OUTPUT jack
The direct sound and delay sound are
mixed and output from this jack.
If a plug is inserted in the DIRECT OUT
jack, only the delay sound is output from
this jack.
Guitar Ampli er
Adjusts the delay time. Turning the knob toward the right shortens the
delay time.
* Delay time (maximum)
S (standard): 300 ms, C (custom): 800 ms
Adjusts the volume of the delay sound. Turning the knob toward the right
makes the delay sound louder. If you turn the knob all the way to the left,
only the direct sound is heard.
Adjusts the number of delay repeats. Turn this knob toward the right to
increase the number of repeats. If you turn the knob all the way to the left,
a single delay is heard.
* If you turn the knob all the way to the right, oscillation might occur.
DIRECT OUT jack
Only the direct sound is output from
this jack.

RATE jack
If you connect an expression pedal (Roland EV-5) to
this jack, you can use it to control the delay time.

Switches the tonal character.
S (standard): The original tone of the DM-2.
C (custom): A clear, customized tone with an extended delay time.
Before using this unit, carefully read the sections entitled: “USING THE UNIT SAFELY” and “IMPORTANT NOTES” (supplied on a separate sheet). These
sections provide important information concerning the proper operation of the unit.
Additionally, in order to feel assured that you have gained a good grasp of every feature provided by your new unit, this manual should be read in its
entirety. The manual should be saved and kept on hand as a convenient reference.
Precautions When Connecting
* To prevent malfunction and equipment failure, always turn
down the volume, and turn o all the units before making any
connections.
* Once the connections have been completed, turn on power
to your various devices in the order speci ed. By turning on
devices in the wrong order, you risk causing malfunction and/
or damage to speakers and other devices.
When powering up: Turn on the power to your guitar amp
last.
When powering down: Turn o the power to your guitar amp
rst.
* Due to the characteristics of its analog circuitry, this unit’s
CHECK indicator may be lit (e ect on) or unlit (e ect o ) when
you turn the power on.
Use of Battery
* A battery was installed in the unit before it left the factory. The
life of this battery may be limited, however, since its primary
purpose was to enable testing.
* If you handle batteries improperly, you risk explosion and uid
leakage. Make sure that you carefully observe all of the items
related to batteries that are listed in “USING THE UNIT SAFELY”
and “IMPORTANT NOTES” (supplied on a separate sheet).
* When operating on battery power only, the unit’s indicator will
become dim when battery power gets too low. Replace the
battery as soon as possible.
* Batteries should always be installed or replaced before
connecting any other devices. This way, you can prevent
malfunction and damage.
* If the battery runs extremely low, the sound may distort or
the delay time may be shortened, but this does not indicate a
malfunction. If this occurs, please replace the battery.
Changing the Battery
1. Hold down the
pedal and loosen
the thumbscrew,
then open the
pedal upward.
* The pedal can be
opened without
detaching the
thumbscrew
completely.
2. Remove the old battery from the battery housing, and
remove the snap cord connected to it.
3. Connect the snap cord to the new battery, and place
the battery inside the battery housing.
* Be sure to carefully observe the battery’s polarity (+ versus -).
4. Slip the coil spring onto the spring base on the back of
the pedal, and then close the pedal.
* Carefully avoid getting the snap cord caught in the pedal, coil
spring, and battery housing.
5. Finally, insert the thumbscrew into the guide bush
hole and fasten it securely.

If you’re using this unit in a parallel-connected e ect loop, insert a
dummy plug into the DIRECT OUT jack so that only the delay sound is
output to the RETURN jack.
Caution When Using the RATE Jack
* Use only the speci ed expression pedal (Roland EV-5; sold
separately). By connecting any other expression pedals, you
risk causing malfunction and/or damage to the unit.
* Use the minimum volume of the EV-5 to specify the maximum
delay time, and use the REPEAT RATE knob of the DM-2W to
specify the way in which the delay time will change (i.e., the
curve of change).
Some settings of these knobs might not produce the correct
e ect. Listen to the sound while you adjust the minimum
volume and the REPEAT RATE knob.
* Depending on the setting of the INTENSITY knob, oscillation
may occur while you operate the pedal, causing the volume to
increase suddenly. Take care to avoid damaging the connected
guitar amp or speaker.

This is a “WAZA CRAFT series” e ect unit featuring analog circuitry painstakingly designed in every detail for the best possible sound.
This is a painstakingly designed analog delay using carefully selected BBD components.
In addition to the sound of the original DM-2, you’ll enjoy a custom tone that’s been fully tuned-up by BOSS engineers.
Main Features
INPUT jack
This jack accepts signals coming from
a guitar or other musical instrument, or
another e ects unit.
* The INPUT jack doubles as the power switch. Power
to the unit is turned on when you plug into the
INPUT jack; the power is turned o when the cable
is unplugged. To prevent unnecessary battery
consumption, be sure to disconnect the plug from
the INPUT jack when not using the e ects unit.
Panel Descriptions
DC IN jack
Accepts connection of an AC Adaptor (PSA series; optional). By using an AC Adaptor, you can play
without being concerned about how much battery power you have left.
* Use only the speci ed AC adaptor (PSA series; optional), and connect it to an AC outlet of the
correct voltage. Do not use any other AC adaptor, since this may cause malfunction.
* If the AC adaptor is connected while a battery is installed, the power
supply is drawn from the AC adaptor.
* We recommend that you keep batteries installed in the unit even
though you’ll be powering it with the AC adaptor. That way, you’ll be
able to continue a performance even if the cord of the AC adaptor gets
accidently disconnected from the unit.
CHECK indicator
This indicator shows whether the e ect is on or o , and also doubles as the battery check
indicator. The indicator lights when the e ect is on.
* If you’re powering the unit with a battery and the CHECK indicator goes dim— or
doesn’t light at all—when you try to turn the e ect on, the battery is near depletion
and should be replaced. For instructions on changing the battery, refer to “Changing
the Battery.”
* The CHECK indicator shows whether the e ect is being applied or not. It does not
indicate whether the power to the device is on or not.

Vor dem Betrieb des Gerätes lesen Sie bitte die folgenden aufgeführten Abschnitte sorgfältig durch: „SICHERER BETRIEB DES GERÄTES“ und „WICHTIGE HINWEISE“ (auf einem gesonderten Blatt beiliegend). Diese
Abschnitte enthalten wichtige Informationen zur korrekten Bedienung des Gerätes.
Damit Sie einen vollständigen Überblick über alle Funktionen des Gerätes zu erhalten, sollten Sie diese Bedienungsanleitung vollständig durchlesen. Bewahren Sie die Anleitung an einem sicheren Ort auf, und
verwenden Sie diese zu Referenzzwecken.
Vorsichtsmaßnahmen beim Herstellen der Anschlüsse
* Regeln Sie immer die Lautstärke auf Minimum und lassen Sie
die Geräte ausgeschaltet, bevor Sie neue Kabelverbindungen
vornehmen. Damit beugen Sie eventuellen Fehlfunktionen
bzw. Beschädigungen vor.
* Sobald Sie alle Anschlüsse vorgenommen haben, schalten Sie
alle beteiligten Geräte in der angegebenen Reihenfolge ein.
Wenn Sie die Geräte in der falschen Reihenfolge einschalten,
besteht die Gefahr von Fehlfunktionen und/oder Schäden an
Lautsprechern und anderen Geräten.
Beim Einschalten: Schalten Sie den Gitarrenverstärker zuletzt ein.
Beim Ausschalten: Schalten Sie den Gitarrenverstärker zuerst aus.
* Aufgrund der Eigenschaften der Analogschaltung kann die
Kontrollleuchte CHECK dieses Geräts beim Einschalten leuchten
(E ekt eingeschaltet) oder nicht leuchten (E ekt ausgeschaltet).
Batteriebetrieb
* Das Gerät wurde mit einer im Gehäuse eingelegten Batterie
ausgeliefert. Die Lebensdauer dieser Batterie kann jedoch
eingeschränkt sein, da ihr Hauptzweck darin besteht, Produkt-
tests zu ermöglichen.
* Bei unsachgemässer Behandlung können Batterien explodieren
oder auslaufen. Lesen Sie alle relevanten Sicherheitshinweise
in den Abschnitten “USING THE UNIT SAFELY” und “IMPORTANT
NOTES” (Informationsblatt “USING THE UNIT SAFELY” und in
dieser Anleitung).
* Bei ausschließlichem Batteriebetrieb wird die Anzeige am Gerät
zunehmend dunkler, sobald die Batteriespannung zu sehr
absinkt. Ersetzen Sie die Batterie dannso bald wie möglich.
* Beim Einsetzen oder Austauschen der Batterien sollten Sie
dieses Gerät immer ausschalten und die Verbindungen zu jeg-
lichen anderen angeschlossenen Geräten trennen. Auf diese
Weise vermeiden Sie Fehlfunktionen und Beschädigungen.
* Wenn der Ladezustand der Batterie sehr niedrig ist, kann der
Klang verzerren oder die Delay-Zeit verzögert werden. Dies
stellt jedoch keine Funktionsstörung dar. Tritt dies auf, so
tauschen Sie die Batterie aus.
Auswechseln der Batterie
1. Halten Sie das

2. Entnehmen Sie die alte Batterie aus dem Batteriegehäuse,
und nehmen Sie das daran befestigte Clipkabel ab.
3. Befestigen Sie das Clipkabel an der neuen Batterie, und
legen Sie die Batterie in das Batteriegehäuse ein.
* Achten Sie auf die Polarität der Batterie (+ bzw. -).
4. Schieben Sie die Spiralfeder auf die Federbasis auf der
Unterseite des Pedaldeckels, und schließen Sie das Pedal.
* Achten Sie darauf, dass das Clipkabel nicht im Pedal, in der
Spiralfeder oder im Batteriegehäuse eingeklemmt wird.
5. Führen Sie die Schraube schließlich in das Führungsloch
ein, und drehen Sie sie fest.

Wenn Sie dieses Gerät in einem parallel angeschlossenen E ect-Loop

Wichtiger Hinweis zur Verwendung der RATE-Buchse
* Verwenden Sie das Roland EV-5 Expression-Pedal. Bei
Benutzung anderer Expression-Pedale können Fehlfunktionen
auftreten.
* Regeln Sie das EV-5 auf minimale Lautstärke, um die maximale
Delayzeit auszuwählen, und verwenden Sie den REPEAT RATE-
Regler des DM-2W, um zu bestimmen, mit welcher Hüllkurve
die Delayzeit verändert wird.
Einige Einstellungen führen eventuell nicht zu dem
gewünschten Ergebnis. Achten Sie auf das Klangergebnis,
während Sie das EV-5 Expression-Pedal betätigen bzw. den
REPEAT RATE-Regler bewegen.
* Abhängig von der Einstellung des INTENSITY-Reglers kann
es vorkommen, dass während der Bedienung des Pedals eine
Oszillation auftritt und die Lautstärke abrupt angehoben wird.
Beachten Sie dieses, um eventuellen Beschädigungen des
mit dem Pedal verbundenen Verstärkers bzw. Lautsprechers
vorzubeugen.

Beschreibungen zum Bedienfeld
Dies ist ein E ektgerät der „WAZA CRAFT“-Series mit analogem Schaltkreis, das in jedem Detail für einen bestmöglichen Klang sorgfältig konstruiert wurde.
Dies ist ein akribisch konstruiertes Analog Delay, in dem sorgfältig ausgewählte BBD-Komponenten zum Einsatz kommen.
Neben dem Sound des originalen DM-2 steht Ihnen ein Custom-Klang zur Verfügung, der von unseren BOSS-Ingenieuren völlig neu gescha en wurde.
OUTPUT-Buchse
Der direkte Klang und der Delay-Klang
werden gemischt und über diese Buchse
ausgegeben.
Wenn ein Stecker in die DIRECT
OUT-Buchse eingesteckt wird, wird
nur der Delay-Klang über diese Buchse
ausgegeben.
Gitarrenverstärker
Zur Einstellung der Delay-Zeit. Durch Drehen des Drehreglers nach rechts
wird die Delay-Zeit verkürzt.
* Delay-Zeit (maximal)
S (Standard): 300 ms, C (Custom): 800 ms
Zur Einstellung der Lautstärke des Delay-Klangs. Durch Drehen des
Drehreglers nach rechts wird der Delay-Klang lauter. Wenn Sie den
Drehregler vollständig nach links drehen, ist nur der direkte Klang zu hören.
Zur Einstellung der Anzahl der Delay-Wiederholungen. Durch Drehen
dieses Drehreglers nach rechts wird die Anzahl der Wiederholungen
erhöht. Wenn Sie den Drehregler vollständig nach links drehen, ist ein
einzelnes Delay zu hören.
* Wenn Sie den Drehregler vollständig nach rechts drehen, kann es zu
Oszillation kommen.
DIRECT OUT-Buchse
Über diese Buchse wird nur der direkte
Klang ausgegeben.
RATE-Buchse
Wenn Sie an diese Buchse ein Expression-Pedal
anschließen (Roland EV-5), können Sie damit die Delayzeit
steuern.
* Siehe Abschnitt “Wichtiger Hinweis zur Verwendung
der RATE-Buchse”.

E-Gitarre
INPUT-Buchse
Diese Buchse nimmt Signale von einer
Gitarre, einem anderen Musikinstrument
oder einem vorgeschalteten E ektgerät auf.
* Die INPUT-Buchse fungiert außerdem als EIN-/
AUS-Schalter. Das Gerät schaltet sich ein, wenn Sie
ein Kabel an der INPUT-Buchse anschließen, und es
schaltet sich aus, sobald Sie das Kabel herausziehen.
Ziehen Sie den Stecker aus der INPUT-Buchse, wenn
das E ektgerät nicht verwendet wird, um die Batterie
zu schonen.
DC IN-Buchse
Ermöglicht den Anschluss eines Netzadapters (BOSS PSA-230 oder PSB-230, optional). Wenn
Sie einen Netzadapter benutzen, brauchen Sie sich keine Gedanken über die verbleibende
Lebensdauer der Batterie zu machen.
* Verwenden Sie ausschließlich den passenden Netzadapter (BOSS PSA-230 oder PSB-230,
optional), und schließen Sie diesen an eine Netzsteckdose an. Verwenden Sie keinen anderen
Netzadapter, da hierdurch Fehlfunktionen auftreten können.
* Wird bei eingelegter Batterie ein Netzteil angeschlossen, erfolgt die
Stromversorgung über das Netzteil.
* Wir empfehlen Ihnen, auch dann eine Batterie im Gerät zu lassen, wenn
Sie es mit dem Netzadapter betreiben. Auf diese Weise können Sie einfach
weiterspielen, wenn das Kabel des Netzteils versehentlich vom Gerät
getrennt wird.
CHECK-Anzeige
Anhand dieser Anzeige erkennen Sie, ob der E ekt ein- oder ausgeschaltet ist, und darüber
hinaus dient sie als Kontrolle der Batteriespannu
ng. Die Anzeige leuchtet, wenn der E ekt
eingeschaltet ist.
* Wenn Sie das Gerät m
it einer Batterie betreiben und die CHECK-Anzeige schwächer
wird – oder gar kein Licht zu sehen ist –, sobald Sie versuchen, den E ekt
einzuschalten, ist die Batterie fast leer und muss ersetzt werden. Anweisungen zum
Auswechseln der Batterie nden Sie im Abschnitt „Auswechseln der Batterie“.
* Die CHECK-Anzeige zeigt an, ob der E ekt angewendet wird oder nicht. Sie zeigt
nicht an, ob die Stromversorgung des Gerä
tes eingeschaltet ist.

de pouvoir vous y reporter au besoin.
Précautions lors du branchement
* Pour éviter tout dysfonctionnement ou toute défaillance
de l’équipement, baissez toujours le volume et mettez tous
les appareils hors tension avant d’e ectuer un quelconque
branchement.
* Une fois les branchements e ectués, mettez sous tension vos
appareils dans l’ordre indiqué. Si vous ne respectez pas cet
ordre, vous risquez de provoquer des dysfonctionnements et/
ou des dommages aux enceintes et aux autres appareils.
Lors de la mise mettez sous tension l’ampli cateur de
sous tension: votre guitare en dernier.
Lors de la mise mettez hors tension l’ampli cateur de
hors tension: votre guitare en premier.
* En raison des caractéristiques de son circuit analogique, le
témoin CHECK de cet appareil peut s’allumer (e et activé) ou
s’éteindre (e et désactivé) lorsque vous mettez l’appareil hors
tension.
Utilisation de la batterie
* Une pile a été installée dans l’appareil en sortie d’usine. La
durée de vie de cette pile peut être limitée, son principal
objectif étant de permettre de tester l’appareil.
* Toute manipulation incorrecte des piles peut entraîner une
explosion ou une fuite de liquides. Veillez à vous conformer
à toutes les consignes relatives aux piles dans les documents
« CONSIGNES DE SÉCURITÉ » et REMARQUES IMPORTANTES
(fournies sur un document séparé).
* Lors du fonctionnement sur pile, le témoin de l’appareil
s’estompe lorsque la pile est déchargée. Remplacez la pile dès
que possible.
* Lors de l’installation ou du remplacement des piles, veillez
à toujours éteindre l’appareil et à débrancher les autres
appareils que vous avez éventuellement connectés. Vous
pourrez ainsi éviter les dysfonctionnement et les dommages.
* Si la batterie est presque épuisée, le son peut se déformer, ou
le temps de retard peut être raccourci, sans que cela signale
toutefois un dysfonctionnement. Si cela se produit, veuillez
remplacer la batterie.
Remplacement de la pile
1. Tenez la pédale et
dévissez la vis à
main, puis ouvrez
la pédale.
* La pédale peut
être ouverte sans
complètement
retirer la vis.
2. Sortez la pile du
compartiment et
détachez le câble
de connexion.
3. Branchez le câble sur la nouvelle pile et placez la pile
dans le compartiment.
* Respectez bien la polarité des bornes de la pile (+ et -).
4. Faites glisser le ressort sur sa base à l’arrière de la
pédale, puis refermez la pédale.
* Assurez-vous de ne pas coincer le câble de connexion dans la
pédale, dans le ressort ou dans le compartiment de la batterie.
5. En n, insérez la vis dans son logement et serrez-la.

Le son de retard est émis depuis la prise OUTPUT, et le son direct est
émis depuis la prise DIRECT OUT.

Si vous utilisez cet appareil dans une boucle d’e ets avec connexion
parallèle, insérez un connecteur factice dans la prise DIRECT OUT a n
que seul le son de retard soit produit sur la prise RETURN.
Précaution en cas d’utilisation de la prise RATE
* Utilisez exclusivement la pédale d’expression spéci ée (Roland
EV-5 ; vendue séparément). La connexion d’autres types de
pédales d’expression risque d’endommager l’appareil ou de
provoquer des dysfonctionnements.
* Utilisez le volume minimum de l’EV-5 lorsque vous spéci ez
le temps de retard maximum, et utilisez le commande REPEAT
RATE du DM-2W pour spéci er la manière dont le temps de
retard change (à savoir la courbe de changement).
Il se peut que certains réglages de ce bouton ne produisent
pas l’e et correct. Écoutez le son lorsque vous réglez le volume
minimum et le commande REPEAT RATE.
* Selon le réglage du bouton “INTENSITY”, une oscillation du son
peut arriver alors que vous manipulez la pédale, ce qui peut
causer une augmentation soudaine du volume sonore. Faites
attention de ne pas endommager votre ampli ou haut parleur.

E et de retard analogique conçu avec minutie avec des composants BBD soigneusement sélectionnés.
Outre le son du DM-2 original, vous béné ciez d’un son personnalisé spécialement mis au point par les ingénieurs BOSS.
Prise OUTPUT
Le son direct et le son de retard sont
mélangés et émis depuis cette prise.
Si un connecteur est inséré dans la prise
DIRECT OUT, seul le son de retard est
émis depuis cette prise.
Ampli cateur de guitare
Permet d’ajuster le temps de retard. Tournez le bouton vers la droite pour
réduire le temps de retard.
* Temps de retard (maximum)
S (standard) : 300 ms, C (personnalisé) : 800 ms
Permet de régler le volume du son de retard. Tournez le bouton vers la
droite pour augmenter le volume du son de retard. Tournez le bouton
jusqu’au bout vers la gauche, seul le son direct est audible.
Permet de régler le nombre de répétitions du retard. Tournez le bouton
vers la droite pour augmenter le nombre de répétitions. Si vous tournez le
bouton jusqu’au bout vers la gauche, un seul retard est audible.
* Si vous tournez le bouton jusqu’au bout vers la droite, une oscillation
peut se produire.
Prise DIRECT OUT
Seul le son direct est émis depuis cette
prise.
Prise RATE
Si vous branchez une pédale d’expression (Roland EV-5)
sur cette prise, vous pouvez l’utiliser pour contrôler le
temps de retard.
* Reportez-vous à la section « Précaution en cas
d’utilisation de la prise RATE ».
Roland EV-5
Permet de changer le caractère du son.
S (standard) : le son original du DM-2.
C (personnalisé) : un son clair et personnalisé, avec un temps de retard
étendu.
Vis à main
Lorsque cette vis est desserrée,
la pédale s’ouvre, permettant
ainsi le remplacement de la pile.

remplacement de la pile, voir
«Remplacement de la pile».
Guitare électrique
Prise INPUT
Cette prise accepte les signaux provenant
d’une guitare, d’un autre instrument ou
d’un autre appareil d’e ets.
* La prise INPUT sert également d’interrupteur.
L’alimentation de l’appareil est activée lorsque la
prise INPUT est branchée et est désactivée dès que
le câble est débranché. A n d’empêcher une usure
prématurée de la pile, débranchez le câble de la
prise INPUT lorsque vous n’utilisez pas la pédale.
Entrée DC IN
Branchement de l’adaptateur secteur (Série PSA: en option). Avec l’adaptateur secteur, vous
pouvez continuer à jouer sans vous soucier de la durée de vie de la pile.
* Utilisez uniquement l’adaptateur secteur fourni (Série PSA: en option) et branchez-le sur
une prise murale fournissant une tension appropriée. N’utilisez pas d’autre adaptateur, cela
risquerait de provoquer des dysfonctionnements.
* Si l’adaptateur secteur est connecté alors qu’une batterie est installée,
l’alimentation est fournie depuis l’adaptateur secteur.
* Nous vous recommandons de conserver les piles dans l’appareil même
lorsque vous le faites fonctionner avec l’adaptateur secteur. Ainsi, vous
pourrez continuer à jouer même si le cordon de l’adaptateur secteur se
débranche accidentellement de l’appareil.
Témoin CHECK
Ce témoin indique si l’e et est activé ou non et sert également de témoin d’usure de la
pile. Il s’allume lorsque l’e et est activé.
* Si l’appareil est alimenté par la pile et que le témoin CHECK baisse d’intensité, ou ne
s’allume pas, lorsque vous activez l’e et, la pile est presque déchargée et doit être
remplacée. Pour des instructions sur le remplacement de la pile, voir «Remplacement
de la pile».
* Le témoin CHECK indique si l’e et est activé ou non. Il n’indique pas si l’appareil est
sous tension.
