Correct use
The GTE6 is a photoelectric proximity sensor for the optical, non-contact
detection of objects, animals and persons. The sender and receiver are
integrated into a single housing unit. The light beam output by the sender
is reected by the object to be detected. The receiver evaluates the
reected light.
Starting operation
1 Check the application conditions such as size and reectance
capacity of the object as well as background inuences and
compare with the sensitivity characteristic curve of the GTE6 type.
2 Only for connector versions: Plug in the cable socket without current
applied and screw it tight.
Only for versions with connecting cable: The following connections
apply: brn = brown, blu = blue, blk = black, wht = white.
Direct scanner onto the object to be probed. In the horizontal / vertical
direction, determine the on / o switching point
(alternating display – LED yellow) and select central position.
Remove object and set sensitivity to “max.”
Background is not detected: setting is completed.
Background is detected: reduce sensitivity until switching output
changes. Position object.
If object is not detected, turn sensitivity control in the
direction of “max.” until the switching output changes.
Remove object. Switching output changes: setting is completed.
Switching output does not change: background inuence
too strong. Check setting and application.
PNP Output (load → M): Object is detected, Output (Q) HIGH
NPN (load → L+): Object is detected, Output (Q) LOW
Installation instructions
3 The G6 housing can be tted using the tting screws supplied.
Take the maximum tightening torque from the corresponding drawing.
Maintenance
SICK light barriers are maintenance-free.
We recommend doing the following regularly:
- Clean the external lens surfaces.
- Check the screw connections and plug-in connections.
No modications may be made to devices.

Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Die GTE6 ist ein optoelektronischer Reexions-Lichttaster und wird zum
optischen, berührungslosen Erfassen von Sachen, Tieren und Personen
eingesetzt. Sender und Empfänger sind in einem Gehäuse untergebracht.
Der vom Sender ausgebrachte Lichtstrahl wird vom zu detektierenden
Objekt reektiert. Der Empfänger wertet das reektierte Licht aus.
Inbetriebnahme
1 Einsatzbedingungen wie Größe und Remissionsvermögen des
Objekts sowie Hintergrundeinüsse überprüfen und mit der Empnd-
lichkeitskennlinie des entsprechenden GTE6-Typs vergleichen.
2 Nur bei den Steckerversionen:
Leitungsdose spannungsfrei aufstecken und festschrauben.
Nur bei den Versionen mit Anschlussleitung:
Für Anschluss gilt: brn = braun, blu = blau, blk = schwarz, wht = weiß.
Taster auf Objekt ausrichten. In horizontaler / vertikaler Richtung
Ein- / Ausschaltpunkt (Wechselanzeige – LED gelb) ermitteln und
Mittelstellung wählen.
Objekt entfernen und Empndlichkeit auf „max.“ stellen.
Hintergrund wird nicht erkannt: Einstellung beendet.
Hintergrund wird erkannt: Empndlichkeit reduzieren,
bis Schalt ausgang wechselt. Objekt positionieren.
Wenn Objekt nicht erkannt wird, Empndlichkeit (Drehknopf)
Richtung „max.“ drehen, bis Schaltausgang wechselt.
Objekt entfernen. Schaltausgang wechselt:
Einstellung beendet.
Schaltausgang wechselt nicht: Hintergrundeinuss zu stark.

Montagehinweise
3 Das G6-Gehäuse kann mit den mitgelieferten Montageschrauben
xiert werden. Maximales Anzugsdrehmoment ist der entsprechenden
Zeichnung zu entnehmen.
Wartung
SICK-Lichtschranken sind wartungsfrei.
Wir empfehlen, in regelmäßigen Abständen:
– die optischen Grenzächen zu reinigen.
– Verschraubungen und Steckverbindungen zu überprüfen.
Veränderungen an Geräten dürfen nicht vorgenommen werden.

Utilisation conforme
La barrière lumineuse à réexion GTE6 est un capteur optoélectronique
pour la détection visuelle des objets, des animaux ou des personnes sans
contact direct. Émetteur et récepteur sont intégrés dans un seul et même
boîtier. Le faisceau envoyé par l’émetteur est rééchi par l’objet à détecter.
Le récepteur analyse le faisceau lumineux qui est rééchi.
Mise en service
1 Contrôler les conditions d‘utilisation telles que les dimensions
et les propriétés de réexion de l‘objet de même que l‘inuence
d‘arrière-plan et comparer avec la courbe de sensibilité du GTE6
correspondant.
2 Sur les versions enchables seulement:
Insérer et visser le boîtier de connexion, appareil hors tension.
Sur les versions avec câble de raccordement seulement:
Connexions: brn = brun, blu = bleu, blk = noir, wht = blanc.
Orienter l’appareil vers l’objet. Calculer le point de commutation / de
coupure dans le sens horizontal / vertical (le témoin passe au jaune)
et sélectionner la position médiane.
Enlever l’objet et régler la sensibilité sur « max. ».
Si l’arrière-plan n’est pas détecté, quitter le mode de réglage.
Si l’arrière-plan est détecté, réduire la sensibilité jusqu’à ce que
la sortie de commutation change. Remettre l’objet en position.
Si l’objet n’est pas détecté, faire tourner (la molette de) la sensibilité
dans le sens « max. » jusqu’à ce que la sortie de commutation change.
Enlever l’objet. Si la sortie de commutation change, quitter
le mode de réglage.
Si la sortie de commutation ne change pas, cela signie que
l’inuence de l’arrière-plan est trop forte. Contrôler l’application
et le réglage.
PNP (charge → M): l’objet est détecté, sortie (Q) HIGH
NPN (charge → L+): l’objet est détecté, sotie (Q) LOW
Consignes de montage
3 Il est possible de monter le carter G6 avec les vis de montage fournies.
Consulter le serrage maximum dans le schéma correspondant.
Maintenance
Les barrières lumineuses SICK sont sans entretien.
Nous vous recommandons de procéder régulièrement :
- au nettoyage des surfaces optiques.
- au contrôle des liaisons vissées et des connexions.
Ne procédez à aucune modication sur les appareils.

Especificações de uso
O GTE6 é um sensor de luz com reexão optoeletrônico utilizado para
a detecção óptica, sem contato, de objetos, animais e pessoas.
O emissor e o receptor são alojados numa carcaça. O raio de luz causado
pelo emissor é reetido pelo objeto a ser detectado. O receptor avalia
a luz reetida.
Colocação em funcionamento
1 Vericar as condições de operação, como dimensão, reetividade
e inuências do plano de fundo do objeto, e compará-las com a curva
característica de sensibilidade do respectivo tipo GTE6.
2 Somente para versões com conector:
conectar e aparafusar a caixa de linha sem estar ligada à tensão.
Somente para versões com cabo de conexão: Para conexão é válido
o seguinte: brn = marrom, blu = azul, blk = preto, wht = branco.
Alinhar o sensor sobre o objeto. Determinar o ponto de ligação /
desligamento (indicador intermitente – LED amarelo) na horizontal /
vertical e selecionar a posição central.
Afastar o objeto e regular a sensibilidade para “max.”.
O fundo não é detectado: conguração concluída.
O fundo é detectado: reduzir a sensibilidade até a
saída de comutação mudar. Posicionar o objeto.
Se o objeto não for detectado, girar botão giratório de sensibilidade
na direção “max.” até a saída de comutação mudar.
Afastar o objeto. A saída de comutação muda:
conguração concluída.
A saída de comutação não muda: inuência forte demais
do plano de fundo.Vericar a aplicação e o ajuste.

Instruções de montagem
3 A carcaça G6 pode ser xada com os parafusos de montagem
incluídos. O torque de aperto máximo pode ser consultado no
respectivo desenho.
Manutenção
As barreiras de luz SICK não requerem manutenção.
Recomendamos que se efetue em intervalos regulares:
- uma limpeza das superfícies ópticas.
- uma vericação das conexões roscadas e dos conectores.

Impiego conforme agli usi previsti
GTE6 è una fotocellula a riessione optoelettronica utilizzata per il rileva-
mento ottico senza contatto di oggetti, animali e persone. Emettitore e
ricevitore sono posizionati nel medesimo alloggiamento. Il fascio luminoso
emesso dall’emettitore viene riesso per il rilevamento dell’oggetto.
Il ricevitore analizza poi la luce riessa.
Messa in funzione
1 Verica delle condizioni di impiego come dimensioni e il fattore di
riessione dell‘oggetto nonché degli inussi dello sfondo e paragone
con la caratteristica di sensibilità spettrale del relativo tipo GTE6.
2 Solo per versioni con connettore:
Applicare il connettore senza tensione e avvitarlo no in fondo.
Solo per le versioni con cavo di collegamento: Per il collegamento
vale quanto segue: brn = marrone, blu = blu, blk = nero, wht = bianco.
Orientare la fotocellula in direzione dell’oggetto. Rilevare
in direzione orizzontale / verticale il punto di disattivazione /
attivazione (indicatore a LED intermittente giallo) e selezionare la
posizione intermedia.
Eliminare l’oggetto e impostare la sensibilità su «max.».
Lo sfondo non viene riconosciuto: impostazione conclusa.
Lo sfondo viene riconosciuto: ridurre la sensibilità no a
far commutare l’uscita di comando. Posizionare l’oggetto.
Se l’oggetto non viene riconosciuto, impostare la sensibilità (ruotando
la manopola) su «max.» no a far commutare l’uscita di comando.
Allontanare l’oggetto. L’uscita di comando commuta:
impostazione conclusa.
L’uscita di comando non commuta: inusso dello sfondo eccessivo.
Vericare l’applicazione e l’impostazione.

Indicazioni per il montaggio
3 L’alloggiamento del G6 può essere ssato con le viti di montaggio

Manutenzione

Uso conforme a lo previsto
El GTE6 es un sensor de luz de reexión optoelectrónico empleado para la
detección óptica y sin contacto de objetos, animales y personas. El emisor
y el receptor van alojados en la misma carcasa.El haz de luz emitido por
el sensor es reectado por el objeto a detectar. El receptor evalúa la luz
reectada.
Puesta en funcionamiento
1 Compruebe las condiciones de uso, el tamaño y la capacidad de
reexión del objeto, así como las inuencias de fondo, y compare
estos parámetros con la característica de sensibilidad del tipo GTE6
correspondiente.
2 Sólo en las versiones de conector:
Insertar la caja de cables sin tensión y atornillarla.
Sólo en las versiones con línea de conexión: Para la conexión rige:
brn = marrón, blu = azul, blk = negro, wht = blanco.
Oriente el sensor hacia el objeto. Calcule el punto de conexión y
desconexión (indicación de conmutación LED amarillo) del indicador
de recepción en sentido horizontal / vertical y seleccione la posición
central.
Retire el objeto y ajuste la sensibilidad al «max.».
El fondo no se detecta: Ajuste nalizado
El fondo se detecta: Reduzca la sensibilidad hasta que
cambie la salida de conmutación. Posicione el objeto.
Si no se detecta el objeto, girar la sensibilidad (botón rotativo)
al «max.» hasta que cambie la salida de conmutación.
Retire el objeto. La salida de conmutación cambia:
Ajuste nalizado.
La salida de conmutación no cambia: Inuencias de fondo
demasiado intensa. Compruebe la aplicación y el ajuste.
PNP (Carga → M): Se detecta el objeto, salida (Q) HIGH
NPN (Carga → L+): Se detecta el objeto, salida (Q) LOW
Indicaciones de montaje
3 La caja G6 puede jarse con los tornillos de montaje suministrados.

使用目的
GTE6 とは反射形光電スイッチで、物体、動物または人物などを光学技術に
より非接触で検知するための装置です。投光器と受光器は一つのハウジング
に格納されています。
投光器から出射された光線は検出物体によって反射されます。受光器は反射
された光線を評価します。
使用開始
1 対象物のサイズや反射率ならびに背景の及ぼす影響などの動作条件を
点検し、
GTE6 タイプの感度曲線と比較します。
2 コネクタバージョンの場合のみ：
ケーブルプラグをケーブルに張力がかからないように取り付け、ネジ
止めします。
接続ケーブル付きのバージョンの場合のみ：
接続：
brn = 茶色、blu = 青色、blk = 黒色、gra = 灰色、wht = 白色。
対象物にセンサを合わせます。水平 / 垂直方向で信号強度表示のオ
ン / オフのスイッチング ポイント（黄色い
LED 変化表示灯）を検出
し、中央の位置を選択します。
対象物を除去し、感度を「
max.」に設定します。
背景が検出されない場合：これで設定が終了しました。
背景が検知されます。スイッチング出力が変化するまで感度を下げま
す。対象物を所定の位置に置きます。
対象物が検出されない場合は、スイッチング出力が切り替わるまでダ
イヤルを「
max.」方向に回して感度 (ロータリースイッチ) を調整しま
す。
対象物を除去します。スイッチング出力が切り替わった場合：
これで設定が終了しました。
スイッチング出力が切り替わらない場合：
背景の影響が大きすぎます。
用途と設定を確認します。
PNP (負荷 → M)：対象物は検出されます、出力 (Q) HIGH
NPN
(負荷 → L+)：対象物は検出されます、出力 (Q) LOW
取付け上の注意
3 G6 ハウジングは、付属の取付けネジで固定することができます。
最大締め付けトルクについては、対応する図面を参照してください。
メンテナンス
SICK の光電スイッチはメンテナンス不要です。
推奨する定期的な保全作業 :
- レンズ境界面の清掃。
- ネジ締結と差込み締結の点検。
デバイスに変更を加えることは一切禁止されています。
