bookshelf/monitor joining the JBL Studio Monitor family designed for home use. To get the best performance from your new system,

please read these instructions thoroughly.

4. General Placement / Set-up

Room Placement

In a traditional set-up, position each speaker in a vertical orientation with the tweeter on the

top. The speakers should be placed so the listening position and the two speakers form an

equilateraltriangle.Dependingonthesizeoftheroomandthedistancebetweenspeakersthis

correlatestobetweena10to25degree"toe-in"intothecenteroftheroom.

On the back of the Primary speaker, set the bass contour switch based on the speaker's

proximitytosideboundariessuchaswalls,insideabookcase/cabinet,oronoorstands.

Recommended Bass Contour settings

Whenpositionedawayfromsideboundariesoronastandsetto0dB.

When positioned close to side boundaries or when the speaker is inside of a cabinet or

bookcase set to -3dB.

OnthebackofthePrimaryspeaker,settheL/RAssignswitchtoidentifythePrimaryspeaker

based on your selected positioning.

Speaker System Set-up

1. MakesureACMainswitchissettoO.

2. ConnecttheprovidedACcordsbetweentheACInletsonthebackofbothspeakersandtheotherendtoyourhomeACoutlet.

3. ConnectingthePrimarySpeakertotheSecondarySpeaker:

a. Hardwired:AttachoneendofthesuppliedCAT5ecabletotheDigitalLinkconnectoronthebackofthePrimaryspeakerand

theotherendtotheDigitalLinkconnectoronthebackoftheSecondaryspeaker.MaximumCAT5ecablelength20'(6m).

Thiswilldeliverthehighestlevelofaudioqualityat192kHz/32bitbetweenthetwospeakers.BothspeakersPowerLEDswill

illuminate solid White when tethered together.

b. Wireless:Eachpairof4329Phavebeenpre-associatedforwirelessconnectivityatthefactory.Maximumdistancebetween

speakershouldbe30'(9m)orless.Maximumaudioqualitythroughwirelessconnectionis96kHz/24bit.Bothspeakers

Power LEDs will illuminate solid Green when connected wirelessly.

i. Wireless Note: If for some reason the speakers in this system become un-associated from each other follow the

followingsteps:

1. Verify both speakers are On.

2. On the back of the Secondary speaker, Press and Hold the Sync button for >3 seconds. The Power LED will

illuminateandashYellowcolor.

3. On the back of the Primary speaker, Press and Hold the Sync button for >3 seconds. The Power LED will illuminate

andashYellowcolor.

4. When association is successfully completed, both Primary and Secondary speaker Power LEDs will Illuminate solid

Green.

4. Turn the volume down located on the Primary speaker.

5. SettheACmainswitchonthebackofbothspeakerstoOn.

Note:Whenpoweredup,thesystemwillboot-up,indicatedbyallLEDsonthefrontpanelsashingWhite.Oncetheboot-upprocess

is completed, the system automatically enters an initial network setup mode.

5. Connecting to a Network

For a Wired Connection

ConnecttheEthernetportontherearpanelofthePrimaryspeakertotheportonyourrouterusing

aCAT5eorhighercable.Ifwirednetworkconnectionisdetected,theStreamingLEDwillturnsolid

AmbercolorforafewsecondsandtheNetLEDturnssolidWhitecolor.

Once the connection is established, the Streaming LED and Net LED will both illimuninate solid

White.

For a Wireless Connection

Aftertheintialboot-upprocessandwithnowiredethernetconnectiontothespeaker,the

StreamingLEDwillturnsolidRedcolorandtheNetLEDwillashWhitecoloruntilconnectedto

GoogleHomeorAirPlay.

Connecting to Google Home

1. Onyourmobiledevice,downloadandopentheGoogleHomeApp.

2. Follow Google Home instructions to add devices.

3. Follow the prompts for adding devices.

4. Once added, your 4329P system is ready for use.

NOTE:Werecommendgivingthespeakeracommonnamesothatitcanbeeasilyfoundfor

streaming later. If a name other than JBL4329P is selected during this step, write it down as it will be

what is used to connect to the unit when streaming or using Bluetooth.

Connecting Wirelessly via AirPlay

1. Select the wireless network settings on your iOS device.

2. GotoWi-Fisettingsonyourmoviledeviceandnavigateto"SetupNewAirplaySpeaker".

3. Selectthespeakercalled"4329P-XXXXXX(XXXXXXcorrespondstoaMACaddress)".

4. Selectthenetworkyouwantthe4329Ptoconnectandpress"Next".

5. Followtheon-screeninstructionstocompletethe4329PsetupasanAirPlayspeakersystem.

Disabling & Enabling Network / Bluetooth Connectivity

Network/BluetoothfunctionalitycanbeturnedOshoulditberequired.

Disabling Network / BT Connectivity - On the front of the Primary Speaker, Press and

Hold the Volume and Source buttons on the front panel for >3 seconds. The NET LED will

turnRED.

Enabling Network / BT Connectivity - Press and Hold the Volume and Source buttons on front panel for >3 seconds. The NET LED

will turn WHITE.

Note:WhenNetwork/BluetoothisOthefollowingconditionsexist:

• SpeakercannotbeusedforNetworkorBluetoothstreamingwheninoroutofstandby.

• Remotecontrolisinactiveinoperationandduringstandby.

• WhenwakingupfromStandbymodeinNETOmode,allow@1minutetorestorefunctionality.

6. Audio Source Connections

Streaming Media Sources

To select Streaming as a source, rotate source control on Primary speaker or from remote control and the Streaming icon will

illuminate White.

Flashing White indicates connected to a network not playing or it is in pause.

Solid White indicates connected to a network and playing.

Chromecast

1. Launch the streaming service app you wish to listen to on phone or tablet

2. PresstheCasticoninthatapp(usuallyinupperright-handcornerofcontentapp)

3. Selectthe4329P(Ornamethatyouchoseforthesystem)

4. Start your streaming content

Apple Airplay

1. TolistentoaudioviaAirPlayonthesystem,ensureyourAppledeviceisconnectedtothesamenetwork

asthespeakersystemandselecttheSpeakerastheAirPlayaudioplaybackdevice.

2. Select your streaming content and start playing

Spotify Note

Your phone or tablet may be used as a remote control. Visit spotify.com/connect to for details.

Bluetooth Source

To select Bluetooth as a source, rotate the Source control until the Bluetooth icon is

illuminated in White.

• Ifthedevicehasnotbeenpairedbefore,theBluetoothiconwillashWhite.

• Ifpreviouslypaired,systemwillconnect,andBluetoothiconwillilluminatesolid

White.

Pairing / Connecting a Bluetooth Device

With Bluetooth source selected,

1. Press and Hold the Source control for >3 seconds.

2. BluetoothLEDwillstartashing–Speakersystemwillemitasoundprompttwice.

3. Select 4329P under your device's Bluetooth settings, starting the pairing process.

4. When connected, the Bluetooth icon will illuminate solid White color and speakers will emit sound prompt.

5. Start your device content and streaming will begin.

USB-Audio Digital Direct

1. ConnectaUSB-BcabletothePrimaryspeaker'sUSB-BAudioInputandthe

USB-Aendofthecabletoyoursourcedevice.

2. RotatetheSourcecontroltotheUSBAudioinput,theUSBAudioLEDwill

illuminate solid White.

3. Select"4329P"speakerfromyoursource'sdevicesettingsSoundoptions.

andtheBalancedLeft&RightInputsonthebackofthePrimarySpeaker.

2. RotatetheSourcecontroltotheBalancedAudioinput,theBalancedAudioLED

will illuminate solid White.

3. Start your content.

NOTE:SelectappropriateSensitivitylevelinsupportofcontent/sourceinput–

(-10dB/Highsensitivitymodeor+4dB/Lowsensitivitymode).

Analog Auxiliary (3.5mm Aux-in) Connection

1. ConnectanalogStereocablebetweensourcecomponentandtheanalog3.5mm

StereoAuxiliaryInputonthebackofthePrimarySpeaker.

2. RotatetheSourcecontroltotheAuxiliaryinput,theAuxiliaryAudioLEDwill

illuminate solid White.

3. Start your content.

7. System Control

Volume Up / Down / Mute

The volume control on the Primary speaker will raise or lower the volume level for both speakers simultaneously.

• Fromthedefaultvolumelevel,turningtheVolumecontrolClockwisewillincreasethe

volume in 1dB increments.

• LEDswillashWhitewhenmaximumvolumehasbeenreached.

• TurningtheVolumecontrolCounter-Clockwisewilldecreasethevolumein1dBincrements.

• PresstheVolumeControltoinitiateMutefunction.SelectedSourceLEDwillilluminate

andashRedwhileMutefunctioninitiated.(Opticalinputisbeingexempliedinthe

graphictotheright)

• PresstheVolumeControlagainwillun-Mute,restoringvolumetolastsetting.

Stand-by Mode

The 4329P system will enter low power standby mode automatically when no signal activity

isdetectedattheactive/selectedsourcefor>10minutes.

While the system is in stand-by, the Power LED on both the Primary speaker and Secondary

speakerwillilluminatesolidRedcolor.

Waking the system from Stand-by mode and restoring it to normal operation can be

achievedby:

• AshortpressofanybuttononthePrimaryspeaker.

• AnAudiosignalisdetectedthroughthelastsourceselected(exceptUSBorOptical),thisincludesStreamingandBluetooth

Streaming as long as Network is On

Remote Control

Included with the 4329P system is a Bluetooth hand-held remote control allowing for easy control of the primary

operationsofthesystemfromupto40'(12m).

8. Other Modes

Protection Mode

The4329Psystemisprovidedwithdierentlevelsofprotection,intherareeventthatthesystem

detects and internal malfunction, it will be represented by the selected Source icon to illuminate

solidRedcolor.Thesystemwillremaininthatstateforaslongastheprotectioneventispresent.

(Theexampletotheright,anissuehasresultedwhiletheOpticalinputwasselected.)

Software Upgrades

• Softwareupgradesareautomatic,aslongasthesystemisconnectedtoanactivenetwork.

• Ifavalidupdateisavailable,theunitwillautomaticallystarttheupdateprocesswhichwillbe

indicatedbythePowerLEDstoilluminateandashPurpleincolor.

• Whencompleted,thePowerLEDswillreturntopreviousstatusandnormaloperationwill

resume.

Speaker Detection

When powered, if the 4329P system does not detect wireless or wired connectivity between the

Primary and Secondary speakers, Both Power LEDs will illuminate solid Yellow color.

Tethered High Resolution Audio Mode – 192kHz / 24bit Connection

Whenawired/tetherconnectionviatheDigitalLink/Cat5ecableisdetectedbetweenthe

Primary and Secondary speaker, Both Power LEDs will illuminate in solid White color.

Wireless Audio Mode – 96kHz / 24bit Connection

When the Primary and Secondary speaker are connected wirelessly, Both Power LEDs will

illuminate in solid Green color.

4. Positionnement et installation généraux

Positionnement dans la pièce

Dans une conguration conventionnelle, chaque enceinte est positionnée verticalement avec

son tweeter en haut. Les enceintes doivent être placées de manière à ce que la position

d'écoute et les deux enceintes forment un triangle équilatéral. Selon la taille de la pièce et la

distance entre les enceintes, cela correspond à un « pincement » de 10 à 25 degrés vers le

centre de la pièce.

Au dos de l'enceinte principale, réglez le commutateur de contour des graves en fonction de la

distance de l'enceinte et de limites latérales telles que des parois, l'intérieur d'une bibliothèque,

d'une armoire ou du placement sur des pieds.

Paramètres de contour des graves recommandés

Lorsque la position est éloignée des limites latérales ou en cas de placement sur un support,

réglez sur 0 dB.

Lorsque la position est proche de limites latérales ou lorsque l'enceinte se trouve dans une

armoire ou une bibliothèque, réglez sur -3 dB.

Au dos de l'enceinte principale, réglez le commutateur L/R Assign pour identier l'enceinte

principale en fonction du positionnement que vous avez choisi.

Installation du système d'enceintes

1. Vériez que le commutateur d’alimentation CA est sur arrêt.

2. Branchez les cordons CA fournis entre les entrées CA à l'arrière des deux enceintes et vos prises secteurs domestiques.

3. Connexion de l’enceinte principale à l’enceinte secondaire :

a. Par câblage : Connectez une extrémité du câble CAT5e fourni au connecteur Digital Link à l'arrière de l'enceinte principale

et l'autre extrémité au connecteur Digital Link à l'arrière de l'enceinte secondaire. Longueur maximale du câble CAT5e :

20' (6m). Cela orira le plus haut niveau de qualité audio à 192 kHz / 32 bits entre les deux enceintes. Les témoins

d'alimentation des deux enceintes s'allument blancs xes lorsqu'elles sont reliées.

b. Sans l : Chaque paire de 4329P a été pré-associée en usine pour la connectivité sans l. La distance maximale entre les

enceintes doit être au maximum de 9 m (30'). La qualité audio maximale via une connexion sans l est de 96 kHz sur 24 bits.

Les témoins d'alimentation des deux enceintes s'allument verts lorsqu'elles sont connectées sans l.

i. Remarque sur le sans-l : Si, pour une raison quelconque, les enceintes de ce système sont dissociées, exécutez les

étapes suivantes :

1. Vériez que les deux enceintes sont allumées.

2. À l'arrière de l'enceinte secondaire, appuyez pendant plus de 3 secondes sur le bouton Sync. Le témoin d'alimentation

s'allume et clignote jaune.

3. À l'arrière de l'enceinte principale, appuyez pendant plus de 3 secondes sur le bouton Sync. Le témoin d'alimentation

s'allume et clignote jaune.

4. Lorsque l'association est réalisée, les témoins d'alimentation des enceintes principale et secondaire s'allument verts

xes.

4. Baissez le volume de l'enceinte principale.

5. Basculez les commutateurs d’alimentation CA à l'arrière des deux enceintes sur marche.

Remarque : à l’allumage, le système démarre, ce qui est indiqué par le clignotement blanc de tous les témoins en façade. Une fois le

processus de démarrage terminé, le système passe automatiquement à la conguration initiale du réseau.

5. Connexion à un réseau

Connexion câblée

Connectez la prise Ethernet du panneau arrière de l’enceinte principale à la prise de votre routeur

à l'aide d'un câble CAT5e ou supérieur. Si une connexion réseau câblée est détectée, le témoin

Streaming devient orange xe pendant quelques secondes et le témoin Net devient blanc xe.

Une fois la connexion établie, le témoin Streaming et le témoin Net devient blanc et xe.

Connexion sans l

Après le processus de démarrage initial et sans connexion Ethernet laire à l’enceinte, le témoin

Streaming devient rouge xe et le témoin Net clignote blanc jusqu'à ce qu'elle soit connectée à

Google Home ou AirPlay.

Connexion à Google Home

1. Sur votre appareil mobile, téléchargez et ouvrez l'application Google Home.

2. Suivez les instructions de Google Home pour ajouter des appareils.

3. Suivez les invites pour ajouter des appareils.

4. Votre système 4329P est prêt à l'emploi après l’ajout.

REMARQUE : nous vous recommandons d’attribuer un nom courant à l'enceinte an de pouvoir

la retrouver facilement lors d’une diusion audio ultérieure. si vous choisissez un nom autre que

JBL4329P dans cette étape, notez-le car il sera utilisé pour la connexion à l'unité lors d’une diusion

audio ou de l'utilisation du Bluetooth.

Connexion sans l via AirPlay

1. Sélectionnez les paramètres du réseau sans l sur votre appareil iOS.

2. Accédez aux paramètres Wi-Fi de votre appareil mobile puis à « Setup New AirPlay Speaker » (congurer une nouvelle enceinte

AirPlay).

3. Sélectionnez l'enceinte nommée « 4329P-XXXXXX » (XXXXXX correspond à une adresse MAC).

4. Sélectionnez le réseau auquel vous voulez connecter votre 4329P et appuyez sur « Next » (suivant).

5. Suivez les instructions qui s'achent à l'écran pour terminer la conguration de la 4329P en tant que système d’enceintes AirPlay.

Désactivation et activation de la connectivité réseau / Bluetooth

La fonctionnalité réseau / Bluetooth peut être désactivée au besoin.

Désactivation de la connectivité réseau / BT - Appuyez pendant plus de 3 secondes sur

les boutons Volume et Source de la façade de l’enceinte principale. Le témoin NET s'allume

rouge.

Activation de la connectivité réseau / BT - Appuyez pendant plus de 3 secondes sur les boutons Volume et Source de la façade.

Le témoin NET s'allume blanc.

Remarque : lorsque le réseau / Bluetooth est désactivé, l’enceinte fonctionne comme suit :

• L’enceinte ne peut pas être utilisée pour la diusion en réseau ou Bluetooth en mode veille ou hors veille.

• La télécommande est inactive en fonctionnement et en veille.

• Lors de la sortie de veille en mode réseau désactivé, attendez environ 1 minute pour restaurer la fonctionnalité.

6. Connexions des source audio

Sources de diusion de médias

Pour sélectionner la diusion comme source, tournez la commande de source sur l'enceinte principale ou sélectionnez depuis la

télécommande, l'icône de diusion s'allume blanche.

Un clignotement blanc indique que la connexion à un réseau sans lecture ou est en

pause.

Le blanc xe indique la connexion à un réseau et la lecture.

Chromecast

1. Lancez l'application de service de diusion que vous souhaitez écouter sur téléphone ou tablette.

2. Appuyez sur l'icône de service de diusion dans cette application (généralement dans le coin supérieur droit

de l'application de contenu).

3. Sélectionnez 4329P (ou le nom que vous avez choisi pour le système).

4. Démarrez votre contenu de diusion.

Apple AirPlay

1. Pour écouter de l'audio via AirPlay sur le système, vériez que votre appareil Apple est connecté au

même réseau que le système d’enceintes et sélectionnez l'enceinte comme appareil de lecture audio

AirPlay.

2. Sélectionnez votre contenu de diusion et démarrez la lecture.

Remarque sur Spotify

Votre téléphone ou tablette peut être utilisé comme télécommande. Visitez spotify.com/connect pour obtenir plus d’informations.

Source Bluetooth

Pour sélectionner Bluetooth comme source, tournez la commande de source

jusqu'à ce que l'icône Bluetooth s'allume blanche.

• Si l'appareil n'a pas déjà été jumelé, l'icône Bluetooth clignote blanche.

• S'il a déjà été jumelé, le système se connecte et l'icône Bluetooth s'allume

blanche et xe.

Jumelage et connexion d’un appareil Bluetooth

Avec la source Bluetooth sélectionnée :

1. Appuyez pendant plus de 3 secondes sur la commande de source.

2. Le témoin Bluetooth commence à clignoter - Le système d’enceintes émet deux signaux sonores.

3. Sélectionnez 4329P dans les paramètres Bluetooth de votre appareil, en démarrant le processus de jumelage.

4. Après la connexion, l'icône Bluetooth s'allume blanche xe et les enceintes émettent un signal sonore.

5. Démarrez le contenu de votre appareil, la diusion commence.

USB-Audio numérique direct

1. Branchez un câble USB-B dans l'entrée audio USB-B de l'enceinte principale et

l’extrémité USB-A du câble dans votre appareil source.

2. Tournez la commande de source sur l'entrée audio USB, le témoin audio USB

s'allume blanc xe.

3. Sélectionnez l’enceinte « 4329P » dans les options de son des paramètres de

votre de appareil source.

Entrée Toslink / optique numérique

1. Branchez un câble optique entre le composant source et l'entrée Toslink/optique à

l'arrière de l'enceinte principale.

2. Tournez la commande de source sur l'entrée audio optique, le témoin audio

optique s'allume blanc xe.

3. Démarrez votre contenu.

Connexion XLR / ¼" symétrique

1. Branchez des câbles XLR ou ¼" symétriques gauche et droit entre le composant

source et les entrées symétriques gauche et droite à l'arrière de l'enceinte

principale.

2. Tournez la commande de source sur l'entrée audio symétrique, le témoin audio

symétrique s'allume blanc xe.

3. Démarrez votre contenu.

REMARQUE : Sélectionnez le niveau de sensibilité approprié en fonction de l’entrée

du contenu ou de la source - (-10 dB pour une haute sensibilité ou +4 dB pour une

sensibilité basse).

Connexion auxiliaire analogique (entrée auxiliaire de 3,5 mm)

1. Branchez un câble stéréo analogique entre le composant source et l'entrée

stéréo analogique de 3,5 mm à l'arrière de l'enceinte principale.

2. Tournez la commande de source sur l'entrée auxiliaire, le témoin audio auxiliaire

s'allume blanc xe.

3. Démarrez votre contenu.

7. Commande du système

Volume haut / bas / silence

La commande de volume de l'enceinte principal augmente ou diminue le niveau du volume

simultanément pour les deux enceintes.

• À partir du niveau de volume par défaut, tournez la commande de volume dans le sens

horaire pour augmenter le volume par incréments de 1 dB.

• Les témoins clignotent blancs lorsque le volume maximum est atteint.

• Tournez la commande de volume dans le sens antihoraire pour diminuer le volume par incréments de 1 dB.

• Appuyez sur la commande de volume pour couper le son. Le témoin de la source

sélectionnée s'allume et clignote rouge lorsque la fonction Silence est active. (L'entrée

optique est représentée dans l’illustration à droite.)

• Appuyez à nouveau sur la commande de volume pour réactiver le son et restaurer le

volume à son dernier réglage.

Le système 4329P se met automatiquement en veille à faible consommation lorsqu'aucune

activité de signal n'est détectée sur la source active ou sélectionnée pendant plus de 10

minutes.

Lorsque le système est en veille, le témoin d'alimentation des enceintes principale et

secondaire s'allume rouge xe.

Pour sortir le système de sa veille et restaurer son fonctionnement normal, procédez comme suit :

• Appuyez brièvement sur n'importe quel bouton de l'enceinte principale.

• Un signal audio est détecté via la dernière source sélectionnée (sauf USB ou optique), cela inclut le diusion et la diusion

Bluetooth tant que le réseau est actif.

Télécommande

Une télécommande portative Bluetooth est incluse avec le système 4329P, elle permet la commande facile des

principales opérations du système jusqu'à 12 m (40').

• À l'arrière de l’enceinte principale 4329P, appuyez pendant plus de 3 secondes sur le

bouton Volume / Mute.

• Sur la télécommande, appuyez simultanément sur les boutons

diusion et Lecture / Pause / OK.

8. Autres modes

Mode de protection

Le système 4329P intègre diérents niveaux de protection, dans le cas rare où le système détecte

un dysfonctionnement interne, celui-ci sera représenté par l'icône de la source sélectionnée

allumée rouge xe. Le système reste dans cet état tant que l'événement de protection est présent.

(Dans l'exemple à droite, un problème est survenu alors que l'entrée optique était sélectionnée.)

Mises à niveau du logiciel

• Les mises à jour du logiciel sont automatiques, tant que le système est connecté à un réseau

actif.

• Si une mise à jour valide est disponible, l'appareil démarre automatiquement le processus de

mise à jour qui sera indiqué par l’allumage et le clignotement violet des témoins d'alimentation.

• Une fois la procédure terminée, les témoins d'alimentation reviennent à leur état précédent et

le fonctionnement normal reprend.

Détection d’enceinte

Lorsqu'il est alimenté, si le système 4329P ne détecte pas de connexion sans l ou câblée entre

les enceintes principale et secondaire, les deux témoins d'alimentation s'allument jaune xe.

Vériez vos connexions comme décrit dans la section 4, Installation du système d'enceintes.

(L'exemple à droite montre qu'aucune enceinte associée n'est détectée et que l'enceinte

principale est connectée à un réseau.)

Mode audio haute résolution câblé - Connexion à 192 kHz / 24 bits

Lorsqu'une connexion câblée via un câble Digital Link / Cat5e est détectée entre l'enceinte

principale et l'enceinte secondaire, les deux témoins d'alimentation s'allument blanc xe.

Mode audio sans l - Connexion à 96 kHz / 24 bits

Lorsque les enceintes principale et secondaire sont connectée sans l, les deux témoins

d'alimentation s'allument vert xe.

Contenu MQA

Le système 4329P prend en charge la technologie MQA (Master Quality Authenticated), il dispose ainsi de la

capacité de lire des ux audio MQA.

Lorsque la source de diusion a été sélectionnée et que la lecture d'un chier MQA a été détecté, le témoin de

la source de diusion indique le type de chier MQA en cours de lecture par les changements de couleur suivants :

• Témoin de la source de diusion allumé vert xe = chier MQA authentique.

• Témoin de la source de diusion allumé bleu xe = MQA Studio.

• Témoin de la source de diusion allumé magenta xe = rendu MQB.
