Safety instructions
General Power Tool Safety Warnings
WARNING Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure
to follow the warnings and instructions may result in
electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (cor-
ded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
Work area safety
uKeep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite acci-
dents.
uDo not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the
presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create
sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
uKeep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool.
Distractions can cause you to lose control.
Electrical safety
uPower tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any
way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power
tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric
shock.
uAvoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as
pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of
electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
uDo not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a
power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
uDo not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or un-
plugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges

or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of elec-
tric shock.
uWhen operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suit-
able for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the
risk of electric shock..
uIf operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a re-
sidual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces
the risk of electric shock.
Personal safety
uStay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when
operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or
under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inat-
tention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
uUse personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection.
Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard
hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce
personal injuries.
uPrevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-posi-
tion before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking
up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the
switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites acci-
dents.
uRemove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool
on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool
may result in personal injury.
uDo not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This
enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
uDress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your
hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jew-
ellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
uIf devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and col-
lection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use
of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
Power tool use and care
uDo not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your ap-
plication. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the
rate for which it was designed.
uDo not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off.
Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous
and must be repaired.
uDisconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack
from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing ac-
cessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures re-
duce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
uStore idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow
persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to oper-
ate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained
users.
uMaintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving
parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the
power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired be-
fore use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
uKeep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools
with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
uUse the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with
these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and
the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations differ-
ent from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
Battery tool use and care
uRecharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A
charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of
fire when used with another battery pack.
uUse power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. Use
of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.
uWhen battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal ob-
jects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal
objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another.
Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.

uUnder abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery;
avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If li-
quid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected
from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
Service
uHave your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only
identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the
power tool is maintained.
Safety information for screwdrivers
uUse suitable detectors to determine if there are hidden supply lines
or contact the local utility company for assistance. Contact with elec-
tric cables can cause fire and electric shock. Damaging gas lines can lead
to explosion. Breaking water pipes causes property damage.
uHold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces, when performing an
operation where the fastener may contact hidden wiring. Fasteners
contacting a "live" wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool
"live" and could give the operator an electric shock.
uHold the power tool securely. When tightening and loosening screws be
prepared for temporarily high torque reactions.
uSecure the workpiece. A workpiece clamped with clamping devices or in
a vice is held more secure than by hand.
uAlways wait until the power tool has come to a complete stop before
placing it down. The application tool can jam and cause you to lose con-
trol of the power tool.
Protect the power tool against heat, e.g. against con-
tinuous intense sunlight, fire, water, and moisture.
There is a risk of explosion.
uBefore any work on the tool (e.g. maintenance, tool change etc.) as
well as during transport and storage, set the rotational direction
switch to the middle position. There is risk of injury from unintentionally
pressing the on/off switch.
Safety instructions for chargers
uThis charger is not intended for use by chil-
dren or persons with physical, sensory or
mental limitations or a lack of experience or
knowledge. This charger can be used by
children aged 8 or older and by persons who
have physical, sensory or mental limitations
or a lack of experience or knowledge if a
person responsible for their safety super-
vises them or has instructed them in the
safe operation of the charger and they un-
derstand the associated dangers. Otherwise,
there is a risk of operating errors and injuries.
uSupervise children during use, cleaning and
maintenance. This will ensure that children do
not play with the charger.
Do not expose the charger to rain or wet conditions. Water enter-
ing a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
uCharge the power tool only with the supplied charger.
uKeep the charger clean. Dirt poses a risk of electric shock.
uAlways check the charger, cable and plug before use. Stop using the
charger if you discover any damage. Do not open the charger your-
self, and have it repaired only by a qualified specialist using only ori-
ginal replacement parts. Damaged chargers, cables and plugs increase
the risk of electric shock.

Fitting
uBefore any work on the tool (e.g. maintenance, tool change etc.) as
well as during transport and storage, set the rotational direction
switch to the middle position. There is risk of injury from unintentionally
pressing the on/off switch.
Charging the battery (see figure A)
uNote the mains voltage! The voltage of the power source must match
the voltage specified on the rating plate of the charger. Chargers marked
with 230V can also be operated with 220V.
uDo not use any other charger. The supplied charger is matched to the
lithium-ion battery that is fitted in your power tool.
Note: The battery is supplied partially charged. To ensure full battery capa-
city, fully charge the battery in the charger before using your power tool for
the first time.
The lithium-ion battery can be charged at any time without reducing its ser-
vice life. Interrupting the charging process does not damage the battery.
The lithium-ion battery is protected against deep discharge by the "Elec-
tronic Cell Protection (ECP)". When the battery is discharged, the power
tool is switched off by means of a protective circuit: The application tool no
longer rotates.
uDo not continue to press the On/Off switch after the power tool has
automatically switched off. The battery can be damaged.
If the battery charge indicator (4) lights up red when you press the On/Off
switch (7) half way in, the remaining battery capacity is less than 30% and
the battery should be charged.
To charge the battery, plug the charging cable (13) into the port (12) on the
bottom of the handle and into the charger (14). Then plug the mains cable of
the charger (14) into the mains socket.
The charging process is interrupted when the on/off switch (7) is fully
pressed.
The battery charge indicator (4) indicates the charging progress. The indic-
ator flashes green during the charging process. When the battery is fully
charged, the battery charge indicator (4) is continuously lit green.
During the charging process, the handle of the power tool will heat up. This
is normal. If you are not planning to use the power tool again soon, discon-
nect the charger from the mains. The power tool cannot be used during the
charging process. It is not defective if it does not work during the charging
process. Follow the instructions on correct disposal.
uProtect the charger against moisture.
Changing the tool (see figure B)
uDo not use two-sided screwdriver blades that are longer than 25mm.
Insert the screwdriver bit (1) directly into the tool holder (2).
Switching on the worklight (see figure C)
By turning the rubber cap (3), you can set the worklight (10) to focused or
diffused light as required. Remove the rubber cap by pulling it towards
you and place it back on the tool holder (2) with the appropriate lens.
Off-set Angle Adapter/Angle Screw Adapter/Torque Setting
Adapter (see figures C–F)
You can drive in screws close to edges using the off-set angle adapter (15).
The angle screw adapter (16) enables you to drive screws in hard-to-reach
areas.
The torque presetting ring (18) on the torque setting adapter (17) can be
used to pre-select the required torque in 10 stages. When the correct set-
ting is used, the bit will be stopped as soon as the screw is driven flush into
the material or as soon as the set torque has been reached.
Fitting (see figures C–D)
To fit the adapters, pull off the rubber cap (3) towards you. Then the ad-
apters can be attached. It is possible to fit an adapter offset by 45°.

Removal (see figures E–F)
To remove an adapter, turn the unlocking ring (20) in rotational direction
and pull the adapter off towards you. Then reattach the rubber cap (3).
Operation
Start-up
Setting the rotational direction
The rotational direction switch (5) is used to change the rotational direction
of the power tool. However, this is not possible while the on/off switch (7) is
being pressed.
uDo not use the rotational direction switch (5) when the power tool is
in operation, as this may damage it.
Clockwise rotation: To drive in screws, slide the rotational direction switch
(5) forward to the stop.
Anti-clockwise rotation: To loosen or unscrew screws, slide the rotational
direction switch (5) backwards.
Switching on/off
To start the power tool, press and hold the on/off switch (7).
The lamp lights up when the on/off switch (7) is lightly or fully pressed,
meaning that the work area is illuminated in poor lighting conditions.
To switch off the power tool, release the on/off switch (7).
Fully automatic spindle lock (Auto-Lock)
The drill spindle, and therefore the tool holder, are locked when the on/off
switch (7) is not pressed.
This allows screws to be driven in even when the battery is discharged and
enables the power tool to be used as a screwdriver.
uIf the drill spindle is blocked, do not press the on/off switch (7) for
longer than 15 seconds. Otherwise, the power tool may become dam-
aged.
Practical advice
uOnly apply the power tool to the screw/nut when the tool is switched
off. Rotating tool inserts can slip off.
Maintenance and Service
Maintenance and cleaning
uBefore any work on the tool (e.g. maintenance, tool change etc.) as
well as during transport and storage, set the rotational direction
switch to the middle position. There is risk of injury from unintentionally
