Important
Read this important information carefully before you use the appliance and
save it for future reference.
Danger
- Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid. Do not rinse
it with running water, except for the parts that can be removed and
rinsed according to the instructions.
- Never use the appliance near ammable or toxic substances.
- Do not vacuum up any liquid, ammable material or sharp objects,
such as needles or pins.
Warning
- Check if the voltage indicated on the adapter corresponds to the local
mains voltage before you connect the appliance.
- Do not use the appliance or the adapter if it is damaged.
- If the adapter is damaged, always have it replaced with one of the
original type in order to avoid a hazard.
- The adapter contains a transformer. Do not cut off the adapter to
replace it with another plug, as this causes a hazardous situation.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience
and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with
the appliance.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of the reach of children.
- To avoid danger of strangulation, keep the cord out of the reach of
children.
- The plug must be removed from the socket-outlet before cleaning or
maintenance.
- This appliance contains a UV emitter. Do not stare at the light source
and avoid contact with the skin.
- To avoid eye injury, do not look into the UV light directly.
- Do not point the UV light directly towards your own hands or body, the
hands or body of other people, or at pets during use.
- Always return the appliance to a service centre authorised by Philips for
examination or repair. Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself,
otherwise the guarantee becomes invalid.
- Do not open the appliance and do not connect the appliance to the
mains when its housing is damaged or open.
Caution
- Always switch off and unplug the appliance after use and before
removing the dust container or cleaning the appliance.
- Do not use the adapter in or near a power outlet that contains an
electric air freshener to prevent damage to the adapter.
- Do not use the appliance if you are highly sensitive to sunlight or bright light.
- Never block the exhaust air openings or the vacuum inlet.
- Always use the appliance with the dust compartment and the lter unit
assembled.
- Always make sure that the washable parts of the appliance (i.e. the
outer lter and the dust container) are completely dry before you put
them back into the appliance.
- Do not use a sharp object to clean the EPA lter, as this damages the lter.
- Avoid placing your hands on or near the exhaust openings during use.
The exhaust air emitted by the appliance can be hot.
- Do not touch the tapping feet when the tapping mode is active.
- Do not use the appliance on hard oors or furniture in tapping mode.
- Stop using the appliance when smoke, an unusual smell or an unusual
sound is coming out of the appliance. Unplug the appliance immediately
and contact the Philips Customer Care Centre.

Can I wash the EPA lter? No, the EPA lter cannot be rinsed with tap
water. Use the brush supplied to clean the lter.
How often do I have to
replace the EPA lter?
Replace the EPA lter every 3 to 5 months,
depending on how often you use the
appliance. If the suction power decreases
noticeably, you have to replace the EPA lter.
Can the appliance be
used on hard oors?
Yes, but only in vacuum mode. If you use it on
furniture or hard oors in tapping mode, you
may damage the surface you clean.
