Escapinggas may cause an explosion.
If yousmell gas or notice any faults in the gas
installation:
Immediately shutoff thegas supply.
Immediately extinguish all nakedflames and
cigarettes.
Do notturn on or turn offany lightorappliance
switches anddonot pull any plugsoutof
sockets.Donot use any telephones or mobile
phones within thebuilding.
Open windows andventilate theroom.
Call theafter-sales service or thegas supplier.
Warning -Riskofasphyxiation!
The use of agascookerleads to abuild-up of heat,
moisture andproductsofcombustionin theroom
where theappliance is installed.Ensure that the
installation room is well ventilated. The natural
ventilation openings must be kept open or a
mechanical ventilation device must be provided (e.g.
an extractor hood). Intensive andpersistent useof the
appliance maymean that it is necessarytohave
additional ventilation (e.g. openingawindow),ormore
effective ventilation(e.g. operatingthe existing
mechanical ventilation device at a higher setting).
Warning -Riskoffire!
Hotoil andfat can ignite very quickly. Never
leave hotfat or oil unattended.Never use water
to putout burning oilor fat. Switch offthe
hotplate. Extinguish flames carefully usingalid,
fire blanket or something similar.
The hotplatesbecomevery hot. Neverplace
combustible items on thehob. Never place
objectson thehob.
The appliance becomes very hotand flammable
materials couldcatch fire.Never storeor use
flammable objects(e.g.spray cans, cleaning
agents) underthe appliance or in its immediate
vicinity. Never placeflammableitems on or in the
appliance.
When gashot platesare in operation without
any cookware placedonthem, they can buildup
a lotofheat. The appliance and the extractor
hood aboveitmay become damagedorbe set
on fire.Greaseresidueinthe filter of the
extractor hood mayignite. Only operate thegas
burners with cookware on them.
If theburner does notignite after15seconds,
switchoff thecontrol knob and open thedooror
window in theroom.Wait at least1minute
before igniting theburner again.

The appliance becomeshotduringoperation.
Allowthe appliance to cool down before
cleaning.
The hotplates andsurroundingarea(particularly
the hobsurround, if fitted) become very hot.
Never touch thehot surfaces. Keepchildren at a
safe distance.
The accessibleparts become very hotwhen in

When theappliance cover is closed,heatwill
accumulate.Only closethe appliance cover
when theappliance has cooled down. Never
switchthe appliance on with theappliance cover

or use it to keep food warm.
Empty cookware becomesextremely hotwhen
set on agashotplatethatis in operation. Never
heat up emptycookware.

-Risk of heat damageto adjacent appliances or

Additional ventilation is required.Openthe window or
switch on an extractor hood that discharges the

up of heat: Do notheat roasters, fryingpansor grill
stones usingmore than oneburneratatime.
-Malfunction: Always turn thecontrol knob to the"Off"
position when theappliance is notbeing used.

Saving energy
Choose a burner of roughly thesamesizeasyour
pan. Place thecookwareinthe middle.
Use small saucepansfor small quantities. Using a
large saucepan withlittle in it consumes a lot of
energy.
Always placesuitable lids on saucepans.Cooking
without a lid consumes significantly more energy.Use
aglass lid so that youcan seeintothe panwithout
having to lift thelid.
Cook with only alittle water.This will saveenergy and
preserve thevitamins andminerals in vegetables.
Switchtoalower heat settingingoodtime.This will
saveenergy.

Individual partsof the wok burner
Ensure that theindividualparts of thewok burner are fitted
in thecorrectpositionand arestraight;otherwise,thismay
result in ignitionproblems or problems duringoperation.Fit
theburnerhead such that thethermocoupleispositioned
in thecorresponding recess on theburnerhead.The lugon
theburner ringmustengage in thecorresponding recess
on theburnerhead.

Operating the appliance
Notes
-Only usethe accessories specified.Donot line the
stainless steelrecess(e.g. withaluminium foil).
-Theburnerand ignition plug must be cleanand dry.

-Do not touchthe ignitionplugwhile thegas

-It is important to keep theappliance clean. lf the
ignitionplugs aredirty,thismaycauseignition
problems.Cleanthe ignitionplugs regularly witha
small, non-metallicbrush.Takecare to preventthe
ignitionplugs from sufferingany heavy knocks.
-Whenyou cook usingawok, placethe wok ring onto
thepan support over thewok burner.Makesurethat
thewok is stable on thewok ring when you are
cooking.
-Do notcoverthe ventilationopeningson therear of
thegas hob. Lack of ventilationwill result in damage
to thehob.
-Whenthe gascooktop is switched on,the electronics
open up thegas supply, whichproduces ashort
sound. This is normal.
-In theevent of a powerfailure,the appliance will not
work.The gassupplyis shut off.
Switching on
Your gashob hasan automaticquick-ignitionfunction.
1. Placeasuitable item of cookwareonthe pansupport.
2. Push in thecontrol knob andturnitclockwise or anti-
clockwisetothe heat settingyou require.
Theburnerignites automatically.
Turn thecontrol knob to setthe heat setting.
Warning Risk of deflagration!
If theburnerdoes not ignite after 15 seconds, switch off
thecontrol knob andopenthe door or windowin theroom.
Wait at least 1minutebeforeignitingthe burner again.
Simmer setting
With thesimmer setting, theburnerswitchesthe gas flame
on andoff.Thisallows youtomeltchocolateorheat up
delicatesauces, for example.
Turn thecontrol knob to .It takes 10-50seconds to
switch on or off.
Electronic flame monitoring and
automatic re-ignition
For your safety, thehob hasanelectronicflamemonitoring
system. If theflamegoes outwhile thehob is in use(e.g.
duetoadraught), theappliance will automatically re-ignite
theburner.
If re-ignitionisunsuccessful (e.g.because liquidor food
has boiled over andremainsonthe burner), theappliance
will switch off thegas supply. Theilluminatedringbehind
thecontrol knob will flash.
Turn thecontrol knob to 0. Wait until theappliance is cool
enough andthencheck whetherall theburnerpartsare in
thecorrect position. Checkwhethertheburneror the
ignitionplugare coveredinfoodremnantsetc. "Trouble

Switching off
Turn thecontrol knob to position 0. Theappliance
electronics will shut off thegas supply.
Warning Risk of burns!
Whenthe appliancecover (optional accessory)isclosed,
heat will accumulate.Onlyclosethe appliance coverwhen
theappliance hascooled down.Never switch theappliance
on with theappliance coverclosed.Donot rest food on the
appliance coveroruse it to keep food warm.
Residualheat indicator
Theluminousdisc behind thecontrol knob flashes after
switchingoff,to indicate that theappliance hasstill not
cooled down to such an extent that it canbetouched
safely.
Safetyshut-off
For your safety, theappliance hasasafetyshut-off function.
Theapplianceisautomatically switched offif it hasbeenin
operationfor an extended period.How long theappliance
waits before switching itselfoffdepends on thesetting
(setting 12 =1hour,setting 1=4hours). Theilluminated
ringbehindthe control knob will flash orange andwhite
alternately.
Turn thecontrol knob to 0. Youwill nowbeabletostart the
appliance againasusual.

Thevaluesgiven in thesettings table must be lookedupon
as recommendedvalues.The heat required dependsnot
only on thetype andconditionofthe food,but also thesize
andcontents of thepot.
Dueto thehighperformance of thecooktop,fat andoil will
heat up quickly. Neverleave thecooktop unattended, fat
canignite, food canburn.
Tips for using a wok
Note: When youcook usingawok,place thewok ring onto
thepan support over thewok burner.Makesurethatthe
wok is stable on thewok ring when you arecooking.
We recommendusing woks withadomedbase.You can
order ahigh-quality wok as an optional accessory (WP400
001).
Whencooking withthe wok,use only cookingoil that is
suitable forheating to high temperatures,suchas
groundnut oil.
Cook theingredients at a high heat,while stirring
constantly.Donot cook them for too long.The vegetables
should be al dente.
For stirringthe food andfor takingitout of thepan,itis
best to useashallow ladle withalong handle made from a
heat-resistant material.

Cleaning the appliance
Cleanthe appliance after each useonceithas cooled
down.Removespilt liquids immediately anddonot allow
any food remainstoburn on.
Makesurethat theventilation openings under thepan
support arealways clean. The ventilationopeningsmust not
be covered.
Dry theburners thoroughlyafter cleaning.Only operatethe
appliance when theburners aredry.Dampburners can
causeignitionproblems and/or an unstable flame.
During assembly, make sure that theburnerparts(catch
tappets) areinthe correctposition.All parts must be
straight.
Burnt-ondirt
For hard-to-remove, burnt-on dirt,you canorder acleaning
gel from ouronline shop,fromyour specialist retailer or our
after-sales service (itemnumber00311859). It is suitable for
pansupports andthe stainless-steel recess. If necessary,
let thedirt soakovernight.Follow theinstructions on the
cleaning agent.

Damage to the surface
Do notusethe cleaning gelon theburnerparts.
Burner discolouration
After extended use, thebrass burner partstakeonadarker
colour as a result of theoxidation processthat occurs
naturally.The discolouration does not affect their
serviceability.

sales service.
Theburnergoes out while the
appliance is in operation.

No actions have been performed
for an extended period.
Turn all control knobs to 0, andthenswitchthem

Domesticpower failure:
Following apower failure, the

Open windows andensurethe room is well
