IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
1. Read all instructions.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
3. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord or plug in water or other liquid.
4. Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used by or near children.
5. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or
taking off parts.

This appliance is intended for household use.
The following instructions are applicable to 120V only:
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk
of electrical shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet in only one way. If the
plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified
electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.
When using the appliance, basic safety precautions should always be followed including
the following:
Always attach plug to the appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet.
To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet.
The appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for
their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
1. A short power cord (or detachable power cord) is provided to reduce the risks of becoming
entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
2. Longer detachable power cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is
exercised in their use.

electrical rating of the appliance.

Cautions towards enabling the long-
term use of this rice cooker
Strictly observe the following to keep
the inner pot from being scratched
or cracked, or the uorocarbon resin
coating from blistering or peeling:
· Do not use the inner pot for other recipes
than those recommended.
· Do not place the inner pot over a gas re, or
use it on an electromagnetic cooker or in a
microwave oven, etc.
· Do not cook with the inner pan empty. Do not
cool the pan suddenly.
· Use the Keep Warm function for white rice or
rinse-free rice only; do not use for mixed rice,
etc.
· Do not use vinegar inside the inner pot.
· Use only the supplied spatula or a wooden
spatula.
· Do not use hard utensils such as metal
ladles, spoons, or whisks.
· Do not place a basket inside the inner pot.
· Do not place tableware and other hard
utensils or objects inside the inner pot during
washing.
· Do not clean the inner pot with hard materials
such as metal sponges or nylon scouring
sponges.
· Do not use a dishwasher/dryer to clean the
inner pot.
If the inner pot is scratched, chipped or
cracked, purchase a new one at the place
of purchase or Tiger customer service
listed in "Contact".
The inner pot's fluorocarbon resin
coating may wear and peel with
extended use. This material is
harmless to humans and this situation
presents no hindrance to actual
cooking or to the rice cookers heat
insulating capability. In the case you
would like to purchase a new inner
pan, you can do so by contacting
store of purchase or Tiger customer
service.

Do not use the rice cooker in a small
space where steam mists over the
operation panel.
Otherwise moisture and heat of steam may
deform the operation panel and harm, discolor,
deform and damage the body.
When using the rice cooker
on a sliding tabletop, pull
out the table before starting
operation so that the rice
cooker is not exposed to the
emitted steam.
Do not use a sliding tabletop with
insufcient load bearing capacity.
Otherwise the rice cooker may fall resulting in
injury, burn or malfunction. Check that the load
bearing capacity is sufcient before use.
Do not use the rice cooker near
a heat source or where it may be
splashed with water.
Doing so may result in electric shock, short-
circuiting, re, or deformation or malfunction of
the rice cooker.
Do not use the rice cooker when the
pressure adjusting hole, safety valve
or pressure reducing hole is clogged.
Doing so may cause steam leak or boiling over
resulting in burn or injury. Rice may not be
cooked well.
Do not use the rice cooker when the
tab of the inner lid is broken.
Doing so may cause steam leak or boiling over
resulting in burn or injury. Rice may not be
cooked well.
Do not cook with the inner pot empty.
Doing so may result in overheating or
malfunction.
Do not use the rice cooker on an
aluminum sheet or electric mat.
Aluminum material may generate heat resulting
in smoke or re.
Do not use the rice cooker with the
air inlet/outlet blocked or in a hot
room.
Do not place it on a carpet or plastic bag.
Doing so may result in electric shock, short-
circuiting, re or malfunction.
Do not immerse the rice cooker in or
splash it with water.
Doing so may result in short-circuiting or electric
shock.
Do not insert foreign objects such as
pins, needles or other metal objects
into the air inlet/outlet or a gap
between the parts.
Doing so may result in electric shock or in injury
due to malfunction.
When closing the lid, remove rice or
grains adhering to the upper casing
or around the hook, and close the lid
until it clicks.
Failure to do so may cause the steam to come
out or the content to boil over resulting in burn.
Do not use the rice cooker in
anyways not specically covered
in this instruction manual (and the
supplied “COOKBOOK”).
Doing so may cause the clogged pressure
adjusting hole, safety valve or pressure reducing
hole, and the content may boil over resulting in
burn.
<Examples of procedures that should not be
performed:>
Heating ingredients or seasoning inside of
plastic bags, etc.
• Using a cooking sheet or other utensil to cover
food in the rice cooker
Boiling beans separately before using them
for red rice etc.
Cooking rice with amaranths or other small
grains that may cause clogging
• Cooking rice seasoned with ketchup or tomato
sauce
Stop using the rice cooker
immediately in the event of trouble.
Failure to do so may result in re, electric shock,
or injury.
<Examples of trouble:>
The power cord and/or plug become
abnormally hot.
Smoke is emitted from the rice cooker or a
burning odor is detected.
The rice cooker is cracked, or there are loose
or rattling parts.
• The inner pot is scratched or cracked.
There are other problems or abnormalities.
Immediately disconnect the power plug from
the outlet and contact the place of purchase for
inspection and repair.
Caution
Disconnect the power plug from the
outlet when the rice cooker is not in
use.
Failure to do so may result in injury or burn,
or in electric shock or a shortcircuit-induced re
due to degradation of the insulation.
Be sure to hold the power plug when
disconnecting the cord from an
outlet.

Handle the rice cooker with care.
Dropping the rice cooker or exposing it to

Do not use on an unstable surface,
or on a table or rug that is vulnerable

Do not use near the wall or furniture.
Steam and heat may cause damage,
discoloration and/or deformation. Use the rice
cooker at least 12 inches (30cm) away from
walls or furniture.
Do not connect or disconnect the
power plug with wet hands.
Doing so may result in electric shock or injury.
Do not expose the power plug to
steam.

When using the rice cooker
on a sliding tabletop, position
the cooker so that the power
plug is not exposed to the

Never open the lid during cooking.

check that the Pressure indication on the
operation panel is off and no steam is coming

before using the rice cooker.
Operation of the rice cooker may affect the
cardiac pacemaker.
Wait until the appliance has
cooled down before performing
maintenance; this is to avoid burns
from hot surfaces.
Do not wash the entire rice cooker or
pour water into the rice cooker or its
bottom section.
Doing so may result in short-circuiting or electric
shock.
Cautions towards enabling the long-term
use of this rice cooker
Remove rice, burned rice and any other
remaining grains of rice adhering to
inside the body and inner pot.
Failure to do so may cause steam to leak out or the
contents to boil over, resulting in a malfunction of
the unit or simply in improperly cooked rice.
Do not heat (keep warm) cooled rice.
Doing so may result in malfunction or re.
Do not cover the rice cooker
with a cloth or other object
during cooking.
Doing so may cause the rice cooker
or the lid to become deformed or
discolored.
The holes on the rice cooker are
designed to maintain its functions and
performance. In extremely rare cases,
dust or even insects may enter these
holes and cause malfunction. To prevent
this, a commercially available insect
prevention sheet, etc., is recommended.
If a malfunction does occur due to
this problem, it will not be covered by
warranty. Contact the place of purchase.
Do not use the rice cooker on an
induction cooktop.
Doing so may result in malfunction.
Do not pour water more than the
"Maximum Level" line of the inner
pot when cooking.
Doing so may result in burn or enable the
contents to boil over.
Be careful of the escaping steam
when opening the lid.

Names and Functions of Component Parts
Using the touch panelTouch panel
Motion Sensor
The touch panel lights when the rice cooker detects
nearby movement. It displays information necessary for
use (operable keys only).
It goes off when not operated for a specified time
(approximately 20 seconds) and lights again when you
put a hand over the motion sensor. Depending on the
ambient temperature, the touch panel may not light even
when a hand is put over the motion sensor. In contrast,
it may light if the motion sensor is activated by steam or
illumination.
If it does not light, touch the display or key area.
When touching does not work
Check the following points when touching does not
work.
●The power plug is connected to the outlet.
Operation is not possible if the power plug is
disconnected from the outlet.
The lid is closed.
When the lid is open, all keys do not accept touching to
prevent malfunction. Close the lid before operation.
You touch with your nger.
Always touch the key with your nger directly.
You are not touching a space between the
menus or not touching two or more keys at the
same time.
Touching two or more keys is not accepted to prevent
malfunction.
You touch the operation area.
You cannot operate by touching other than the operation
area.
Sound during operation
The following sounds during cooking or keeping warm are
normal.
A humming sound (caused by fan operation)
A buzzing or crackle sound (caused by IH operation)
A hissing or bubbling sound (caused by boiling)
Clock display
The clock is 24-hour clock time. Set the clock to the right
time if it is wrong. see page P.13
Lithium battery
For lithium battery, see page P.13
Note
Do not attach a sticker or put a mark with pen on the
touch panel (operation area). Doing so may slow the
response.
Dirt or sticky paste on the motion sensor may prevent
normal response. Wipe it off completely.
Touch panel
Keys may not accept touching in the following cases:
Keys are touched in very short intervals.
The nger or key is wet or dirty.
There is interference from the ambient temperature or
humidity, or the operation status of electric devices in
nearby area.
The key is pressed strongly.
(Example) When "Plain" is selected.
All indications are shown for explanation.
Display
Although blur may occur in the display due to static electricity, it is only a temporary phenomenon and not a malfunction.
Heat Setting key
Touch to adjust the heat level in the "Plain" and "Mixed"
menus. You can select from three levels.
Audio Guide key
Voice prompts guide you in operation.
Keep Warm key
Select whether to keep warm or not after cooking.
You can select from three options: KeepWarm Off,
KeepWarm On and KeepWarm 6Hours.
● Select "Immediate KeepWarm" to start keepingwarm
again.
Rice Texture key(Hard/Soft)
Touch to select the rice texture in the "Plain" menu.
You can select from three levels.
Clock icon
Touch to set the clock.
Motion Sensor
The touch panel lights when the motion sensor detects
nearby movement.
Timer key
Touch to select the time to finish cooking.
You can select from four options: Timer 1, Timer 2, Timer
3 and Timer Soak.
Menu keys
The keys represent the available cooking menus
so that you can select the desired menu directly.
Back Next key
Touch to select the menu.
Hour Min key
Touch to select the audio of audio guide or set the timer
or clock.
Menu icon
Touch to select the menu.
Clock display
After touching the clock icon, touch the numbers directly
to set the clock.
Cancel key
Touch to cancel the selection or setting.
Start/Rinse-free key
Touch to start cooking, select rinse-free rice or confirm
various settings (e.g., clock setting and audio guide
setting).

Lithium battery
The life of the lithium battery is 4 or 5 years if the power
plug is not connected.
"0:00" flashes in the clock display when the lithium
battery has been exhausted.
Although you can cook normally, the stored clock
setting, timer setting and elapsed keep-warm time are
not recovered. Set the clock again.
Do not attempt to replace the lithium battery by yourself.
A new lithium battery can be replaced with charge. Ask
the place of purchase.
Note
You cannot set the clock during the following operations :
Cooking, Keeping warm, Timer cooking and Timer soaking.
The clock is 24-hour clock time. The rice cooker has a built-in lithium battery that stores the clock setting, timer
setting and elapsed keep-warm time even with the power plug disconnected.

Tips for cooking
Cooking rice with ingredients
Ingredients should be approximately 70 g or less for a cup of
rice.
Mix in seasonings well and put ingredients on rice.
Mix in seasonings well. Do not mix in ingredients. Otherwise
rice may not be cooked well or may burn.
Observe the maximum cooking amount in the table below when
cooking with ingredients.

Adjust water amount before putting ingredients. If you adjust
water after putting ingredients, cooked rice will be rm to bite.
Putting too much soy sauce or mirin sweet sake in pilaf or such
other food containing much oil and less water may cause the
food to burn to the inner pot or cause other damage.
Cooking glutinous rice
After rinsing, soak the rice in water approximately 30 minutes.
Level the surface so that the rice is under the water and start
cooking. The texture will be hard if the soaking time is short
and soft if long.
Cooking brown rice with white rice
Soak brown rice 1 or 2 hours beforehand.
Select "Brown" when the amount of brown rice is larger.
Select "Plain" when the amount of white rice is the same as or
larger than the brown rice.
Cooking brown rice porridge
Select "Porridge", and select "90 minutes" when cooking brown

Select "Plain" and keep the amount slightly less than the
maximum level. Cooking the maximum amount will cause
boiling over.
Cooking white rice with other cereal grains
Select "Plain" and cook at low heat when cooking rice with
other cereal grains.
Other cereal grains should be 20% or less for the amount of
white rice. The maximum cooking amount of rice with other
cereal grains is 3 cups.
Put cereal grains on the white rice when cooking. Mixing them
in may result in poor cooking result.
Cooking germinated brown rice
Select "Plain" when cooking germinated brown rice only or
mixing white rice in it.

Measure rice with the
measuring cup (supplied).
A level cup of rice makes one unit of rice
(approximately 0.18 L). Always use the
measuring cup to measure the correct amount.
Using a measuring dispenser may result in
different amount.
Observe the specied cooking capacity.

Freshly polished well-sorted rice grains are

Cooking rinse-free rice
Use the supplied measuring cup to measure rinse-
free rice.
After pouring water on rice in the inner pot, stir rice
well from the bottom so that all grains can absorb
water well. If you skip stirring, grains cannot absorb
water well resulting in poor texture.
If the poured water is cloudy, rinsing rice and
changing water once or twice is recommended.
The cloudiness is due to starch contained in rice,
not due to bran. If you cook without rinsing, rice
may burn, boil over or be poorly cooked.

For long grain rice, use the "Plain" scale line.

Caution about pressure
The pressure indication lights when applying pressure
starts. It goes off in 2 minutes after pressure is released.
Make sure that no person is near the steam

Opening the lid immediately after pressing the
[Cancel] key may result in burn.
Wait approximately 2 minutes until the

Selecting "Porridge" for additional cooking
When you increase the cooking time, for example to
add ingredients in "Porridge", touch the [Hour] key while
"KeepWarm On" is displayed, set the cooking time and
touch the [Start/Rinse-free] key. You can set the time by
1-minute increments up to 15 minutes at a time, and can
increase up to three times.
Do not touch [Cancel] before starting additional heating.
Loosen rice well before starting additional heating.
Otherwise rice may burn to the pot.
"KeepWarm 6Hours" selected
Keeping warm ends in 6 hours after cooking is completed.
"KeepWarm 6Hours" appears. The remaining keep-warm
time (6 to 1 hours) is displayed while you are touching the

Keeping rice warm and tasty
Keeping warm longer than 24 hours is not
recommended.
The following cases may result in unpleasant odor,
dry, slimy, discolored or rotten rice, or corroded
inner pot.
Keeping warm other rice than white rice or rinse-
free rice (mixed rice, etc.).
Keeping warm or adding cooled rice.
Keeping warm with the spatula left inside.
Disconnecting the power plug and keeping warm.
Keeping warm less than the minimum cooking
amount of rice.(1 cup)
Keeping warm with rice grains adhering to the
edge of the inner port or the gaskets.
Keeping warm a lump of rice with a hole in the
middle.
Keeping warm longer than the selected time.
Gather rice to the middle of the inner pot if the
amount is small. It is recommended that you
consume it soon.
Do not set 12 hours or longer timer.
In a harsh environment (e.g., in a cold area or hot
environment), consuming soon is recommended.
If you do not consume cooked rice soon, put it in
another container and consume it in good time.
Scorched rice
Cooked rice is partly scorched and the scorch will
be mixed in when you loose rice.
Good flavor of scorch just after being cooked will
be lost while rice is kept warm since the scorch
absorbs moisture over time.

When you have cooked other rice (mixed rice,
etc.) than white rice or rinse-free rice, touch the
[Cancel] key to cancel keeping warm.
Cooked porridge should be served before it
becomes sticky paste.

Do not try recipes other than those in "COOKBOOK".
Other cooking (searing or baking cake or bread) than
simmering, stewing or similar method may cause the
content to burn to the inner pot or damage the rice

Keeping warm
When cooking is completed, the food is kept warm
automatically. The elapsed keep-warm time is
displayed up to 6 hours (6 Hour) by 1-hour increments.
"6" ashes if 6 hours have passed.
Keeping warm for a long time may reduce the
avor depending on the food.
In a harsh environment (e.g., in a cold area or hot
environment), consuming soon is recommended.
As the smell of food may cling to the gaskets,
serving soon is recommended.
When you increase the cooking time
Touch the [Hour • Min] key while "KeepWarm On" is
displayed, set the cooking time and touch the [Start/
Rinse-free] key. (You can set the time by 1-minute
increments up to 15 minutes at a time, and can
increase up to three times.)
If you touch [Cancel], "KeepWarm On" disappears and
you cannot increase the cooking time. In this case, follow
the steps below.
(1) Take out the inner pot and put it on wet cloth.
(2) Keep the lid of the rice cooker open approximately 10
minutes. Wait until the body and inner pot are cooled.
(3) Set the inner pot in the body again.
(4) Start cooking from step 3 in P.31.

Cleaning
Before cleaning, disconnect the power plug and wait
until the rice cooker cools down.
When cleaning the rice cooker with a detergent, use
only standard kitchen detergent (for tableware and
kitchen utensils).
Clean with a soft sponge and cloth. Do not use hard
materials such as nylon scouring sponge. Otherwise the
rice cooker may be damaged.
Wash the inside and outside of the inner pot after
every use.
Notes
After cleaning the inner lid, make sure that the gasket
for depressurization is set in place. (If it has come off,
attach it in place.) P.37
Always keep the inner pot and lid clean to prevent
corrosion and odors.
Do not clean the rice cooker or its parts with thinner,
cleanser, bleach, disposable cloth, metal spatulas, nylon
scouring sponges or the like.
Always clean each part separately.
After washing the steam cap, wipe it immediately with
dry cloth. Otherwise water not wiped off will leave traces
of water drops.
Do not use dishwasher/dryer. Doing so may deform the
rice cooker.
Rinse the parts thoroughly since detergent remaining
on them may result in deterioration and discoloration of
part’s materials such as resin.
Parts to be cleaned after every use
Notes
Do not clean the inner pot with the abrasive side of a
heavy-duty scrub sponge. Doing so may damage the
uorocarbon resin coating.
Do not wash dishes, etc., inside the inner pot. When
turning it over to dry, do not place the inner pot on top of
dishes. Doing so may cause scratch or crack.
Be careful not to damage the heating element on the
outside of the inner pot.
Do not leave dirt and oil on the heating element on the
outside of the inner pot. Clean it if any dirt or oil is on it.
Wash it with sponge soaked in detergent
diluted with cold or lukewarm water and rinse
it with water.
Wipe it with dry cloth and leave it until it dries
completely.
Wash it with sponge under running cold or
lukewarm water.
Wipe it immediately with dry cloth and leave
it until it dries completely.

Steam cap
Notes
Always wash the steam cap after cooking rice with
cereal grains. Otherwise the steam cap may be clogged
causing a problem that the lid does not open or rice
cannot be cooked well.
Do not use the following methods to clean.
· Washing under running hot water.
· Presoaking.
· Washing hot parts under running water
immediately after cooking.

Cleaning
Detaching/attaching the steam cap
Insert your ngers into the opening of the lid
and pull up the steam cap to remove it.
Turn over the steam cap and remove the
cap body as shown in the gure.
Fit and engage the cap body to the cap lid.
Push in until it clicks.
Attach it to the rice cooker securely.
Attaching the gasket for steam cap
Carefully set the gasket in place as shown in the gure.
If it is not tting well, it may come off or cause steam leak
resulting in failure.
Notes
Do not detach the ring gasket.If it has come off, attach it
as it was.
If the gasket is hard to attach, moisten it with a little water
for smooth attachment.
