Chapter 1 S550 usage and
operations
1.1 hardware introduction
There are power key, return key, main screen
key and menu key on the key panel.
USB port ,headset port and TF card slot are
as follows,
1.2 power on standby restart
shutdown
1.2.1Power on
Press and hold power key for 3 seconds, then
release the key after screen become light.
After power on, handheld gps icon and
factory icon will come out by turn in screen.
Notice: if the mainframe slept, press power
key will wake up the screen.
1.2.2 Standby
n normal work status, press and hold power
key for 1 second, device will enter standby status,
screen will shut down.
Notice: standby doesn’t mean shutting down,
just enter “sleep” status, if you want to wake up it,
just need press power key for 1 second.
1.2.3 Restart
Noticerestart can’t make sure all files can
be saved.

seconds, a menu will pop up, select “restarttake
out battery, and wait for 5 seconds, the device
also can restart)。
1.2.4 shutdown
Press and hold power key for 4 seconds, pop
up a menu, select “shutdown”.
1.3 assemble and disassemble SIM

1.4 how to charge and use battery
in case of data lost after taking out battery,
S540/S550 adopts 3.7V 8200mAh batterycan
supply power for 10 hours work.
The battery is not charged from factory, so
you must charge it before use. Until 5 times of
charging and discharging, the battery capacity will
reach to the top.

Notice: please charge battery in 0~45
degrees environment for prolonging battery
life,50% charge indicator is very useful for fast
charge, only need one hour to reach full charged.
Green light means charge is done, red light means
charging.

1.5 How to use and store instrument
please operate S550 as user manual strictly
For your first time use, the battery need be used
up, then charge for more than 8 hours. If you
don’t use it for long time, please fully charge the
battery, make sure store it in cool and dry place,
also the battery need charge ever once in a while,
in case of decreasing battery life after battery
power used up.

2.1 operation for android os
2.1.1 main interface of system and
startup menu
After power on, system enter basic setting
and startup programs.
program icons in startup menu can be
adjusted
1 press startup menu enter program interface
2 press and hold program icon till it bounces, then
move the icon to startup menu interface.
2.1.2 Access authority of location
information
If your android device needs GPS function or
some software has location function, then it
needs location information access authority.
Press setting-location information access
authority”, the below figure will appear, operate it
as the tip then GPS function can be used.
2.1.3 language and input method
1Press setting-language and input method,
select “language”
2Select default input method, modify input
method and keypad setting.
2.1.4 WLAN network setting
WIFI is a short distance wireless network
transporting technology, now home, shopping
mall, airport has very big coverage.
If we need use WLAN function, we must
check if there are AP nearby and work normally.

2.1.5 Sleep setting
Press PWR button for short time, the screen
will shut down, and switch to sleep mode, in this
mode, the system will enter low power
consumption status to save power. If the device
idle for a while, the system also will enter sleep
mode automatically.

2 Press drop-down button to selectwithout operation
for____ to enter sleep modetime setting.
In sleep mode, you can also receive
information and data. Shortly press power button
will wake up the device.
