About Your Creative WebCam

USB cable Connect this to your computer's USB port.

Hinged lever Use this to mount your camera on an LCD display panel.

Do not physically turn your Creative WebCam Live! Motion lens head. Manually moving

the lens head may damage your webcam or change the lens head’s default position. If the

latter happens, see “Resetting Your Webcam to its Default Position” on page 6.

Installing Your Webcam

You need to install device drivers and applications before using your webcam.

Do not connect your webcam to your computer before installing the drivers.

If you accidentally begin installation with your webcam connected and the Add New

Hardware Wizard or Found New Hardware Wizard dialog box appears, click the

Cancel button.

1. Insert the Installation CD into your CD-ROM drive. Your CD should start

automatically. If it does not, follow the steps below:

i. Start Windows Explorer.

ii. On the left pane, click the My Computer icon.

iii. Right-click the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive icon, and then click Autoplay.

2. Select the region you are in and then click the Next button.

3. Select a language and then click the Next

button.

4. Click the options for installing drivers and

applications, and then click the Install

button.

5. Place your webcam on top of your computer

monitor or other flat surface. For LCD flat

panel monitors or notebook computers, use

the integrated hinged lever to balance the

camera (see Figure 1).

6. Connect the headset to your computer's

microphone and headphone connectors. Refer to your computer or audio card

documentation for the microphone and headphone connectors.

7. When prompted, connect your webcam's

USB cable to an available USB port on

your computer (see Figure 2). Windows

automatically detects the device.

In the rare event that your webcam is not

recognized, and a "USB Device Not

Recognized" message appears on your

computer screen, disconnect your

webcam and reconnect it to a USB port at

the back of your computer.

8. To complete the installation, follow the appropriate steps below:

For Windows XP

When the Found New Hardware Wizard dialog box appears, select Install the software

automatically (Recommended), and then click the Next button.

For Windows 2000

When a Digital Signature Not Found dialog box appears, telling you that Creative WebCam

Live! Motion has been detected, click the Ye s button.

9. You may be asked, after the drivers have been successfully installed, if you want to

restart your computer. Select No until all the applications are installed.

Do not connect your Creative WebCam Live! Motion to your computer with an

extension cable.

10. Restart your computer after all the applications have been installed.

Verifying the Installation

1. Right-click the My Computer icon on your desktop or in the Windows Start menu.

2. On the menu that appears, click Properties.

For Windows XP and Windows 2000

In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab. Click the Device Manager

button.

3. Click the plus (+) sign next to the Imaging Device icon. The entry "Creative

WebCam Live! Motion" appears.

For users with USB 2.0-equipped computers only

Creative Installation automatically checks that the software components required for

optimal USB 2.0 performance are installed on your computer, and alerts you if these

components are missing. If you receive such a message, do one of the following to ensure

that your webcam always performs to its fullest potential over a USB 2.0 connection:

• install the USB 2.0 driver provided by your hardware vendor

• download and install the latest Windows Service Pack for your operating system

• if you are using Windows XP SP1, install Windows XP Hotfix KB822603

The latest Windows Service Packs and Windows Hotfix KB822603 can be obtained from

the Microsoft Help and Support website or via Windows Update.

Basic Functions

1. Click Start → Programs → Creative → Creative WebCam → Creative

WebCam Center.

2. In the Creative WebCam Center window, click the Capture tab.

3. Click the Photo box and select the resolution that you want. If you want to capture a

panoramic view, select Panoramic. For more information about capturing panoramic

views, see your User’s Guide on your installation CD.

4. Click the Snap photo button to capture an image. Images are saved as files in the

default media folder.

To view the photos in the image viewer, double-click the image files in the Thumbnails/

Details pane.

Recording a Video

1. In WebCam Center, click the Capture tab.

2. Click the Video box and select the resolution that you want.

3. Click the Record button to start and stop video recording. Videos are saved as files in

the default media folder when you stop recording.

To view the videos in the video viewer, double-click the video files in the Thumbnails/

Details pane.

Enabling Smart Face Tracking

With Smart Face Tracking, your camera automatically zooms in on your face during video

instant messaging sessions, or when recording video. You can enable Smart Face Tracking in

the Face Tracking Utility. You can launch the Face Tracking Utility in the following ways:

• In WebCam Center, click Tools → Face Tracking Utility.

• Right-click the Creative Cam Detector icon in the System Tray and click the Face

Tracking Utility option.

•Click Start → Programs → Creative → Creative WebCam Features → Face

Tracking Utility.

Using the Pan and Tilt feature

With the Pan and Tilt feature, you can achieve accurate webcam monitoring. Your webcam

is capable of horizontal, vertical and diagonal panning in eight different directions. Read on

to start controlling your webcam's positioning directly from your computer.

1. In WebCam Center, make sure Smart Face Tracking is not enabled, and you are not in

My Recordings mode.

2. On the video pane, move your mouse toward the direction you want to view. An

arrow appears.

3. Click the arrow. Your camera view moves toward the direction indicated by the arrow.

4. To bring the camera view back to its center position, move your mouse toward the

center of the video pane, and then click the symbol that appears.

Resetting Your Webcam to its Default Position

i. Click Start → Settings → Control Panel → Scanners and Cameras, and click the

Creative WebCam Live! Motion icon.

ii. In the Creative WebCam Live! Motion Properties window that appears, click the

General tab, and click the Test Scanner or Camera button.

ヒンジレバーを開いて使用します。

Creative WebCam Live! Motion のレンズヘッド部分は手動で動かさないで

下さい。無理に動かすと故障する恐れがあります。また、中心位置がずれてしまう

場合もあります。この際は 13 ページの｢カメラの位置をリセットするには｣を

ご覧下さい。

WebCam のインストール

WebCam をご使用になる際は、付属のデバイスドライバーとアプリケーション

ソフトウェアをインストールする必要があります。

ドライバーやソフトウェアをインストールする前に WebCam をコンピューター

に接続しないで下さい。

WebCam を接続してしまった場合は新しいハードウェアの追加ウィザードダイア

ログボックスが現れますので、キャンセルボタンをクリックして、コンピュー

ターから WebCam を取り外して下さい。

1. インストレーション CD をコンピューターの CD/DVD ドライブに挿入します。

インストールメニューが自動的に現れない場合は次の手順に従って下さい：

i. スタートメニューやデスクトップのマイコンピュータを開きます。

ii. インストレーション CD を挿入した CD/DVD ドライブのアイコンを選んで右クリックします。

iii. ポップアップメニューより自動再生をクリックします。

2. お住まいの地域を選択し、次へボタンをクリックします。

3. お使いになる言語を選択し、次へボタンをクリックします。

4. インストールするドライバーやソフトウェアを選択してインストールボタンを

クリックします。

5. 図 1 の様にモニター上の平坦な場所に

置いたり、スクリーンに引掛けて

WebCam を設置します。

6. 必要に応じてヘッドセットマイク等をコンピューターのオーディオデバイスに

接続します。これらの接続については、お使いのコンピューターやオーディオ

のマニュアルをご覧下さい。

7. WebCam の接続を促す画面が表示

されたら、図 2 の様に WebCam の

USB ケーブルをコンピューターの

USB ポートに接続します。

Windows

は自動的に WebCam を

検出します。

WebCam が検出されなかったり、

USB デバイスを認識出来ない旨の

メッセージが表示された場合は、一旦

WebCam を取り外して別の USB

ポートへの接続をお試し下さい。

8. インストールを完了するには、次のそれぞれの手順に従います：

Windows XP をお使いの場合

新しいハードウェアの検出ウィザードダイアログボックスが表示されたら、ソフトウェアを

自動的にインストールする（推奨）を選択して次へボタンをクリックします。

Windows 2000 をお使いの場合

デジタル署名が見つかりませんでしたダイアログボックスが表示されたら、はいボタンを

クリックします。

USB 延長ケーブルを使用して Creative WebCam Live! Motion をコンピューター

に接続しないで下さい。市販の USB 延長ケーブルを使用して WebCam の USB

ケーブルを延長してコンピューターに接続すると、コンピューターが WebCam を

正常に認識しない場合があります。

9. ドライバーのインストール後、コンピューターを再起動するかを尋ねられる場合

があります。全てのインストールが完了するまで再起動は行わないで下さい。

10. 画面の指示に従いインストールを完了させ、コンピューターを再起動します。

インストールの確認

1. スタートメニューやデスクトップのマイコンピュータアイコンを選んで

右クリックします。

2. ポップアップメニューよりプロパティをクリックします。

3. システムのプロパティダイアログボックスが現れますのでハードウェアタブを

クリックし、デバイスマネージャボタンをクリックします。

4. イメージングデバイスツリーの + 記号をクリックします。Creative WebCam

Live! Motion が見つけられない場合は、ソフトウェアのインストールや

WebCam を接続している USB ポートを変更してみて下さい。

USB 2.0 を装備したコンピューターをお使いの場合

Creative インストーラーは、USB 2.0 の最適なパフォーマンスに必要なソフト

ウェアコンポーネントがコンピューターにインストールされているかどうかを

自動的に検証し、これらのコンポーネントがない場合は警告します。この様な

警告が表示された場合、次のいずれかを実行し、お使いの製品が USB 2.0 を

接続した状態で常に最高のパフォーマンスで動作するようにして下さい。

･ハードウェアベンダーから供給される USB 2.0 ドライバーをインストール

する

･お使いのオペレーティングシステムの最新の Windows サービスパックを

ダウンロードし、インストールする

･ Windows XP SP1 をご使用の場合、Windows XP Hotfix KB822603 を

インストールする

最新の Windows サービスパックおよび Windows Hotfix KB822603 は、

Microsoft サポートオンラインの Web サイトか Windows Update で入手

出来ます。

WebCam の使用

写真の撮影

1. スタート → すべてのプログラムまたはプログラム → Creative → Creative

WebCam → Creative WebCam Center をクリックします。

2. Creative WebCam Center ウィンドウでスチル / ビデオキャプチャタブを

クリックします。

3. 静止画の解像度リストより写真のサイズを選択します。パノラマ写真を撮影

する場合は、リストよりパノラマを選択します。詳細はインストレーション

CD に収められているユーザーズガイドマニュアルをご覧下さい。

4. 静止画のキャプチャボタンをクリックします。

撮影した写真は指定されれているメディアフォルダに保存されます。

撮影した写真を参照するには、サムネイル / 詳細表示パネルの画像ファイルを

ダブルクリックします。

動画の撮影

1. スタート → すべてのプログラムまたはプログラム → Creative → Creative

WebCam → Creative WebCam Center をクリックします。

2. Creative WebCam Center ウィンドウでスチル / ビデオキャプチャタブを

クリックします。

3. 動画の解像度リストよりビデオのフレームサイズを選択します。

4. 動画のキャプチャボタンをクリックします。

撮影したビデオは指定されれているメディアフォルダに保存されます。

撮影した動画を再生するには、サムネイル / 詳細表示パネルのビデオファイルを

ダブルクリックします。

フェイストラッキング機能の使用

フェイストラッキングは、WebCam の視野内の人の顔の動きを自動的に追尾して

撮影することの出来る機能です。

フェイストラッキングを有効にするには：

･ WebCam Center のメニューよりツール → フェイストラッキングユーティリティを

クリックします。

･ Windows タスクバーのシステムトレイの Creative Cam Detector アイコンを

右クリックして、ポップアップメニューよりフェイストラッキングユーティリティを

クリックします。

･スタート → すべてのプログラムまたはプログラム → Creative → Creative

WebCam フィーチャー → フェイストラッキングユーティリティをクリックします。

パン / チルト機能の使用

パン / チルト機能を使用すると、カメラの向きを水平および垂直それぞれの方向に

動かすことが出来ます。

Creative WebCam Center でパン / チルトを行うには：

1. フェイストラッキング機能が無効になっている事を確認して下さい。また、

Creative WebCam Center でマイレコーディングモード以外であることを

確認して下さい。

2. ビデオウィンドウにマウスカーソルを移動します。WebCam を移動したい

方向にマウスポインターを動かして方向の矢印を出します。

3. 矢印が表示されている状態でマウスのボタンをクリックします。矢印の方向に

連続して動かす場合はマウスのボタンを押しつづけます。

4. カメラを中央の位置に戻すには、マウスポインターをビデオウィンドウの中央

に移動して 4 方向の矢印が表示された状態でマウスのボタンをクリックします。

カメラの位置をリセットするには

i. スタート → 設定 → コントロールパネル → スキャナとカメラとクリックし、

Creative WebCam Live! Motion アイコンをダブルクリックします。

ii. Creative WebCam Live! Motion のプロパティダイアログボックスが現れますので、

全般パネルのスキャナまたはカメラのテストボタンをクリックします。
