Potential hazards
When handling magnets or magnetic systems, wearers of pacemakers should be particularly careful
and must stand at least 20 cm away from the appliance, otherwise the pacemaker may malfunction
temporarily.
The use of magnets or magnetic systems in explosive areas is questionable. When magnets are
dropped, they may spark and then splinter. These splinters may cause eye injuries and cuts.
The magnets used in the appliance are very powerful and attract iron parts. Improper handling may
therefore result in bruising.
Keep magnets away from magnetic storage media (e.g. cheque cards, mobile phones or other data
carriers which use magnetic storage methods).
