Before first use
1 Placetheapplianceonaatandstablesurface.
2 Pushexcesscordintotheopeninginthebackoftheappliance.Tox
thecord,pushitintothenarrowpartoftheopening(Fig.2).
3 Putthemainspluginanearthedwallsocket.
4 Cleanthedetachableparts(seechapter‘Cleaning’).
5 Flushtheappliance(seesection‘Flushingtheappliancebelow).
Flushing the appliance
1 Openthelidofthecoffeemaker(Fig.3).
2 FillthewatertankwithfreshcoldwateruptotheMAX
indication(Fig.4).
3 Putthejugonthehotplate.(Fig.5)
4 Settheon/offswitchto‘I’toswitchontheappliance(Fig.6).

5 Lettheapplianceoperateuntilallthewaterhasrunintothejug.
6 Switchofftheappliance.Letitcooldownforatleast3minutes
beforeyoustartbrewingcoffee.
Using the appliance
Brewing coffee
1 Openthelidofthecoffeemaker(Fig.3).
2 Fillthewatertankwithfreshcoldwateruptotherequired
level(Fig.4).
Youcanbrew4largecups(120ml)or6smallcups(80ml)withafullwater
tank
Note: The lines on the water level window correspond to large cups.
3 Takeapaperlter(type1x2orno.2)andfoldthesealededgesto
preventtearingandfolding(Fig.7).
4 Putthelterinthelterholder(Fig.8).
Note: Some versions come with a permanent lter. In this case you do not need
to use paper lters.
5 Putgroundcoffee(lter-negrind)inthelter(Fig.9).
- Forlargecups:useoneheapedmeasuringspoonofgroundcoffeefor
eachcup.
- Forsmallcups:useonelevelmeasuringspoonofgroundcoffeeforeach
cup.
6 Closethelidofthecoffeemaker.(Fig.10)
7 Placethejugwiththelidclosedonthehotplate(Fig.5).
Note: If you do not place the jug properly on the hotplate, the drip
stop prevents the coffee from owing into the jug. This may cause the lter to
overow.
8 Settheon/offswitchto‘I’toswitchontheappliance(Fig.6).
, Thepower-onlightgoeson.
9 Letthewaterpassthroughthelterintothejug.
Note: If you want to remove the jug during or after brewing, the drip-
stop system prevents coffee from dripping through the lter onto the
hotplate (Fig. 11).
10 Putthejugwiththeremainingcoffeebackontothehotplatetokeep
thecoffeehotandtopreserveitsavour.
11 Afteruse,settheon/offswitchto‘O’toswitchofftheappliance.
Note: If you want to brew another jug of coffee right away, let the appliance
cool down for 3 minutes rst.
12 Removethelterholderandthrowawaythepaperlter.Ifyouhave
usedthepermanentlter,emptyandrinseit.
Cleaning
Neverimmersetheapplianceinwateroranyotherliquid,norrinseit
underthetap.
1 Unplugtheappliance.
2 Cleantheoutsideoftheappliancewithamoistcloth.
3 Removethelterholder.
4 Cleanthelterholder,thejugandthelidofthejuginhotwaterwith
somewashing-upliquidorinthedishwasher.
5 Aftercleaning,rinsethejugwithfreshhotwater.
Descaling
Regulardescalingprolongsthelifeoftheapplianceandguaranteesoptimal
brewingresultsforalongtime.
Incaseofnormaluse(twofulljugsofcoffeeeveryday),descalethe
appliance:
- 2or3timesayearifyouusesoftwater(upto18dH);
- 4or5timesayearifyouusehardwater(over18dH).
Contactyourlocalwaterboardforinformationaboutthewaterhardnessin
yourarea.
1 Fillthewatertankwithwhitevinegar(4%aceticacid).Donotputa
lterandgroundcoffeeinthelterholder.
Note: You can also use an appropriate liquid descaler. In this case, follow the
instructions on the package of the descaler.
2 Lettheappliancecompletetwobrewingcycles(seechapter‘Using
theappliance’).
