Installing ThinkServer EasyManage software

Yo u can install the ThinkServer

EasyManage Core Server program from the ThinkServer EasyManage

CD or you can download and install the program from http://www.lenovo.com/support. After one

instance of the ThinkServer EasyManage Core Server has been installed, you can use the ThinkServer

EasyManage Agent installer to install the agent on other servers and clients on the network.

Also, the ThinkServer EasyStartup

program provides an option to add installation icons for these

products on the desktop as part of the operating system installation process.

Installation requirements

Before installing ThinkServer EasyManage software on your server, your environment must meet the

following requirements:

v Microsoft Windows Server 2000 or Windows Server 2003 is installed on the server where you intend to

install the Core Server.

v The original Windows Server operating system installation CDs are available in case files are needed

while installing the prerequisites.

v The server has Internet access to obtain prerequisites and to activate the software after the installation

is complete.

v The server has a static IP address.

v The server is not a domain controller. However, it is recommended to have the server join a domain.

v The account that you use to log in and to install the Core Server has Administrator privileges on the

server with full read/write access. Ideally, this account is also a Domain Administrator account. This

account will be used to create the initial administrator-level account used to log in to the ThinkServer

EasyManage console.

v Any previous agent from EasyManage or LANDesk must be removed prior to installing the Core

Server and Management Console.

Installation order

The order in which you install the operating system and Windows Components is critical to install

ThinkServer EasyManage software successfully. To ensure a clean, working installation of ThinkServer

EasyManage software, use the following installation order:

1. Install Microsoft

Windows

Server 2003 Service Pack 1 or Microsoft Windows Server 2000 with the

latest Service Pack.

2. Install the following Windows Components: See “Installing Windows Components on the Core

Server” on page 2.

3. Use Windows Update to install all available critical updates.

4. Download Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 or newer from the following Web site:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5

&DisplayLang=en.

Install the software using the default settings.

5. Download Microsoft Web Services Enhancement 2.0 Service Pack 3 (LANDesk Process Manager only)

from the following Web site: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=1ba1f631-

c3e7-420a-bc1e-ef18bab66122&DisplayLang=en.

Install the software using the default settings.

Note: This specific version is required.

6. Use Windows Update to install all available critical updates.

7. Launch the EasyManage installation.

8. After ThinkServer EasyManage is installed, enable Security and Patch Manager to obtain the

LANDesk 8.8 Software Updates. In the console application, click Help -> LANDesk -> Security

Updates for a guide to configuring Security and Patch Manager.

9. Install Adobe

Flash Player 9 if you plan to use the Management Console functions from the same

server on which the Core Server is installed. You can obtain Adobe Flash Player 9 from the Adobe

Web site: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

Installing Windows Components on the Core Server

To install IIS, ASP.Net, and SNMP on the Core Server, do the following procedure for each component:

1. In the Windows Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove Programs.

2. In the toolbar on the left, click Add/Remove Windows Components to launch the Windows

Components Wizard.

3. Select from the Components list:

v When installing IIS and ASP.NET, click Application Server; then, click Details.

v When installing SNMP, click Management and Monitoring Tools; then, click Details.

Select the component that you want to install:

v When installing IIS, select Internet Information Services (IIS); then, click OK.

v When installing ASP.NET, select ASP.NET; then, click OK.

v When installing SNMP, select Simple Network Management Protocol; then, click OK.

5. Click Next to continue the wizard.

6. If prompted, insert the original Windows OS CD. If the autorun launches when you insert the CD,

close it. The Windows Components Wizard will automatically detect and install the necessary files.

7. Click Finish.

Uninstalling the LANDesk Software Agent

If the Core Server has LANDesk agents on it from a previous Management Suite release, it will fail the

autorun prerequisite check. You must remove the old agents by running uninstallwinclient.exe from the

\Program Files\LANDesk\ManagementSuite folder.

Assistent für Windows-Komponenten erkennt automatisch die erforderlichen Dateien und installiert

sie.

Agenten für LANDesk-Software deinstallieren

Wenn auf dem Kernserver LANDesk-Agenten aus einem früheren Release einer Management Suite vor-

handen sind, schlägt die Prüfung der Voraussetzungen beim automatischen Ausführen fehl. Sie müssen

die alten Agenten entfernen, indem Sie die Datei uninstallwinclient.exe im Ordner \Programme\

Installation du logiciel ThinkServer EasyManage

Vous pouvez installer le programme ThinkServer EasyManage Core Server à partir du CD ThinkServer

EasyManage ou vous pouvez le télécharger et l’installer à partir du site http://www.lenovo.com/

support. Une fois qu’une instance du produit ThinkServer EasyManage Core Server a été installée, vous

pouvez utiliser le programme d’installation de l’agent ThinkServer EasyManage pour installer l’agent sur

d’autres serveurs et clients du réseau.

Le programme ThinkServer EasyStartup fournit également une option permettant d’ajouter des icônes

d’installation pour ces produits sur le bureau dans le cadre du processus d’installation du système

d’exploitation.

Configuration de l’installation

Avant d’installer le logiciel ThinkServer EasyManage sur votre serveur, vérifiez que votre environnement

respecte la configuration suivante :

v Microsoft Windows Server 2000 ou Windows Server 2003 est installé sur le serveur sur lequel vous

voulez installer Core Server.

v Les CD d’installation d’origine du système d’exploitation Windows Server sont disponibles au cas où

des fichiers seraient requis lors de l’installation des éléments prérequis.

v Le serveur dispose d’un accès Internet pour obtenir les éléments prérequis et pour activer le logiciel

une fois l’installation terminée.

v Le serveur comporte une adresse IP statique.

v Le serveur n’est pas un contrôleur de domaine. Cependant, il est recommandé que le serveur accède à

un domaine.

v Le compte que vous utilisez pour vous connecter et pour installer Core Server dispose de droits

d’administrateur sur le serveur avec des droits d’accès complets en lecture/écriture. Idéalement, ce

compte est également un compte d’administrateur de domaine. Il permet de créer le compte de niveau

administrateur initial servant à établir une connexion avec la console ThinkServer EasyManage.

v Tous les précédents agents provenant de EasyManage ou LANDesk doivent être retirés avant

l’installation de Core Server et de la console de gestion.

Ordre d’installation

L’ordre dans lequel vous installez le système d’exploitation et les composants Windows est important

pour que l’installation du logiciel ThinkServer EasyManage aboutisse. Pour garantir une installation

opérationnelle propre du logiciel ThinkServer EasyManage, utilisez l’ordre d’installation suivant :

1. Installez Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 ou Microsoft Windows Server 2000 doté du

Service Pack le plus récent.

2. Installez les composants Windows suivants : voir «Installation des composants Windows sur Core

Server», à la page 2.

3. Utilisez Windows Update pour installer toutes les mises à jour critiques disponibles.

4. Téléchargez Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 ou une version ultérieure à partir du site

Web suivant : http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-

8edd-aab15c5e04f5&DisplayLang=en. Installez le logiciel à l’aide des paramètres par défaut.

5. Téléchargez Microsoft Web Services Enhancement 2.0 Service Pack 3 (LANDesk Process Manager

uniquement) à partir du site Web suivant : http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/

details.aspx?FamilyID=1ba1f631-c3e7-420a-bc1e-ef18bab66122&DisplayLang=en. Installez le logiciel à

l’aide des paramètres par défaut.

Remarque : Cette version spécifique est obligatoire.

6. Utilisez Windows Update pour installer toutes les mises à jour critiques disponibles.

7. Lancez l’installation de EasyManage.

8. Une fois ThinkServer EasyManage installé, activez Security and Patch Manager pour obtenir les mises

à jour logicielles LANDesk 8.8. Dans l’application de console, cliquez sur Help -> LANDesk ->

Security Updates pour obtenir des instructions permettant de configurer Security and Patch Manager.

9. Installez Adobe Flash Player 9 si vous voulez utilisez les fonctions de console de gestion à partir du

même serveur que celui sur lequel Core Server est installé. Pour vous procurer Adobe Flash Player 9,

accédez au site Web d’Adobe à l’adresse suivante : http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

Installation des composants Windows sur Core Server

Pour installer IIS, ASP.Net et SNMP sur Core Server, procédez comme suit pour chaque composant :

1. Dans le Panneau de configuration Windows, cliquez deux fois sur Ajout/Suppression de

programmes.

2. Dans la barre d’outils de gauche, cliquez sur Ajouter ou supprimer des composants Windows pour

lancer l’Assistant Composants de Windows.

3. Dans la liste des composants :

v Lors de l’installation d’IIS et d’ASP.NET, cliquez sur Application Server, puis sur Détails.

v Lors de l’installation de SNMP, cliquez sur Outils de gestion et d’analyse, puis sur Détails.

4. Sélectionnez le composant que vous voulez installer :

v Lors de l’installation d’IIS, sélectionnez Internet Information Services (IIS), puis cliquez sur OK.

v Lors de l’installation d’ASP.NET, sélectionnez ASP.NET, puis cliquez sur OK.

v Lors de l’installation de SNMP, sélectionnez SNMP (Protocole simplifié de gestion de réseau), puis

cliquez sur OK.

5. Cliquez sur Suivant pour continuer dans l’assistant.

6. Si vous y êtes invité, insérez le CD du système d’exploitation Windows d’origine. Si l’exécution

automatique est lancée lorsque vous insérez le CD, fermez-la. L’Assistant Composants de Windows va

automatiquement détecter et installer les fichiers nécessaires.

7. Cliquez sur Terminer.

Désinstallation de l’agent LANDesk

Si des agents LANDesk sont installés sur Core Serveur depuis une précédente édition de Management

Suite, la vérification des éléments prérequis à exécution automatique échoue. Vous devez supprimer les

anciens agents en exécutant uninstallwinclient.exe à partir du dossier \Program Files\LANDesk\

ManagementSuite.
