This section describes safety precautions that must be followed in order to prevent injury
to the user or other people, or damage to property. Please thoroughly read and follow the
precautions in this manual.
The severity of injury or damage that might occur if these precautions are ignored
or the vacuum cleaner is used improperly is classied and explained below. Hitachi
is not responsible for any injury or damage that occurs as a result of ignoring these
precautions.
The device complies with international safety standards.
Do not repair or modify any part of the vacuum cleaner. Do not disassemble
any part of the vacuum cleaner unless instructed to in this manual.
Failure to heed this warning might cause leaking of the battery, the generation of heat,
re, or injury.
For repairs, please contact a Hitachi authorized service agent.
Keep the vacuum cleaner and AC adapter away from water and other liquids.
Failure to heed this warning might lead to rupturing of the battery, re, malfunction, or
electric shock.
Do not connect the terminals of the vacuum cleaner and AC adapter with
metal objects such as a wire and pin.
Do not carry or store with metal necklaces, hairpins, etc.

WARNING
Use an 100-240V outlet.
Do not use an extension cord, and do not plug the AC adapter in the same outlet
as other appliances.
Periodically clean the plug of any dust and debris by using a dry cloth.
Insert the plug of the AC adapter all the way into the outlet.
Do not damage the cord.
(Do not damage or modify the cord. Do not forcefully bend, bundle, pull, or twist
it, and do not put it under heavy objects or pinch it between objects.)
Do not use the vacuum cleaner if the cord or the AC adapter’s plug or
connector is damaged, and do not plug the AC adapter into a loose outlet.
The supply cord cannot be replaced. If the cord is damaged the appliance
should be scrapped.
Make sure the cord does not get caught in the rotary brush of the power
head.
Do not handle the plug (insert the plug into an outlet or remove the plug
from an outlet) with wet hands.
Do not touch the terminals on the AC adapter or vacuum cleaner.
To charge the vacuum cleaner, use the AC adapter that was provided with
the vacuum cleaner. Do not attempt to charge the vacuum cleaner by
using other AC adapters.
Do not use the AC adapter that was provided with the vacuum cleaner
to charge any other type of battery, even if the battery in question is a
rechargeable battery.
Failure to heed this warning might cause re or electric shock.
Outlet, plug, cord, and AC adapter
The vacuum cleaner does not turn on when you press a control buttons, even
though the battery is fully charged.
The power turns on and o when you move the AC adapter cord or connector.
The vacuum cleaner occasionally stops in the middle of operation.
The vacuum cleaner makes strange sounds in the middle of operation.
The vacuum cleaner or AC adapter is deformed or abnormally hot.
The power cord is damaged or abnormally hot.
It smells like something is burning.
You have noticed some other problems or malfunction.
Continuing to use the vacuum cleaner under these conditions could result in
smoke, re, or electric shock.
Turn o the vacuum cleaner immediately and unplug the AC adapter from
the outlet. Then, contact a Hitachi authorized service agent to request an
inspection and repair.
Do not touch the rotary brush.
Failure to heed this warning might cause injury. Be careful especially around
children,
Do not place the power head on parts of your body (on top of your feet,
etc.) when pulling the power head.

If the vacuum cleaner malfunctions or you have noticed any of the
following problems, stop using the vacuum cleaner immediately.

detergents, large amounts of our, aerosol sprays, ammable gas,

Do not use the vacuum cleaner to clean up things with sharp points
(thumbtacks, needles, toothpicks, hairpins, etc.).
Do not use the vacuum cleaner to clean up suds or foam from carpet
cleaners or other types of detergents.
Do not use the vacuum cleaner outdoors.
Do not wash any part of the vacuum cleaner with water unless that part is
listed as a part that can be washed. Do not use the vacuum cleaner in the
shower or bathtub.
Do not charge or store the vacuum cleaner in a location prone to high
humidity.
Failure to heed this warning might cause eruption, re, electric shock, or injury.
Do not lean the vacuum cleaner against a wall or other surface.
Make sure that the power head is attached when using the vacuum
cleaner stand.
The vacuum cleaner might fall over, becoming damaged or causing injury or
damage to the oor.

Others
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of
experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for
their safety.
Only allow children at least 8 years old to use the AC adapter. Give
sucient instruction so that the child is able to use the AC adapter in a
safe way and explain to the child that it is not a toy to be played with.
Instruct the child not to recharge non-rechargeable batteries because of
the danger of eruption.
Examine the AC adapter regularly for damage, especially the Cord, plug
and enclosure. If the AC adapter is damaged, it must not be used.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be carried out by children
without supervision.
Never operate the appliance without the lter.
Clean the lter when necessary.
Battery (lithium-ion battery)

Do not connect the battery to anything other than this vacuum cleaner.
Do not disassemble, modify, or solder the battery. Do not charge the
battery when it is not connected to the vacuum cleaner.
Replacement of the battery is to be performed by a trained service
technician.
Do not remove the battery except when disposing of this vacuum cleaner.
Please consult with a Hitachi authorized service agent.
Do not touch the terminals or connect them by using metal items such as
wires and pins.
Do not transport or store the battery in the same container as metal
objects such as necklaces, hairpins, coins, or keys.
Do not subject the battery to strong physical shock. For example, do
not put nails into the battery, hit the battery with a hammer, step on the
battery, or throw the battery.
Keep away from re.
Do not leave the battery near sources of heat such as a re or stove,
under direct sunlight, or in a car in the sun.
Do not use any battery other than the one specied for this vacuum
cleaner.
Do not put the battery in a microwave or an oven.
Do not submerge the battery in water or other types of liquid, or expose it
to water or other types of liquid.

Battery (lithium-ion battery)

If the liquid inside the battery gets in your eyes, please do not rub them
but thoroughly wash them with clean water immediately, and then consult
a doctor immediately.
Failure to do so might cause damage to your eyes.
Do not short circuit the supply terminals.
WARNING
Do not use the battery if it is leaking or has an abnormal odor,
discoloration, deformation, or damage due to being dropped or you
notice something unusual.
Failure to heed this warning might cause the generation of heat or smoke,
rupturing, or re. If liquid from the battery leaks onto the oor, it might damage
the oor.
Keep the battery away from infants and children.
Failure to heed this warning might cause electric shock or injury.
If the battery is leaking, do not touch it with bare hands.
Failure to heed this warning might cause skin irritation.
Do not use batteries of dierent types or old and new batteries together.
If liquid from the battery gets on your clothes, immediately wash them in
clean water. If the liquid gets on your skin, consult a doctor.

Unplug the adaptor and remove the battery pack before any cleaning or
maintenance procedure.
Batteries shall be removed from the appliance before discarding the
appliance.
Disconnect the appliance from power supply before removing the battery.
Please discard used batteries in accordance with local laws and

between 5°C and 35°C.

The packaging of the appliance protects

What to do for energy saving
When using your appliance, adjust the
speed settings according to the surface,
in order to save energy.
Normally, lower speeds are used when
cleaning hard surfaces, curtains and
sofas, while high speeds are used in for
cleaning carpets.
Waste batteries
Ensure that the waste batteries are
disposed of in accordance with
local laws and regulations.
The symbol on the battery and packaging
indicates that the battery delivered with
the product should not be considered
as household waste. This symbol may
be used in combination with a chemical
symbol in some regions. If the batteries
contain more than 0.0005 % mercury
and more than 0.004 % of lead, the Hg
chemical is added for mercury and the Pb
chemical symbol is added for lead under
the symbol. By ensuring that the batteries
are disposed correctly, you shall contribute
to the prevention of potential damage to
the environment and human health due to
improper disposal of the batteries.
Actions to be taken for energy
saving
To avoid redundant energy consumption
while using the device, set the speed
levels according to the oor you are
vacuuming.
Under normal conditions, low speeds are
used to clean the hard oors, curtains and
sofas, and high speeds are used to clean
the carpets.

3.1 Intended use
This appliance is intended for household use and it is not suitable for industrial use.

4.1 Charging the appliance
4.2 Operation
It takes up to 4 to 6 hours to charge the appliance completely. The appliance
shall not be operated while charging.
If the appliance is placed on the charging dock while it is being operated, it
shall be stopped automatically.
Place the appliance on the
charging dock.
After placing dust container
on the charging dock, push
the appliance towards the
charging dock.
1- Push the appliance release
button on the charging dock
downward and pull the
appliance towards yourself at
the same time.
2- Remove the appliance from
the charging dock.
Plug the charging adaptor to
the socket.
Press the on/o button to
operate the appliance. The
appliance starts operating with
the minimum power when the
on/o button is pressed.
When you place appliance to
the charging dock, it starts to
charge and the battery charge
percentage shall be displayed
on the screen. Percentage (%)
are increased as the appliance
is charged.
To adjust the speed level, push
the button. On the screen,
which suction mode is being
used will be shown as min,
mid and high. By pressing the
button, the speed level can be
adjusted.

The appliance may be placed for charging before the complete discharging
of the battery. The appliance may be kept continuously as charging on the
charging dock until the next operation.
Pay attention to the battery level percentage
during operation. Battery level percentage
should be tracked during usage when it is empty,
the appliance stops operating automatically.
This appliance is suitable for use on carpets and hard
oors.

Turn o and unplug the appliance before cleaning.
5.1 Cleaning the Dust container and Filters
CAUTION: Do not use benzene, solvents, abrasive cleaners, metal objects or
hard brushes to clean the appliance.
CAUTION: Deformation may occur on the lters within time as a result of
usage. It shall be replaced with a new one to prevent loss of performance.
Contact with the customer services to buy a new one.
WARNING: Do not wash the lters.
We recommend you to clean the dust container after each operation.
5 Cleaning and maintenance
Wipe the surface of the
body with a wet cloth.
In order to operate
the product at high
performance for a long
time, it may be necessary
to clean the lter by
rotating the mechanism
under the dust container. It
will help to clean the lter
easily.
Pull the emptying dust
container trigger to the last
point. Dust container lid will
be opened. Empty all the
dust it contains.

5 Cleaning and maintenance
For a detailed cleaning
of lters, remove the dust
container by pushing
the button to the left side.
Remove the dust on the
pre-lter and the plastic
lter by tapping it on a hard
surface such as a waste
bin or by using a brush.
Seperate pre-lter and
plastic lter from each
other.
To insert the plastic lter,
rstly place the plastic lter
(1), then rotate it clockwise
to lock it (2).
To take out the plastic lter,
rst rotate the plastic lter
counter clockwise (1), then
pull out the lter (2).
Attach pre-lter to the
plastic lter back.
CAUTION: Should be caught at the dust box to prevent the dust box falling.
Risk of broken and damage.

While placing the pre-lter,
make sure that arrows on
the pre-lter and the body
are aligned.
Push the roller release
button to the left side.
Fix the connector of
dustbin to the holes on the
body, then x the dustbin
until you hear the click
sound.
Remove the dust on it by
tapping it lightly to a hard
surface or remove the dust
with a brush. If any hair,
etc. is tangled, remove it by
cutting it o.
Fix the roller back to its
place by pushing.

WARNING: Do not wash the turbo brush and the main roller.
