About Your Creative WebCam
Focus ring
Adjusts the view focus. Point the lens toward your subject and then rotate this ring in
a clockwise or counterclockwise motion until the image is in focus.
Snapshot
button
Press it to launch WebCam Center and capture images.
USB cable Connect it to your computer's USB port.
Hinged lever Use this to mount your Creative WebCam on an LCD display panel.

Getting Started

Installing Your Creative WebCam
1. Do not connect Creative WebCam Instant to your computer before installing the
drivers. If you accidentally begin installation with Creative WebCam Instant connected
and the Add New Hardware Wizard or Found New Hardware Wizard dialog
box appears, click the Cancel button.
2. Insert the Installation and Applications CD into your CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive.
Your CD should start automatically. If it does not, follow the steps below:
i. Double-click the My Computer icon.
ii. Right-click the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive icon, and then click Autoplay.
3. Click the options for installing drivers and applications.
4. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
You may be asked, after an application is installed, if you want to restart your computer.
Select No until all the drivers and applications are installed.
5. Place your Creative WebCam Instant on top of your computer monitor or other flat
surface. For LCD flat panel monitors or notebook computers, use the integrated
hinged lever to balance the Creative WebCam (see Figure 2).

6. Connect your Creative WebCam Instant's USB cable to an available USB port on your
computer (see Figure 3). Windows automatically detects the device.
In Windows
®
XP only:
i. When the Found New Hardware Wizard dialog box appears, select Install the software
automatically (Recommended), and then click the Next button.
ii. When a Hardware Installation dialog box appears, click the Continue Anyway button.
In Windows 2000 only:
When a Digital Signature Not Found dialog box appears, telling you that Creative WebCam
Instant has been detected, click the Ye s button.
In Windows Me and Windows 98 SE only:
i. If you are prompted to insert the Windows 98 SE or Windows Me CD, replace the Installation
and Applications CD with the appropriate CD.
ii. In the Insert Disk dialog box, click the OK button.
7. Follow the instructions on screen to complete the installation.
8. Restart your computer if you are prompted to do so.

Verifying the Installation
1. Right-click the My Computer icon on your desktop.
2. On the menu that appears, click Properties.
In Windows XP and Windows 2000 only:
In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab. Click the Device Manager
button.
In Windows Me and Windows 98 SE:
In the System Properties dialog box, click the Device Manager tab.
3. Click the plus (+) sign next to the Imaging Device icon. The entry "Creative
WebCam Instant" appears.

Using Your Creative WebCam
Taking a Photo
1. Click Start → Programs → Creative → Creative WebCam → Creative
WebCam Center.
2. In the Creative WebCam Center window, click the Capture tab.
3. Click the Photo box and select the resolution that you want.
4. Click the Snap photo button to capture an image. Images are saved as files in the
default media folder.
To view the photos in the image viewer, double-click the image files in the Thumbnails/
Details pane.

Recording a Video
1. Click Start → Programs → Creative → Creative WebCam → Creative
WebCam Center.
2. In the Creative WebCam Center window, click the Capture tab.
3. Click the Video box and select the resolution that you want.
4. Click the Record button to start and stop video recording. Videos are saved as files in
the default media folder when you stop recording.
To view the videos in the video viewer, double-click the video files in the Thumbnails/
Details pane.
Enabling Advanced Video FX Utility
Advanced Video FX Utility enables you to add fun and interesting effects to your webcam
video. You can launch the Advanced Video FX Utility in the following ways:
• In WebCam Center, click Tools → Advanced Video FX Utility.
• Right-click the Creative Cam Detector icon in the System Tray and click the
Advanced Video FX Utility option.
•Click Start → Programs or All Programs → Creative → Creative WebCam
Features → Advanced Video FX Utility.
To apply a video effect, do the following:
1. Launch Advanced Video FX Utility.
2. Click the Select Category box (if available), and select the type of effect you want.
3. Click the Select Effect box, and select the specific effect you want.
4. Launch WebCam Center.
Click Start → Programs or All Programs → Creative → Creative WebCam →
Creative WebCam Center.

5. In WebCam Center, select Creative WebCam (With Video Effects) from the
Device list box.
• Make sure you launch Advanced Video FX Utility before launching WebCam Center.
•The Select Category box is available only when you download more video effects. For
more information, click More → More video effects.
To add the downloaded video effects to Advanced Video FX Utility, click More → Add
video effects.
• For more information on Advanced Video FX Utility, refer to the Creative WebCam
Features online Help.

ご使用の準備

1
ソフトウェアのインストール
1. ドライバーやソフトウェアをインストールする前に WebCam をコンピュー
ターに接続しないで下さい。WebCam を接続してしまった場合は新しいハー
ドウェアの追加ウィザードダイアログボックスが現れますので、キャンセルボ
タンをクリックして、コンピューターから WebCam を取り外して下さい。
2. インストレーション CD をコンピューターの CD/DVD ドライブに挿入します。
インストールメニューが自動的に現れない場合は次の手順に従って下さい：
i. スタートメニューやデスクトップのマイコンピュータを開きます。
ii. インストレーション CD を挿入した CD/DVD ドライブのアイコンを選んで右クリックします。
iii. ポップアップメニューより自動再生をクリックします。
3. インストールメニューの指示に従い、国 / 地域（日本の場合はアジア）や言語
（日本語）を選んで次へをクリックします。
4. インストールするドライバーやソフトウェアを選択してインストールボタンを
クリックします。
以降は画面の指示に従いインストールを行います。ソフトウェアのインストー
ル後にコンピューターを再起動するかどうかを尋ねられた場合は、すべてのイ
ンストールが終了するまでいいえボタンをクリックして再起動しないで下さい。
5. 図 2 の様にモニター上の平坦な場所に置いたり、
スクリーンに引き掛けて WebCam を設置します。

6. WebCam の接続を促す画面が表示されたら、図 3 の様に WebCam の USB
ケーブルをコンピューターの USB ポートに接続します。Windows は自動的
に WebCam を検出します。
インストールを完了するには、次のそれぞれの手順に従います。
Windows
®
XP をお使いの場合：
i. 新しいハードウェアの検出ウィザードダイアログボックスが表示されたら、ソフトウェ
アを自動的にインストールする（推奨）を選択して次へボタンをクリックします。
ii. 警告メッセージが表示されたらはいボタンをクリックしてインストールを続行します。
Windows 2000 をお使いの場合：
デジタル署名が見つかりませんでしたダイアログボックスが表示されたら、はいボタンを
クリックします。
Windows Me または Windows 98 SE をお使いの場合：
i. Windows の CD を要求されたら CD/DVD ドライブよりインストレーション CD を
取り出し、Windows の CD と交換します。
ii. ディスクを挿入ダイアログボックスの OK ボタンをクリックします。
7. 画面の指示に従いインストールを完了させ、コンピューターを再起動します。

システムのプロパティダイアログボックスが現れます。
Windows XP または Windows 2000 をお使いの場合：
ハードウェアタブをクリックして、デバイスマネージャボタンをクリックします。
Windows Me または Windows 98 SE をお使いの場合：
デバイスマネージャタブをクリックします。
3. イメージングデバイスツリーの + 記号をクリックします。Creative WebCam
Notebook が見つからない場合は、ドライバー / ソフトウェアの再インス
トールや WebCam を接続している USB ポートを変更してみて下さい。

WebCam の使用
写真の撮影
1. スタート → すべてのプログラムまたはプログラム → Creative → Creative
WebCam → Creative WebCam Center をクリックします。
2. Creative WebCam Center ウィンドウでスチル / ビデオキャプチャタブをク
リックします。
3. 静止画の解像度リストより写真のサイズを選択します。
4. 静止画のキャプチャボタンをクリックします。
撮影した画像ファイルは指定されているメディアフォルダに保存されます。
保存した写真を参照するには、サムネイル / 詳細表示パネルの画像ファイルを
ダブルクリックします。

動画の撮影
1. スタート → すべてのプログラムまたはプログラム → Creative → Creative
WebCam → Creative WebCam Center をクリックします。
2. Creative WebCam Center ウィンドウでスチル / ビデオキャプチャタブをク
リックします。
3. 動画の解像度度リストよりビデオのフレームサイズを選択します。
4. 動画のキャプチャボタンをクリックします。
撮影したビデオファイルは指定されているメディアフォルダに保存されます。
保存した動画を再生するには、サムネイル / 詳細表示パネルのビデオファイル
をダブルクリックします。
アドバンスドビデオエフェクトの使用
アドバンスドビデオエフェクトユーティリティは WebCam の映像に様々なエ
フェクトを付け加える選べるユニークなソフトウェアです。
アドバンスドビデオエフェクトユーティリティを起動するには：
･ WebCam Center のメニューよりツール → アドバンスドビデオエフェクト
ユーティリティをクリックします。
･ Windows タスクバーのシステムトレイの Creative Cam Detector アイコンを
右クリックして、ポップアップメニューよりアドバンスドビデオエフェクト
ユーティリティをクリックします。
･ スタート → すべてのプログラムまたはプログラム → Creative → Creative
WebCam フィーチャー → アドバンスドビデオエフェクトユーティリティをク
リックします。
ビデオエフェクトを適用するには：
1. アドバンスドビデオエフェクトユーティリティを起動します。
2. カテゴリリストが存在する場合は、使用したいエフェクトの種類を選択します。
3. エフェクトリストより、使用したいエフェクトを選択します。

4. Creative WebCam Center を起動します。
スタート → すべてのプログラムまたはプログラム → Creative → Creative
WebCam → Creative WebCam Center とクリックします。
5. WebCam Center のカメラデバイスリストより、Creative WebCam（With
Video Effects）を選択します。
･ WebCam Center 等のビデオアプリケーションを起動する前にアドバンスドビ
デオエフェクトユーティリティを起動して下さい。
･ エフェクトのカテゴリリストは、ビデオエフェクトをダウンロードした場合に
のみ使用出来ます。
エフェクトをダウンロードするには、その他ボタン → ビデオエフェクトの参
照をクリックします。
