JCM800 2203 IN A MORE PORTABLE FORM. GIVING THOSE IN THE STUDIO

AND PLAYING INTIMATE GIGS ACCESS TO THAT FAMOUS MARSHALL SOUND.

Warning: before going any further, make

sure that your amp is compatible with your

mains electricity supply. If you have any

doubt, please seek help from a qualied

technician – your Marshall dealer can help

you with this.

MAINS INPUT & FUSE

The specic mains input voltage rating

that your amp has been manufactured for

is indicated on the rear panel of the amp.

Your amp is provided with a detachable

mains (power) lead, which should be

connected to the mains input socket on the

rear panel of the amp. The correct value

and type of mains fuse is specied on the

rear panel of the amp.

Never attempt to bypass the fuse or t one

of the incorrect value or type.

IMPORTANT SET UP INFORMATION

1. When using your amp with one or

more speaker cabinets, make sure

that they are connected to the correct

loudspeaker jack sockets.

Warning: failure to do the above may

damage your amp. When connecting

a speaker cabinet make sure that you

use a proper speaker cable. Never use a

screened (shielded) guitar cable for this

purpose.

2. Ensure that the power switch is set to

the off position and the standby switch

is set to standby.

3. Connect the supplied mains (power)

lead into the mains input on the rear

panel rst and then into an electricity

outlet.

4. Ensure that any master, volume and/

or output level controls on the front

panel are set to zero.

5. Plug your guitar into one of the input

jack sockets on the front panel.

6. Turn the front panel power switch on

and wait a couple of minutes.

7. Select between 20W / 5W using the

standby switch.

8. Turn the volume up to your preferred

level and you’re ready to play.

TRANSPORTING YOUR EQUIPMENT

Please ensure that your amp is switched

off, unplugged from the mains electricity

supply and all removable cables have been

disconnected from your equipment before

attempting to move it.

Inspired by arguably one of the most

successful guitar amps in Marshall’s history

the JCM800 2203. The Studio Classic

delivers the full spectrum of JCM800 2203

tone from rich and full cleans to heavier

driven aggressive sounds in a portable

format. It has a master volume, versatile

EQ settings including presence control, a

preamp volume control, an added effects

loop and DI out.

1. POWER SWITCH

This turns the amp on and off, it

illuminates red when unit is turned on.

2. STANDBY SWITCH

The unit power is in low power mode

(5W) when set to low, when in the middle

position it is set to standby and when set

to high power the unit runs at full power

(20W).

Standby mode: this should be used during

breaks in performances, instead of leaving

the amp on full power. Always turn the

power on for two minutes before using the

standby switch.

3. PRESENCE

Adjusts the high frequencies of the power

amp. Increasing the high frequencies adds

more bite to your sound.

4. BASS

Adjusts the low frequencies of the amp.

It will add bottom end and depth to your

sound.

5. MIDDLE

Adjusts the mid frequencies of the amp.

Giving you anything from a fat and full

sound to an aggressive tone.

6. TREBLE

Adjust the upper frequencies of the amp.

Your tone will get brighter as it is turned up.

7. MASTER VOLUME

Adjust the amps output volume.

8. PREAMP VOLUME

This will control the overdrive in the

preamp. The input gain and distortion

level of the amp are controlled with this.

9. HIGH INPUT

High sensitivity guitar input socket.

10. LOW INPUT

Low sensitivity guitar input socket

1. SPEAKER OUT

1/4” socket for 16 Ohm speaker

connection.

2. SPEAKER OUT

1/4” socket for 8 Ohm speaker connection

– use this in conjunction with socket 3

when plugging in 2 x 16 Ohm cabinets.

3. SPEAKER OUT

1/4” socket for 8 Ohm speaker connection

– use this in conjunction with socket 2.

when plugging in 2 x 16 Ohm cabinets.

4. SPEAKER OUT

1/4” socket for 4 Ohm speaker connection

– use this in conjunction with socket 5

when plugging in 2 x 8 Ohm cabinets.

5. SPEAKER OUT

1/4” socket for 4 Ohm speaker connection

– use this in conjunction with socket 4

when plugging in 2 x 8 Ohm cabinets.

Warning: never attempt to connect

more speakers than rated. The safe

combinations are those listed in this

manual. Any other speaker combinations

may stress the power amp and potentially

lead to valve failure.

Note: never use this amp without a

speaker load.

6. DI OUTPUT

Connect your amp to an external

recording device or sound desk using this

output socket.

Note: the DI output has added

loudspeaker emulation.

7. LOOP SWITCH

This turns the effects loop of the amp on

or off to completely remove the loop from

the signal path when switched off.

8. EFFECTS LOOP SEND

Sends signal to effects loop / outboard

equipment.

9. EFFECTS LOOP RETURN

Returns signal from effects loop or

outboard equipment.

10. POWER INLET

The supplied mains power lead is

connected here.

INFORMATIONS IMPORTANTES RELATIVES À

L'INSTALLATION :

1. En cas d’utilisation de l’ampli avec un

ou plusieurs caissons haut-parleurs,

s’assurer que les haut-parleurs sont

connectés aux jacks haut-parleurs

corrects.

Averssement: la non-conformité

aux consignes ci-dessus risquerait de

provoquer l’endommagement de votre

ampli. Lors du raccordement d’un caisson

haut-parleur, veiller à utiliser un câble

pour haut-parleur correct. Ne jamais

utiliser à cet effet un câble de guitare

blindé.

2. S’assurer que le commutateur

d’alimentation est réglé sur la position

off, et que le commutateur de veille

(standby) est réglé sur standby.

3. Brancher le câble d’alimentation

fourni à l’entrée secteur sur le

panneau arrière avant de le connecter

à la prise secteur.

Averssement: avant d’aller plus loin,

vérier que votre amplicateur est

compatible avec votre alimentation

électrique. En cas de doute, s’adresser

à un technicien qualié ; votre vendeur

Marshall est en mesure de vous conseiller

à ce sujet.

ENTRÉE SECTEUR ET FUSIBLE :

La tension d’alimentation nominale

précise pour laquelle votre ampli est

conçu est indiquée sur le panneau arrière

de l’ampli. Votre amplicateur est fourni

avec un cordon d’alimentation détachable

à brancher dans la prise secteur sur le

panneau arrière de l’amplicateur.

Ne jamais tenter de dériver le fusible ou

d’installer un fusible dont le type ou la

valeur ne correspondent pas.

4. Vérier que toutes commandes

master, du volume et/ou du niveau

de sortie sur le panneau avant sont

réglées sur zéro.

5. Brancher votre guitare dans l’une des

prises jack d’entrée sur le panneau

avant.

6. Enclencher l’interrupteur

d’alimentation du panneau avant et

patienter deux minutes

7. Choisir entre 20W et 5W au moyen

du commutateur standby.

8. Augmenter le volume sur le niveau

souhaité : l’amplicateur est prêt.

TRANSPORT DE VOTRE ÉQUIPEMENT :

Vérier que votre amplicateur est

éteint et débranché de l’alimentation

secteur et que tous les câbles pouvant

être débranchés ont été déconnectés

de l’équipement avant de déplacer

l’amplicateur.

JCM800 2203. Le Studio Classic offre le

spectre tonal complet du JCM800 2203,

des cleans les plus riches et complets

FONCTIONS DU PANNEAU AVANT

1. COMMUTATEUR D’ALIMENTATION

Allume et éteint l’ampli, s’allume en rouge

quand l’appareil est allumé.

2. INTERRUPTEUR STANDBY (VEILLE)

L’alimentation de l’appareil est en mode

bas régime (5W) quand l’interrupteur

est réglé sur low (bas), en position

intermédiaire il est réglé sur standby

(veille) et en position high (élevé) l’appareil

fonctionne à plein régime (20W).

Mode Standby (Veille) : doit être utilisé

durant les interruptions de jeu, plutôt que de

laisser l’ampli à plein régime. Toujours laisser

allumé pendant au moins deux minutes

avant d’utiliser le commutateur standby.

3. PRESENCE (PRÉSENCE)

Règle les fréquences hautes de l’ampli

de puissance. En augmentant les hautes

fréquences, on donne plus de mordant au

son.

4. BASS (BASSES)

Règle les fréquences basses de l’ampli.

Ajoute des basses et de la profondeur au

son.

5. MIDDLE (MÉDIUMS)

Règle les fréquences moyennes de l’ampli.

Vous offre la gamme allant d’un son plein

et rond à une tonalité agressive.

6. TREBLE (AIGUËS)

Règle les fréquences hautes de l’ampli.

Votre son gagne en éclat lorsque vous

augmentez les aiguës.

7. MASTER VOLUME (VOLUME MASTER)

Règle le volume de sortie de l’ampli.

8. PREAMP VOLUME (VOLUME DU PRÉAMPLI)

Contrôle la dose d’overdrive du préampli.

Contrôle aussi le gain d’entrée et le niveau

de distorsion de l’ampli.

9. ENTRÉE HAUTE

Prise d’entrée guitare haute sensibilité.

10. ENTRÉE BASSE

Prise d’entrée guitare basse sensibilité.

Averssement:Ne jamais tenter de

brancher plus de haut-parleurs que

le nombre indiqué. Les combinaisons

sécurisées sont celles gurant dans ce

manuel. Toute autre combinaison de

haut-parleurs risque de placer trop de

contrainte sur l’ampli de puissance et

potentiellement de conduire à une panne

de lampe.

Remarque : ne jamais utiliser cet ampli

sans charge de haut-parleur.

6. DI OUTPUT (SORTIE DI)

Raccorder votre amplicateur à un

périphérique d’enregistrement ou à une

console de mixage via cette prise de sortie.

Remarque : la sortie DI possède une

émulation de haut-parleur ajoutée.

7. LOOP SWITCH (COMMUTATEUR DE BOUCLE)

Allume et éteint la boucle d’effets de

l’ampli pour retirer complètement la

boucle du chemin de signal s’il est réglé sur

arrêt.

8. EFFECTS LOOP SEND (ENVOI DE BOUCLE

D’EFFETS)

Envoie le signal vers la boucle d’effets /

l’équipement extérieur.

9. EFFECTS LOOP RETURN (RETOUR DE

BOUCLE D’EFFETS)

Renvoie le signal depuis la boucle d’effets /

l’équipement extérieur.

10. ENTRÉE D’ALIMENTATION

Le câble d’alimentation secteur fourni est à

brancher ici.
