Introduction
When the Privacy Filter is installed on a notebook, the viewing angle is
narrowed to about 60°, obscuring the screen from the left and right sides.
Although the screen becomes hard to see from the left and right sides, it
remains clearly visible from the front. The enhanced privacy resulting from
obscuring the screen from prying eyes lets you use your notebook without
having to worry about your location.
Notes
• The Privacy Filter is specially designed for Sony VAIO notebooks. It may
not be usable with all models, so make sure that it is compatible with
your notebook before using it.
• The Privacy Filter works properly even if it is warped.

Notes
• When subject to strong shock, the LCD may break, which can cause
injury. When attaching the Privacy Filter, do not exert strong force.
• When attaching the Privacy Filter, take care not to cut yourself on its
edges.
1 Clean the notebook‘s LCD by wiping it with a soft, dry
cloth.
2 Peel the protective covers away from the front and rear
surfaces of the Privacy Filter.
z Hint
If the protective covers do not peel away easily, try rubbing a piece of generic
adhesive tape at a corner to start separating the cover.
3 Fit the Privacy Filter into the notch at the top of the display.
The top of the Privacy Filter is the long edge with four projections.
4 Bend the Privacy Filter and fit the projections at the bottom
