Important safety information
Read this important information carefully before
you use the appliance and its accessories and save
it for future reference. The accessories supplied
may vary for dierent products.
Danger
- Keep the supply unit dry
(Fig. 2).

- The appliance is a Class III
construction (Fig. 3).
- To charge the battery, only
use the detachable supply
unit (supply unit, type HQ87.

provided with the appliance.
- This appliance can be used
by children aged from 8 years
and above and persons with
reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities or
lack of experience and
knowledge if they have
been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of
the appliance in a safe way
and understand the hazards
involved. Children shall not
play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance
shall not be made by children
without supervision.
- Always check the appliance
before you use it. Do not use
the appliance if it is damaged,
as this may cause injury.
Always replace a damaged part
with one of the original type.
- Do not open the appliance
to replace the rechargeable
battery.
Caution
- Never immerse the charging
pad in water.
- Always make sure the
charging pad is completely
dry before you connect it to
the wall socket.
- Never use water hotter than
60°C to rinse the shaver.
- Only use this appliance for its
intended purpose as shown
in the user manual.
- The charging pad is not
intended for use in a car. It may
interfere with the automotive
electronic systems.
- For safety reasons, do not use
the shaver while you drive a car.
- For hygienic reasons, the
appliance should only be
used by one person.
- Never use compressed air,
scouring pads, abrasive
cleaning agents or aggressive
liquids such as petrol
or acetone to clean the
appliance.
- Water may trickle out of the
shaver after your rinse it. This
is normal and not dangerous
because all electronics are
enclosed in a sealed power
unit inside the shaver.
- Do not use the supply unit
in or near wall sockets
that contain an electric
air freshener to prevent
irreparable damage to the
supply unit.
Electromagnetic elds (EMF)
This Philips appliance complies with all applicable
standards and regulations regarding exposure to
electromagnetic elds.
General
- This shaver is waterproof (Fig. 4). It is suitable
for use in the bath or shower and for cleaning
under the tap.
- The supply unit is suitable for mains voltages
ranging from 100 to 240 volts.
- The supply unit transforms 100-240 volts to a
safe low voltage of less than 24 volts.
Charging
Charge the appliance before you use it for the rst
time and when the battery low indicator indicates
that the battery is almost empty.
Note: The shaver is Qi compliant.
Charging takes approx. 2 hours. A fully charged
appliance has a operating time of up to 30 minutes.
Tip: If your smartphone is compatible with Qi
charging,you can also use the charging pad to
charge your smartphone.
1 Put the adapter in the wall socket and place
the appliance onto the charging platform of the
charging pad (Fig. 5).
- The charging pad bleeps when the appliance
is correctly placed onto the charging
platform.
2 After charging, remove the adapter from the
wall socket.
Battery charging
When the shaver is charging, the charging indicator
ashes white (Fig. 6).
Battery fully charged
When the battery is fully charged, the charging
indicator lights up white continuously.
Battery low
When the battery is almost empty, the battery low
indicator ashes orange (Fig. 7).
Using the appliance
Switching the appliance on and o
1 To switch on the appliance, turn the on/o ring
anticlockwise to the ‚on‘ indication (I) (Fig. 8).
2 To switch o the appliance, turn the on/o ring
clockwise to the ‚o‘ indication (0).
Shaving
Skin adaptation period
Your rst shaves may not bring you the result you
expect and your skin may even become slightly
irritated. This is normal. Your skin and beard need
time to adapt to any new shaving system. To allow
your skin to adapt to this new appliance, we advise
you to shave regularly (at least 3 times a week)
and exclusively with this appliance for a period of
3 weeks.
Dry shaving
1 Switch on the appliance.
2 Move the shaving unit over your skin in circular
movements (Fig. 9).
Note: Circular movements provide better
shaving results than straight movements.
3 Switch o the appliance.
4 Clean the appliance after every use.
Wet shaving
For a more comfortable shave, you can also use
this appliance on a wet face with shaving foam or
shaving gel.To shave with shaving foam or shaving
gel, follow the steps below:
1 Apply some water to your skin.
2 Apply shaving foam or shaving gel to your skin.
3
Rinse the shaving unit under the tap to ensure that
the shaving unit glides smoothly over your skin.
4 Switch on the appliance.
5 Move the shaving unit over your skin in circular
movements (Fig. 9).
Note: Rinse the shaving unit regularly to ensure
that it continues to glide smoothly over your skin.
6 After use, rinse and dry your face gently
and clean the appliance (see ‚Cleaning and
maintenance‘).
Note: Make sure you rinse all foam or shaving
gel o the appliance.
Using click-on attachments
Removing or attaching the click-on
attachment
1 Make sure the appliance is switched o.
2 Pull the attachment straight o the appliance
(Fig. 11).
Note: Do not twist the attachment while you
pull it o the appliance.
3 Insert the lug of the click-on attachment into
the slot in the top of the appliance (Fig. 12).
Then press down the attachment to attach it to
the appliance (‚ click‘).
Using the click-on cleansing brush
Use the rotating cleansing brush with your daily
cleansing cream. The cleansing brush removes oil
and dirt, contributing to a healthy and oil-free skin.
1 Make sure the appliance is switched o.
2 Remove the shaving unit from the appliance
and attach the click-on brush (Fig. 12).
3 Moisten the brush with water (Fig. 13).
Caution: Do not use the appliance with a dry
brush, as this can irritate the skin.
4 Moisten your face with water and apply a
cleanser to your face (Fig. 14).
5 Switch on the appliance.
6 Gently move the brush across your skin from
the nose towards the ear (Fig. 15). Do not push
the attachment to hard onto the skin to make
sure the treatment remains comfortable.
7 After approx. 20 seconds, move the appliance
to your other cheek and start cleansing this part
of your face (Fig. 16).
Do not cleanse the sensitive area around
your eyes.
8 After approx. 20 seconds, move the appliance
to your forehead and start cleansing this part of
your face. Gently move the brush head from left
to right.
Note: We advise you to not overdo the
cleansing and to not cleanse any zone longer
than 20 seconds.
9 After the treatment, rinse and dry your face.
Your face is now ready for the next step of your
daily skincare routine.
10 Clean the click-on brush after use (see
‚Cleaning the click-on attachment‘).
Cleaning and maintenance
Cleaning the appliance
Clean the shaver after every shave for optimal
performance.
1 Switch o the appliance.
2 Rinse the shaving unit under a warm tap (Fig. 10).
Be careful with hot water. Always check if the
water is not too hot, to prevent burning your
hands.
3 Pull the shaving head holder o the bottom part
of the shaving unit (Fig. 17).
4 Rinse the shaving head holder under a warm
tap (Fig. 18).
5 Carefully shake o excess water and let the
shaving head holder air-dry completely.
Never dry the shaving unit with a towel or
tissue, as this may damage the shaving heads.
6 Reattach the shaving head holder to the bottom
part of the shaving unit (‚click‘) (Fig. 19).
Thorough cleaning
We advise you to clean the shaving heads
thoroughly once a month or when the appliance
does not shave as well as it used to.
Note: The shaving heads are locked by a blue
(Fig. 21) or an orange (Fig. 22) retaining ring. Follow
the correct instructions.
1 Switch o the appliance.
2 Pull the shaving head holder o the bottom part
of the shaving unit (Fig. 17).
3 Rinse the hair chamber and shaving head
holder under the tap (Fig. 23).
4 Turn the retaining ring anticlockwise and lift it
o the shaving head (Fig. 25).
Repeat this process for the other retaining rings.
Place them aside in a safe place.
5 Remove the shaving heads from the shaving
head holder (Fig. 26). Each shaving head
consists of a cutter and guard.
Note: Do not clean more than one cutter and
guard at a time, since they are all matching sets.
If you accidentally put a cutter in the wrong
shaving guard, it may take several weeks before
optimal shaving performance is restored.
6 Clean the cutter and guard under the tap (Fig. 27).
7 Shake o excess water.
8 Put the cutter back into the guard.
9 Place the shaving heads in the shaving head
holder (Fig. 28).
Note: Make sure the notches on both sides
of the shaving heads t exactly onto the
projections in the shaving head holder.
10 Blue retaining ring: Place the retaining ring
on the shaving head and turn it clockwise to
reattach the retaining ring.
Place the arrows on the ring in line with the
projections in the shaving head holder (Fig. 29).
Turn the ring clockwise until it clicks to indicate
that the ring is xed (Fig. 31).
- Orange retaining ring: Place the retaining ring
on the shaving head and turn it clockwise to
reattach the retaining ring (Fig. 30). Repeat this
process for the other retaining rings.
Hold the shaving head holder in your hand
when you reinsert the shaving heads and
reattach the retaining rings. Do not place the
shaving head holder on a surface when you do
this, as this may cause damage.
Each retaining ring has two recesses that t
exactly into the projections of the shaving head
holder. Turn the ring clockwise until your hear a
click to indicate that the ring is xed (Fig. 32).
11 Attach the shaving head holder to the bottom
part of the shaving unit (‘click’) (Fig. 19).
Cleaning the charging pad
1 Wipe the surface of the charging pad with a
slightly damp cloth to remove any dirt (Fig. 20).
2 Dry the surface with a dry cloth after cleaning.
Caution: Always make sure the charging pad
is completely dry before you connect it to the
power outlet.
Cleaning the click-on attachment
Cleaning the click-on brush
1 Make sure the appliance is switched o.
2 Detach the brush head from the attachment
holder.
Note: Do not twist the brush head while you pull
it o the brush base.
3 Clean both parts thoroughly with warm water
and mild soap.
4 Dry the cleansing brush with a towel.
Replacement
Replacing the cleansing brush head
The cleansing brush attachment should be
replaced every 3 months or earlier if the brush hairs
are bent or damaged.
1 Switch o the appliance.
2 Detach the brush head from the attachment
holder.
3 Throw away the used brush head (see chapter
‚Recycling‘) .
4 Attach the new cleansing brush head to the
brush base.
Replacing the shaving heads
For maximum shaving performance, we advise
you to replace the shaving heads every two years.
Replace damaged shaving heads immediately.
Always replace the shaving heads with original
Philips shaving heads.
Replacement reminder
The replacement reminder indicates that the shaving
heads need to be replaced. The shaving unit symbol
lights up continuously, the arrows ash white and
you hear a beep when you switch o the shaver.
1 To replace the shaving heads, remove the
shaving heads from the shaving head holder
one by one. See chapter Thorough Cleaning for
the instructions on how to remove the retaining
rings and shaving heads.
Note: The shaving heads are locked by a blue
(Fig. 21) or an orange (Fig. 22) retaining ring.
Follow the correct instructions.
2 To reset the replacement reminder, press and
hold the on/o button for approx. 7 seconds.
Wait until you hear two beeps.

Recycling
- Do not throw away the product with the
normal household waste at the end of its life,
but hand it in at an ocial collection point for
recycling. By doing this, you help to preserve
the environment.
Removing the rechargeable battery
Only remove the rechargeable battery when
you discard the shaver. Before you remove
the battery, make sure that the shaver is
disconnected from the wall socket and that
the battery is completely empty
Take any necessary safety precautions when
you handle tools to open the shaver and when
you dispose of the rechargeable battery.
1 Remove the bottom plate of the appliance with
a screwdriver.
2 Undo the screws in the bottom of the housing
with a screwdriver and remove the cap.
3 Undo the screws in the body and remove
the body by pushing on the shaving head
connector.
4 Remove the rechargeable battery.

After rinsing, place
the cutter back into

I do not
know if the
cleansing
brush is
suitable for
use on my
skin.
The cleansing brush
is suitable for all skin
types. However, do
not use the brush
on dry, chapped
skin, open wounds,
healing wounds,
skin recovering from
surgery or if you suer
from a skin disease or
skin irritation, such as
severe acne, sunburn,
skin infection, skin
cancer, inammation,
eczema, psoriasis
etc. Do not use the
cleansing brush if you
are taking steroid-
based medication.
The brush
feels too
harsh on
the skin.
I do not know
if the cleansing
brush is
suitable for use
on my skin.
If you experience
the brush head as
too harsh, we advise
you to start using
the Sensitive or
Extra Sensitive brush
head. The Sensitive
and Extra Sensitive
brush heads have
softer bristles. We
recommend the
Sensitive brush head
for sensitive skin and
the Extra Sensitive
brush head for extra
sensitive and dry skin.
