Basic procedures for use
Prepare the unit
1. Open the microSD slot cover and insert
a microSD Card (sold separately) into the
slot in the direction of the arrow as shown
in the following illustration until it clicks
into place.
2. Open the battery compartment cover on
the front of the unit.
While gently pressing the battery
compartment cover, slide it and lift it
slowly to open the compartment.
3. Install 2 AAA batteries (sold separately)
with their ¥ and ^ marks as shown in
the battery compartment.

4. Connect the plug of the included lavalier
(pin) mic to the input jack on the unit.
Format (initialize) the microSD card
A microSD card must be formatted by this unit
to make it usable.
CAUTION
Formatting will erase all data on a microSD
card. Back up to a computer, for example
before formatting a card.
If “Format Error” is shown
1. Press the 7’9 [ENTER] button.
2. When “Format Card?” is shown, press the
7’9 [ENTER] button.
3. When “Are You Sure?” is shown, press the
7’9 [ENTER] button.
This will start formatting.
If “File Not Found” is shown
1. Press the 7’9 [ENTER] button.
2. When “Make System File?” is shown, press
the 7’9 [ENTER] button.
3. When “Are You Sure?” is shown, press the
7’9 [ENTER] button.
This will start formatting.
After formatting completes, the Home
Screen will appear.
NOTE
To prevent formatting, remove the
microSD card while the confirmation
message is open. The Home Screen will
appear.

Turn the unit on
1. Slide and hold the ¤?o−0REC
switch toward ¤.
After holding it for about one second,
the unit will start up and “TASCAM”
(the startup screen) will appear on the
display.
Set the date and time
The date and time setting screen will open the
first time the power is turned on.

1. Use the . [j] and / [k] buttons to
change the numbers and use the 7’9
[ENTER] button to move the cursor.
2. When at the rightmost mm, press the
7’9 [ENTER] button to confirm the date
and time.

1. When the unit is on, slide the
¤?o−0REC switch toward 0REC.
Recording will start after about one
second.

Préparer l'unité
1. Ouvrez le volet du lecteur de carte microSD
et insérez une carte microSD (vendue
séparément) dans le lecteur jusqu'à ce

Formater (initialiser) la carte microSD
Une carte micro SD doit être formatée par cette
unité pour pouvoir être utilisée.
ATTENTION
Le formatage effacera toutes les données
de la carte microSD. Faites une sauvegarde,
par exemple sur un ordinateur, avant de
formater une carte.
Si «Format Error» (erreur de format)
s'affiche
1. Pressez la touche 7’9 [ENTER].
2. Si «Format Card?» (formater la carte?)
s'affiche, pressez la touche 7’9 [ENTER].
3. Quand «Are You Sure?» (êtes-vous sûr?)

Si «File Not Found» (fichier non trouvé)

Procesos básicos de uso
Preparativos
1. Abra la tapa de la ranura de microSD e
introduzca una tarjeta microSD (opcional)
en la ranura en la dirección de la flecha
hasta que haga clic, tal como puede ver en
la ilustración siguiente.
2. Abra la tapa del compartimento de las
pilas de la parte frontal de la unidad.
Mientras pulsa suavemente la tapa del
compartimento, deslícela y sepárela
para abrir el compartimento.

Formateo (inicialización) de la
tarjeta microSD
Debe formatear una tarjeta microSD en esta
unidad para poder usarla en ella.
CUIDADO
El formateo borrará todos los datos que
contenga la tarjeta microSD. Antes de
formatearla, haga una copia de seguridad
de sus datos en un ordenador, por
ejemplo.
Si aparece en pantalla “Format Error”
1. Pulse el botón 7’9 [ENTER].
2. Cuando aparezca “Format Card?”, pulse el
botón 7’9 [ENTER].
3. Cuando aparezca “Are You Sure?”, pulse el
botón 7’9 [ENTER].

基本的な使い方
準備
1. microSDカードスロットを開け、
microSD カード（別売）を下図の矢
印方向にカチッと音がするまで差し込
みます。
2. 本体のフロントパネルの電池ケース蓋
を開けます。
電池ケース蓋は、軽く押しながらス
ライドさせ、ゆっくりと持ち上げて
開けてください。
3. 電池ケース内の ¥と^の表示に合わ
せて、単 4 形電池（別売）を 2本セッ
トして、電池ケース蓋を閉めます。

4. 付属のラベリアマイク（ピンマイク）
の端子を本体の入力端子に接続します。
microSD カードをフォーマット（初
期化）する
microSD カードを使えるようにするために、
本機でフォーマットする必要があります。
注意
フォーマットすると microSD カード
の全てのデータが消去されます。デー
タをパソコンにバックアップしてから
フォーマットを実行してください。
「Format Error」が表示された場合
1. 7’9[ENTER] ボタンを押します。
2. 「Format Card?」 の 表 示 で、
7’9[ENTER] ボタンを押します。
3. 「Are You Sure?」 の 表 示 で、
7’9[ENTER] ボタンを押します。
フォーマットが開始されます。
「File Not Found」が表示された場合
1. 7’9[ENTER] ボタンを押します。
2. 「Make System File?」の表 示で、
7’9[ENTER] ボタンを押します。
3. 「Are You Sure?」 の 表 示 で、
7’9[ENTER] ボタンを押します。
フォーマットが開始されます。
フォーマットが完了すると、ホーム画面が
表示されます。
メモ
フォーマットを行わない場合は、確認
メッセージの表示中に microSD カー
ドを取り外してください。ホーム画面

Procedure per l'uso di base
Preparare l'unità
1. Aprire il coperchio dello slot microSD
e inserire una card microSD (venduta
separatamente) nello slot nella direzione
della freccia come mostrato nella figura
seguente fino a quando non scatta in
posizione.
2. Aprire il coperchio del vano batterie sulla
parte anteriore dell'unità.
Premendo delicatamente il coperchio
del vano batteria, farlo scorrere e
sollevarlo lentamente per aprire il vano.

4. Collegare la spina del microfono lavalier

Formattare (inizializzare) la card
microSD
Una card microSD deve essere formattata da
questa unità per renderla utilizzabile.
AVVERTENZE
La formattazione cancellerà tutti i dati su
una card microSD. Eseguire il backup su un
computer, prima di formattare una card.
Se viene visualizzato "Format Error"
1. Premere il pulsante 7’9 [ENTER].
2. Quando "Format Card?" viene visualizzato,
premere il pulsante 7’9 [ENTER].
3. Viene visualizzato "Are You Sure?", quindi
premere il pulsante 7’9 [ENTER].
Verrà avviata la formattazione.
Se viene visualizzato "File Not Found"
1. Premere il pulsante 7’9 [ENTER].
2. Quando "Make System File?" viene
visualizzato, premere il pulsante 7’9
[ENTER].
3. Viene visualizzato ”Are You Sure?”, quindi
premere il pulsante 7’9 [ENTER].
Verrà avviata la formattazione.
Al termine della formattazione, verrà
visualizzata la schermata iniziale.
NOTA
Per impedire la formattazione, rimuovere
la card microSD mentre il messaggio di
conferma è aperto. Apparirà la schermata

Grundlegende Bedienung
Das Gerät vorbereiten
1. Öffnen Sie die Kartenschachtabdeckung
und setzen Sie wie in der folgenden
Abbildung gezeigt eine microSD-Karte in
Pfeilrichtung in den Kartenschacht ein, bis
sie mit einem Klicken einrastet.
2. Öffnen Sie das Batteriefach auf der
Vorderseite.
Drücken Sie dazu vorsichtig auf die
Batteriefachabdeckung, schieben Sie sie
und heben Sie sie an.
3. Legen Sie zwei Batterien des Typs AAA
(optional erhältlich) ein.
Beachten Sie dabei die Markierungen für
die richtige Polarität im Batteriefach (¥
und ^).

4. Schließen Sie das mitgelieferte Lavalier-
Mikrofon an die Eingangsbuchse des
Recorders an.
Die Speicherkarte formatieren
Um eine Speicherkarte mit dem Recorder
verwenden zu können, müssen Sie sie vor dem
ersten Gebrauch formatieren.
WICHTIG
Durch das Formatieren werden alle auf der
Karte enthaltenen Daten gelöscht. Sichern
Sie die Daten beispielsweise auf einem
Computer, bevor Sie die Karte formatieren.
Wenn „Format Error“ (Formatfehler)
angezeigt wird
1. Drücken Sie die Taste ENTER.
2. Wenn „Format Card?“ (Karte formatieren?)
angezeigt wird, drücken Sie ENTER.
3. Wenn „Are you sure?“ (Sind Sie sicher?)
angezeigt wird, drücken Sie ENTER.
Damit wird die Formatierung gestartet.

3. Damage resulting from failure to perform basic
daily maintenance and/or calibration or
otherwise resulting from failure to follow
instructions contained in your owner’s
manual.
4. Damage occurring during shipment of the
product. (Claims must be presented to
the carrier)
5. Damage resulting from repair or attempted
repair by anyone other than TEAC or an
authorized TASCAM service station.
6. Damage resulting from causes other than
product defects, including lack of technical
skill, competence, or experience of the user.
7. Damage to any unit which has been altered
or on which the serial number has been
defaced, modified or is missing.
WHO IS COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY
This warranty may be enforced only by the
original purchaser. This warranty is not valid
if the product was purchased through an
unauthorized dealer.
LENGTH OF WARRANTY
All parts except heads and disk drives are
warranted for one (1) year from the date of
original purchase. Heads and disk drives are
warranted for ninety (90) days from date of
original purchase. Labor is warranted for ninety
(90) days from date of original purchase.
WHAT WE WILL PAY FOR
We will pay all labor and material expenses
for items covered by the warranty. Payment
of shipping charges is discussed in the next
section of this warranty.
HOW YOU CAN GET WARRANTY SERVICE
Your unit must be serviced by an authorized
TASCAM service station in the United States.
(This warranty is not enforceable outside the
U.S.) If you are unable to locate an authorized
TASCAM service station in your area, please
contact us. We either will refer you to an
authorized service station or instruct you
to return the unit to the factory. Whenever
warranty service is required, you must present
a copy of the original dated sales receipt from
an Authorized TASCAM Dealer.
You must pay any shipping charges if it is
necessary to ship the product to service.
However, if the necessary repairs are covered
by the warranty, we will pay return surface
shipping charges to any destination within the
United States.
LIMITATION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES
Any implied warranties, INCLUDING
WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, are
limited in duration to the length of this
warranty.
EXCLUSION OF DAMAGES
TEAC’s liability for any defective product is
limited to repair or replacement of the product,
at TEAC’s option. TEAC shall not be liable for:
1. Damages based upon inconvenience, loss of
use of the product, loss of time interrupted
operation or commercial loss; or
2. Any other damages, whether incidental,
consequential or otherwise.
Some states do not allow limitations on how
long an implied warranty lasts and/or do not
allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental
or consequential damages, so the above
limitations and exclusions may not apply to
you.
