SETTING WATCHES HAVING 2 OR 3 HANDS ONLY (TWO POSITION CROWN).

Pull out the setting crown to position #2. Set the hands on time by turning the crown. Push the

crown back in to position #1.

SETTING WATCHES WITH A PRINTED CALENDAR (3 POSITION CROWNS)

1. Pull out the setting crown to position #3. Move the hands for-

ward by turning the crown. Observe the date as the hands move

past 12 o’clock. When the date changes it is midnight on the

watch. Set the hands to correct A.M. or P.M. time. Push the crown

back in to position #1

2. Pull the crown out to position #2 for calendar quick setting. The

second hand will keep moving. Turn the crown in one direction to

adjust the date to the desired number. Turn the crown in the oppo-

site direction if your watch has a day of the week display. After setting, push the crown back in

to position #1.

NOTE - Do NOT make this day/date adjustment when the time on the watch indicates between

9 P.M. and 4 A.M. as it will become incorrect due to the engagement of the changing mecha-

nism. It would then become necessary to readjust the calendar.

OPERATING THE CHRONOGRAPH (CHRONO)

A) SETTING THE TIME

1. Pull the crown out to the second click position

2. Turn the crown clockwise to set the hour and minute hands.

3. The date changes at approximately midnight, so be sure to set the hands to the correct A.M.

or P.M. time.

4. Push the crown back in to the normal position.

B) CORRECTING THE DATE

1. Pull the crown out to the first click position.

2. Turn the crown clockwise to quickly correct the date. Do not use this function between the

hours of 9 P.M. and 3 A.M. because the date changing mechanism is engaged and the date

correction will not be accurate.

3. Push the crown back in to the normal position.

C) OPERATING THE CHRONOGRAPH (CHRONO)

1. Push the Mode Button “C” to change the mode of the watch to chronograph timing. The

long second hand will move slowly to the 12 o’clock starting position. Unlike the smooth opera-

tion of the second hand during normal timing, this hand will move in one second increments

during chrono timing.

2. Check that the other chrono hands are in their correct zero starting position.

If not, go directly to section “E” below to reset the hands correctly, then come back to this

instruction. If yes, then you may use the chronograph as follows.

3. Push button “A” to start the chronograph timing. Push it again to stop the Chronograph. The

maximum timing is 12 hours.

4. You may “ADD” times together by starting and stopping the chronograph repeatedly.

5. After timing is completed, push button “B” to return the chronograph hands to the starting

position.

6. To return to normal time mode, push Mode button “C”. The second hand will resume keep-

ing the previously set time.

D) READING THE CHRONOGRAPH

1. When you stop the Chronograph timing by pushing button “A”, the Chronograph hands will

indicate the final reading in hours, minutes, seconds, 1/10 seconds, 1/100 seconds and

1/1000 seconds.

2. To read the final timing, use the last number located BEFORE the hand position of each

hand. The exceptions are the Chrono seconds and the 1/1000 seconds which will read at the

exact mark on it’s respective dial.

SAMPLE OF THE CHRONOGRAPH READING:

* The 1/10 and 1/100 chrono hands move for 30 seconds only at the beginning of the timing.

After 30 seconds they will stop and wait for the end of the timing. They will then indicate the

elapsed time.

** The 1/1000 chrono hand will not move to indicate the reading until the end of the timing.

For the above sample hand positions, the exact chrono reading is:

4 hours, 3 minutes and 12.614 seconds.

E) CORRECTING THE CHR0NO HANDS POSITION IF NECESSARY

If the chrono hand positions are not correctly located at the zero starting point

(12 o’clock for all chrono hands except for the 1/1000 retrograde hand which

should start at the “000” mark), then proceed as follows:

1. Pull the crown out to the first click position. Push and hold button “A” to correct the 1/10

chrono hand and the 1/100 hand to the zero or 12 o’clock position. There will be a delay of

about 3 seconds before the hands start to move.

NOTE: These hands are permanently synchronized so that one revolution of the 1/100 hand

equals one tenth of a revolution of the1/10 second hand.

2. Pull the crown out to the second click position. Push and hold button “A” to correct the

1/1000 retrograde hand to the “000” starting position. There will be a 3 second delay as

above

3. With the crown still in the second click position, Push and hold button “B” to correct the

chrono second hand to the zero or 12 o’clock position. There will be a 3 second delay before

the hand moves.

4. Push the crown back in to the normal position.

5. After the necessary corrections, go back to section “C)” for chrono operation.

HOW TO USE THE TACHYMETER (ON SOME MODELS)

The Chrono second hand only is used for this function.

Step 1. Push and release button “A”, precisely at the start of a measured kilometer (mile).

Step 2. At the end of the measured kilometer (mile), push and release button “A” again

Step 3. The Hand position, on the numbered scale at the dial perimeter, indicates your

speed in kilometers (miles) per hour.

Step 4. Reset by pushing and releasing button “B“.

HOW TO USE THE ELAPSED TIME INDICATOR

If your watch is equipped with a rotatable outer dial with one-minute gradua-

tions, this can be used in various ways to check elapsed time. For example if a

diver has a 30-minute air supply, he can set the outer ring so that the triangle is

in line with the minute hand when he submerges. The minute hand will then

indicate on the outer ring the length of time that the diver has been under water.

SCREW-DOWN CROWN

If your watch includes a screw-down crown, you have additional assurance that it will remain

watertight. To make the crown operational, it must be turned toward you until the threads are

disengaged. Then, instructions for setting must be followed. To reseal the crown, press in until

threads engage. Turn away from you until tight.

ABOUT THE POWER CELL

Your new Quartz Watch has a fresh power cell designed to provide maximum reliability for

approximately a year under normal use. If the cell is not replaced before it is exhausted, the

watch will simply stop. The mechanism should not be harmed in any manner. However, when

the power cell becomes exhausted, it should be removed at your earliest convenience to dimin-

ish the possibility of leakage. Never store your watch with an exhausted power cell in it. The

watch should be brought to an authorized Bulova dealer for replacement of the power cell.

For best performance, the proper power cell should be used.

Note: When the crown is in the “OUT” position, the motor and hands stop. Only the quartz

crystal continues to vibrate, using very little power. If the watch is to be stored for a length of

time, it is recommended that the crown be left in the “OUT” position to prolong battery life.

This does not apply to models with two hands only.

DEEP WATER LIMITED WARRANTY

Supplementary and subject to all the provisions and duration of the basic Bulova watch

limited warranty, deep sea watches are further warranted not to leak when submerged in water

to the depth shown on the dial, provided crystal and crown remain intact and the case has

been unopened. In order to assure the preservation of your watch’s water resistance, particular-

ly in those instances where the element of safety is involved, have it checked occasionally by a

competent watch technician and serviced or repaired, if necessary.

In addition, the wearer should avoid manipulation of the crown when submerged.

WATER RESISTANCE

Watch models marked only “Water Resistant” on the case back, without additional depth

markings are not to be used for swimming. For swimming, models that have the additional

marking of “50m,” “100m” or “200m” are recommended.

300 METER WATER RESISTANCE (MARKED 300m)

This product is recommended for recreational use only.The depth in meters shown on the

watch does not indicate the diving depth of the watch, but indicates the air pressure used in

the water resistance testing of the product in accordance with industry standards.

BULOVA LIMITED 3-YEAR WARRANTY: Your new Bulova timepiece is warranted only to the

original owner by Bulova for 3 years from date of purchase. The warranty only comes into force

if the warranty card is fully and correctly completed by an Authorized Bulova dealer at the time

of purchase and/or you provide original proof of purchase. Coverage: The warranty covers parts

of the watch that have failed due to original defects in materials or workmanship under normal

use, or, Bulova at its option, will replace the watch with a comparable watch. This warranty

does not cover: 1. Periodic Service and Maintenance for Mechanical Bulova watches; 2.

Damage resulting from improper handling, abnormal use, alteration, negligence or lack of care

of the watch; 3. Normal wear and tear and aging including deterioration and scratches to the

watch finish (case, bracelet, crown or crystal); 4. The battery, crystal or strap; 5. Water damage

if the model is not marked “water-resistant” and moisture or water damage to watch which are

improperly resealed after opening of the case; 6. Improperly or incorrectly performed Service

and Maintenance, repairs or servicing voids the warranty. Any Service and Maintenance,

repairs or servicing which requires opening of the case, must be performed by a properly

qualified technician, preferably an Authorized Bulova Dealer or by Bulova.

All implied warranties, including any implied warranty of merchantability are limited to the

duration of the expressed limited warranty. Bulova is not liable for any consequential or

incidental damages and any recovery may not exceed the amount paid for the watch. This

warranty gives you specific legal rights; you may also have other rights which vary from

jurisdiction to jurisdiction, so the limitations in this warranty may not apply to you.

IF SERVICE IS REQUIRED:

Bulova timepieces have been engineered to provide years of use with minimal need for service.

In the unlikely event that service is needed, first have the battery tested to be sure it still has

sufficient power. If this does not correct the problem, depending on the place of purchase of

your timepiece, follow the appropriate repair instructions below.

Packaging and Mailing Instructions: Send the watch in a durable box with protective wrapping

to protect against shock, with postage prepaid and insured for the full replacement value to the

address listed below depending on your location. The watch must be presented along with a

duly completed warranty card and/or copy of your original proof of purchase. Include

information regarding the service or repair requested with your name, address, phone number

and email address. For the safety of your watch do not include the words “Bulova” or “Watch”

on the outside of the package. Do not send in the original box. To download the Service Form

to send in with your watch, look in the Service Center section of our web site at

www.bulova.com.

POST-WARRANTY SERVICE:

Bulova’s staff of watchmakers are expert at repairing and restoring Bulova timepieces. For

repairs outside of warranty, an estimate detailing such cost will be mailed or emailed to you prior

to proceeding with repair. Chargeable work will not be commenced until Bulova has received

your approval. You may authorize Bulova to proceed with the repair by mailing in a check, cash

or money order. In the U.S. and CANADA a $12.00 charge will be assessed to cover evaluation,

postage and handling for post warranty repair estimates that are refused and for repairs not

covered under the warranty terms.

*Las manecillas de los 1/10 y 1/100 de segundos del cronógrafo se trasladan únicamente al

principio del cronometraje. Después de transcurrir 30 segundos se pararán y esperarán el final

del cronometraje. Entonces indicarán el tiempo transcurrido.

**La manecilla de 1/1000 de segundos no se trasladará para indicar la lectura hasta el final del

cronometraje.

CÓMO USAR EL TAQUÍMETRO (EN ALGUNOS MODELOS)

Únicamente el segundero del cronógrafo se utiliza para esta función.

Paso 1. Presione y suelte el botón “A” en el momento preciso en que comience la kilómetro (la

milla).

Paso 2. Al fin de la kilómetro (la milla), vuelva a presionar y soltar el botón “A”.

Paso 3. La posición de la manecilla, en la escala numerada en el perímetro de la carátula,

indica su velocidad en kilómetro (en milla) por hora.

Paso 4. Reajuste su reloj al presionar y soltar el botón “B”.

CÓMO USAR EL INDICADOR DE TIEMPO TRANSCURRIDO

Si su reloj está equipado con un aro exterior movible en incrementos de un

minuto, esta pieza puede ser usada de varias maneras para saber el tiempo

transcurrido. Por ejemplo, si un buzo tiene 30 minutos de aire, puede colocar

el aro exterior de forma que el triángulo esté en línea con el minutero cuando

se sumerja. El minutero le indicará en el aro exterior el tiempo que el buzo ha

CORONA DE ROSCA

Si su reloj incluye una corona de rosca, Ud. tiene más seguridad que el reloj se mantendrá

impermeable. Para hacer que la corona funcione, desenrósquela (hacia Ud.) hasta que quede

desenganchada. Entonces siga las instrucciones pertinentes. Para sellar la corona, empuje la

corona hacia adentro hasta que enganche. Enrósquela (en contra de Ud.) hasta que esté firme.

ACERCA DE LA BATERÍA

Su nuevo reloj de cuarzo tiene una batería nueva diseñada para proveerle servicio por aproximadamente

un año bajo uso normal. Si la batería no es cambiada antes de que se gaste, su reloj simplemente

cesará de funcionar. El mecanismo no deberá dañarse. Ahora bien, cuando la batería se gasta,

guarde su reloj con una batería gastada. Se debe llevar el reloj a un distribuidor autorizado de

Bulova para reemplazar la batería. Para el mejor funcionamiento, se debe usar la batería

correcta para su reloj.

Nota: Cuando la corona esté en la posición “OUT” las manecillas paran. Solamente el cristal de

cuarzo continuará vibrando, usando muy poca energía. Si su reloj va a estar sin uso por algún

tiempo, es recomendable que la corona sea puesta en la posición “OUT” para prolongar la

vida de la batería. No se aplica en modelos dispuestos con únicamente dos manecillas.

GARANTÍA LIMITADA DE PROFUNDIDAD

Suplemental y sujeta a todas las provisiones y duración de la garantía limitada Bulova, los

relojes de profundidad tienen una garantía que no les entrará agua cuando sean sumergidos en

agua a la profundidad indicada en la esfera, siempre y cuando el cristal y la corona se hayan

mantenido intactos y la caja no haya sido abierta. Para asegurar la continuidad de resistencia

al agua de su reloj, particularmente en esos instantes donde la seguridad es un elemento de

importancia, recomendamos que el reloj sea examinado ocasionalmente por un técnico

competente y reparado si es necesario. Además el dueño deberá evitar manipular la corona una

vez sumergido.

RESISTENCIA AL AGUA

Aquellos modelos de relojes marcados únicamente “Resistente al Agua” en el dorso de la caja,

sin disponer de indicaciones adicionales de hondura de agua no se deben usar durante la

natación. Para la natación, los modelos que dispongan de las indicaciones adicionales: “50m”,

“100m” ó “200m”.

RESISTENCIA AL AGUA HASTA 300 METROS (300m MARCADOS)

Se recomienda este producto para uso recreativo únicamente. La profundidad en metros que

se muestra en el reloj no indica la profundidad posible para el buceo del reloj, sino que indica

la presión del aire usada en las pruebas de resistencia al agua del producto de acuerdo con

las normas de la industria.

BULOVA GARANTÍA LIMITADA DE 3 AÑOS: La garantía de Bulova para su nuevo reloj

corresponde únicamente al dueño original durante el periodo de 3 años a partir de la fecha de

la compra. La garantía únicamente entra en vigencia si la tarjeta de garantía se haya llenado

completa y correctamente por un distribuidor Bulova autorizado en el momento de la compra

y/o usted provee la comprobación de la compra original. Cobertura: La garantía cubrirá las

partes del reloj que llegara a fallarse bajo uso normal debido a defectos originales en los

materiales o en la mano de obra, o, a su plena discreción, Bulova reemplazará el reloj con un
