’un chiffon doux humide.

2) Séchez le produit à l’aide d’un chiffon doux.

3) Laissez sécher l’humidité résiduelle à l’air.

2 Descrizione del prodotto

2.1 Funzionamento

Il telaio protettivo è destinato al rivestimento funzionale e cosmetico del ginocchio elettronico C-

Leg. L'alloggiamento del ginocchio viene protetto dal telaio protettivo, nell'area coperta dal tela

io, soprattutto dagli agenti esterni come ades. graffi e sporcizia in superficie. Il telaio protettivo è

aperto sul lato anteriore. Il telaio protettivo non è necessario per il funzionamento corretto e sicuro

del ginocchio. Affinché il ginocchio sia completamente incorniciato occorre inserire nel telaio pro

tettivo anteriore il Shield Insert 4P863=*.

5 Fornitura e accessori

5.1 Fornitura

• 1libretto d'istruzioni per l'uso (personale tecnico specializzato)

5.2 Accessori

I seguenti componenti possono essere ordinati separatamente, se necessari:

• 1 Shield Insert 4P863=* (parastinco)

6 Utilizzo

1) Aprire le chiusure sul telaio protettivo.

2) Tendere il telaio protettivo.

3) Applicare il telaio dal davanti sul ginocchio (v. fig.1).

4) Comprimere con entrambe le mani il telaio (v. fig.2).

INFORMAZIONE: Gli elementi di tenuta (dettaglio, v. fig.2) del telaio protettivo devo

no agganciarsi all'elemento del telaio del ginocchio.

5) Chiudere le due chiusure (v. fig.3).

Se si utilizza il Shield Insert opzionale bisogna eseguire anche le seguenti operazioni:

►Spingere dal davanti il Shield Insert nell'apertura del telaio protettivo finché si blocca in sede

(v. fig.4).

AVVISO

Perdita di stabilità a causa di elementi di tenuta posizionati erroneamente

Il telaio protettivo non aderisce al ginocchio.

►Osservare che tutti gli elementi di tenuta e le chiusure siano inseriti o chiusi correttamente.

6.1 Personalizzazione del parastinco

CAUTELA

Verniciatura del parastinco

Caduta per comportamento inatteso del prodotto a seguito di cambiamento dell'azione ammor

tizzante.

►Utilizzare esclusivamente una vernice senza particelle elettricamente conduttive e senza par

ticelle magnetizzabili. Questo tipo di vernice comprende anche vernici prive di additivi metal

lici (vernice puramente sintetica).

►In caso di dubbio chiedere al rivenditore specializzato, se la vernice contiene additivi.

►Controllare che la vernice utilizzata non abbia influssi negativi sulle persone e sul loro am

biente.

►Esistono vernici con percentuali di solvente, che emettono vapori dannosi durante la lavora

zione. Osservare le indicazioni in merito del fabbricante.

►Una volta asciugata la vernice non è più dannosa.

1) Pulire e sgrassare il parastinco personalizzabile 4P863=4 (ad es. con Hesse-Lignal NV 395)

2) Trattare la superficie esterna del parastinco con un prodotto dotato di buone proprietà adesi

ve per il policarbonato (ad es. primer Hesse-Lignal TG 5250) seguendo le relative istruzioni

per la lavorazione.

Il prodotto adesivo definisce quale vernice deve essere utilizzata per la verniciatura.

INFORMAZIONE: Al fine di ottenere un risultato di verniciatura ottimale, rispettare le

istruzioni per la lavorazione della vernice scelta.

6.2 Verifica del funzionamento

INFORMAZIONE

Tutti i punti descritti in questo capitolo devono essere eseguiti esclusivamente da personale tec

nico specializzato.

Al termine del montaggio occorre controllare i seguenti punti:

• La distanza tra l'invasatura e il telaio protettivo è di almeno 5 mm?

• Il rotatore funziona ancora correttamente?

Per migliorare il funzionamento è possibile rimuovere del materiale dal telaio protettivo.

INFORMAZIONE: se si rimuove del materiale si potrebbero pregiudicare la stabili

tà/flessibilità del telaio protettivo sul ginocchio.

7 Manutenzione

►Controllare il prodotto durante la verifica standard dei componenti protesici.

7.1 Pulizia e cura

Danni al prodotto dovuti all'utilizzo di detergenti non appropriati.

►Pulire il prodotto esclusivamente con un panno umido e sapone delicato (ad es. Ottobock

DermaClean453H10=1-N).

1) Pulire il prodotto con un panno morbido e umido.

2) Asciugare il prodotto con un panno morbido.

3) Lasciare asciugare l'umidità rimanente all'aria.
