Installing the EXB-PCM08 and loading the data
For details on how to install the PCM board (EXB-PCM08: 16
Mbyte) and load the data, refer to the owner's manual of the
instrument into which you are installing the board. Here is an
overview of the process.
1 Use "Save All" (or an equivalent command) to save any
important data from the memory of the instrument to
storage media.
2 Turn off the power of the instrument into which you are
installing the board, disconnect the power cable, and then
install the EXB-PCM board (EXB-PCM08: 16 Mbyte).
After installing the board, re-connect the power cable and
turn on the power. Verify that the board was installed
correctly.
3 After you have verified that the board is correctly installed,
load the PRELOAD.PCG file from such as floppy disk
which was provided with the instrument in which you
installed the board.
Alternatively you may load either of the following data
from the PRELOAD.PCG file;
Program: Bank A and Bank B, Drum Kit: 00-15 (A/B),
Arpeggio Pattern: 000-0199 (A/B)
* On some instruments, the above banks will be displayed
as I-A, I-B, and I-A/B.
4 Load the C_BANK.PCG file or D_BANK.PCG file from
the floppy disk (EXBPCM-08FD).
When C_BANK.PCG or D_BANK.PCG is loaded from
the floppy disk, the following will be overwritten; the
Programs, Combinations, and Arpeggio Patterns in the
load destination banks.
However, the arpeggio patterns will not be loaded or
overwritten on instruments that do not contain an
arpeggiator.
The C_BANK.PCG and D_BANK.PCG data is in the
TRITON/TRITONpro/TRITONproX format. When this
data is loaded into another instrument, settings that are
specific to this model will be lost. For details refer to the
manual of the instrument into which you are installing
the EXB-PCM08.

Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the Korg EXB-PCM08 PCM
expansion board. To ensure years of trouble-free enjoyment,
please read this owner's manual carefully and use the product
correctly.
The EXB-PCM08 is a high-quality concert grand piano
library. It takes full advantage of the 16 Mbyte capacity that
include separate stereo samples for mezzo-forte and fortissimo
dynamics.
This expansion board provides highly expressive sounds
covering a broad range of styles from solo piano sounds that
deliver the true sound of a concert grand piano to piano-type
pads for ensembles.

Multisamples
The PCM board (EXB-PCM08: 16 Mbyte) contains total of 4
multisamples (PCM data) including separate mezzo-forte and
fortissimo sounds.

The multisamples in this product are identical to those
contained in the TRITON STUDIO series.
Programs, combinations, arpeggio patterns
The included floppy disk (EXBPCM-08FD) contains 32
programs and 64 combinations that use the multisamples of the
PCM board (EXB-PCM08: 16 Mbyte), as well as 6 new
arpeggio patterns.
C_BANK.PCG:
Programs (C: 000-31 new, 32-127 preloaded)
Combinations (C: 000-63 new, 64-127 preloaded)
Arpeggio Patterns (C: 6 new)
D_BANK.PCG:
Programs (D: 000-31 new, 32-127 preloaded)
Combinations (D: 000-63 new, 64-127 preloaded)
Arpeggio Patterns (D: 6 new)
New: This is new data created especially for the EXB-
PCM08. Banks C and D contain the same data.
Preloaded: This is the same preloaded data as for the corre-
sponding banks of the TRITON/TRITON pro/
TRITON proX. However, some of the combinations
64-128 in banks C/D (those that use programs 0-31
of banks C/D) substitute similar programs in order
to produce the equivalent sound.

Mise en place de la carte EXB-PCM08 et
chargement des données
Pour plus de détails concernant l'installation de la carte PCM
(EXB-PCM08: 16 Mo) et sur le chargement des données,
consulter le manuel d'utilisation de l'instrument dans lequel
vous comptez installer la carte.
Voici un aperçu de la méthode à suivre.
1 Utiliser "Save All" ("Enregistrer tout" ou une commande
équivalente) pour enregistrer toutes les données importantes
de la mémoire de l'instrument sur un dispositif de sauve-
garde.
2 Mettre l'appareil dans lequel vous installez la carte hors
tension, débrancher le câble d'alimentation puis installer la
carte EXB-PCM (EXB-PCM08: 16 Mo). Après la mise en
place de la carte, rebrancher le câble d'alimentation puis
remettre l'appareil sous tension. Vérifier si la carte est
installée correctement.
3 Après avoir vérifié si la carte est bien installée, charger le
fichier PRELOAD.PCG de la disquette fournie avec
l'instrument dans lequel vous avez installé la carte.
Comme alternative, vous pouvez charger une des données
suivantes du fichier PRELOAD.PCG;
Program: Banque A et Banque B, Drum kit: 00-15 (A/B),
motif d'arpège: 000-0199 (A/B)
* Sur certains instruments, les banques ci-dessus s'affichent
sous forme de I-A, I-B et I-A/B.
4 Charger le fichier C_BANK.PCG ou le fichier
D_BANK.PCG de la disquette (EXBPCM-08FD).
Lors du chargement de C_BANK.PCG ou
D_BANK.PCG de la disquette, les programmes, les
combinaisons et les motifs d’arpège des banques de
destination du chargement seront effacées et remplacées.
Néanmoins, les motifs d’arpège ne seront pas chargés ou
remplacés sur les instruments qui ne sont pas dotés d'un
arpégiateur.
Les données des fichiers C_BANK.PCG et
D_BANK.PCG sont en format TRITON/TRITONpro/
TRITONproX. Lorsque ces données sont chargées dans
un autre instrument, les réglages propres au modèle
spécifique sont perdues. Pour en savoir davantage,
veuillez consulter le manuel de l’instrument dans lequel
vous installez les cartes EXB-PCM08.
* Si vous avez le moindre problème, n’hésitez pas à contacter

La carte EXB-PCM08 est une bibliothèque de concerts de
grande qualité pour piano à queue. Elle tire le meilleur parti de
sa capacité de 16 Mo et contient des échantillons stéréo séparés
pour des dynamiques mezzo-forte et fortissimo.
Cette carte d'extension fournit des sons extrêmement expressifs
qui couvrent toute une série de styles allant de sons de piano en
solo, avec le véritable son d'un piano à queue de concert, à des
pads de type piano pour des ensembles.

Installation der EXB-PCM08 und Laden der Daten
Für Einzelheiten zur Installation der PCM-Erweiterungskarte
(EXB-PCM08: 16 Mbyte) und zum Laden der Daten lesen Sie
bitte die Bedienungsanleitung des Instruments, in dem Sie die
Karte installieren. Hier folgt ein kurzer Überblick.
1 Benutzen Sie den Befehl „Save All“ (oder einen ähnlich
lautenden Befehl), um alle wichtigen Daten aus dem
Speicher des Instruments auf entsprechenden Speicherme-
dien zu sichern.
2 Schalten Sie das für die Installation vorgesehene Instrument
aus, ziehen Sie das Netzkabel aus der Steckdose, und setzen
Sie dann die Erweiterungskarte EXB-PCM (EXB-PCM08:
16 Mbyte) ein. Nach Einbau der Karte schließen Sie das
Netzkabel wieder an und schalten das Gerät ein. Überprü-
fen Sie, ob die Karte richtig eingesetzt wurde.
3 Nachdem Sie sich vergewissert haben, dass die Karte
richtig installiert ist, laden Sie die Datei PRELOAD.PCG
von der Diskette o. ä., die mit dem betreffenden Instrument
geliefert wurde.
Sie können beliebige der folgenden Daten aus der Datei
PRELOAD.PCG laden;
Programs: Bank A und Bank B, Drum Kits: 00–15 (A/B),
Arpeggio-Pattern: 000–0199 (A/B)
* Bei einigen Instrumenten werden die obigen Bänke als I-
A, I-B und I-A/B angezeigt.
4 Laden Sie die Datei C_BANK.PCG oder D_BANK.PCG
von der Diskette (EXBPCM-08FD).
Wenn C_BANK.PCG oder D_BANK.PCG von der
Diskette geladen wird, werden folgende Daten über-
schrieben; die Programs, die Combinations und die
Arpeggio-Pattern der jeweiligen Zielbänke.
Bei Instrumenten, die keinen Arpeggiator besitzen,
werden die Arpeggio-Pattern nicht geladen (bzw. nicht
überschrieben).
Die Werksdateien auf den Disketten C_BANK.PCG und
D_BANK.PCG beruhen auf dem TRITON/TRITONpro/
TRITONproX-Format. Wenn Sie die Daten in ein
anderes Instrument laden, werden die intern gespeicher-
ten Daten ebenfalls überschrieben, allerdings enthalten
die Disketten nicht die Werksdaten dieses Instruments.
Weitere Hinweise hierzu finden Sie in der Bedienungsan-
leitung des Instrumentes, in welches die EXB-PCM08
eingebaut werden.
* Falls etwas unklar ist, wenden Sie sich bitte an Ihren Korg-
Händler.

Die EXB-PCM08 ist eine qualitativ hochwertige Library von
Konzertflügeln. Die Vorzüge des 16 Megabyte Speicherplatzes
wurden in der Weise ausgenutzt, dass separate Stereo-Samples
für die Dynamikstufen Mezzoforte und Fortissimo vorhanden
sind.
Diese Erweiterungskarte bietet außerordentlich ausdrucksvolle
