no liability for damage to the product or injury to

of the product, or by use for purposes not specified by

Power and connecting cable
Use only the cable we supply to connect the device for
both charging and connecting to a laptop.
Using the batteries
Danger from heat, water and mechanical ress
Excessive heat, water and mechanical ress may cause
explosion, heat, fire, smoke or fumes. Injuries and irrevers-
ible damage to the battery may result.
Do not expose the battery (battery pack or integrated
battery) to excessive heat, direct sunlight or fire.
Do not open the housing or disassemble the battery.
Do not use the battery if there is a risk it has come into
contact with water.
Storing the battery
If the battery is not going to be used for an extended
period, set the charge level to approximately 50% of
the maximum capacity and ore it at temperatures up
to max. 30°C.
Environmental conditions
Do not expose the product to rain, snow, liquids or
moiure.

FIRST STEPS
Removing from packaging and oring
When not in use and for transpo, ore the
beyerdynamic SPACE MAX Speakerphone and
accessories in the carrying case.
This provides the be protection and prevents damage.
Securing your Speakerphone
The Speakerphone has a 1/4“ threaded hole in the centre
of its underside, which can be used to screw it onto a
tripod, for example.
Charging the battery
We recommend you use only the supplied USB cable to
charge the battery.
1. Use the cable supplied to connect the beyerdynamic
SPACE MAX Speakerphone to any andard-com-
pliant live USB-C socket (e.g. USB power adapter) via
the USB-C po. If necessary, use a USB adapter (see
„Scope of delivery“ on page7).
2. Remove the USB cable aer charging.
Quick charge
The speaker phone can be charged quickly via USB-PD
(USB Power Delivery) using the primary USB-C connector.
To quickly charge the device’s battery, the power
consumption mu be up to 30 W depending on the
charger’s peormance according to the PPS (program-
mable power supply protocol) of the USB-PD 3.0 andard.
Remarks on the life of Li-ion batteries
When fully charged, disconnect the USB cable from
the charging unit and the beyerdynamic SPACE MAX
Speakerphone.
• CAUTION! High temperatures, especially with a high
charge level, can cause irreversible damage.
If the battery is not used or is ored for extended
periods of time, it is recommended to charge it to
approx. 50% and ore it at no more than 20°C.
Switch o the battery-powered product aer use.
Power bank function
The beyerdynamic SPACE MAX Speakerphone can also
be used to charge other devices (e.g. smaphones).
Connect the device to be charged (e.g. smaphone) to
the beyerdynamic SPACE MAX Speakerphone with the
secondary USB-C po using the USB cable.
Charging stas automatically. An LED next to the
USB-C po indicates that an external device is being
charged. The LED lights up red.
Displaying the battery charge level
Briefly press the button once.
The charge level is displayed via the LED ring.
Using the product with a USB cable
connection
You can operate the beyerdynamic SPACE MAX Speaker-
phone with a PC or laptop using a USB cable connection.
1. Switch on the laptop/PC.
2. Connect the beyerdynamic SPACE MAX Speakerphone
with the desired computer using the enclosed USB
cable and the USB po.
If necessary, use a USB adapter (USB-C to USB-A, see
„Scope of delivery“ on page7).
3. If the speakerphone has not come on automatically,
switch it on with the on/o switch.
LED display of charge level:
Red*: Battery 0–25 % full
Yellow: Battery 25–62.5 % full
Green: Battery 62.5–100 % full
*) The LED flashes when the charge level is close to zero
Using the product with Bluetooth®
connection
You can operate the beyerdynamic SPACE MAX Speak-
erphone via Bluetooth® with a smaphone or PC. For this,
the Bluetooth®function mu be active, and the speak-
erphone mu be paired with the output device. You can
find inructions on how to operate the product under
Operation“ on page9.
SOFTWARE UPDATE
Firmware updates are carried out via USB-HID
using the beyerdynamic Update Hub. The so-
ware for updating the product can be down-
loaded here:
https://byr.li/firmwareupdate
The device has a firmware update function
(DFU) via USB connection to a PC (Windows and
Mac OS).
During the update process, the LED ring flashes
magenta.

COMPATIBILITY WITH PLAYBACK
DEVICES
The beyerdynamic SPACE MAX Speakerphone is compat-
ible with Bluetooth® playback devices that suppo the
following profiles:
A2DP (for audio transmission)
HFP (for phone operation)
All associated functions are only available if they are
suppoed by the playback device.
SUPPORTED AUDIO CODECS
The beyerdynamic SPACE MAX Speakerphone suppos
the audio codec SBC.
Please note that only the Codecs available in the play-
back device can be used for audio transmission.
The playback device and the beyerdynamic SPACE MAX
Speakerphone device automatically select the be
mutually available Codec: In this case SBC.
OPERATION

To switch on:
Press the on/o button for 1 to 3 sec.
To switch o:
Press the on/o button again for 1 to 3 sec.
Activating and deactivating the
Bluetooth® function
Activate:
Press the button twice, holding it down the second
time.
The LED lights up white: Bluetooth® function is activated
Deactivate:
Press the button twice, holding it down the second
time.
The LED is not lit: Bluetooth® function is deactivated.
Pairing with a device via Bluetooth®
Before you can use the beyerdynamic SPACE MAX
Speakerphone, you mu pair it with your mobile phone
or another Bluetooth®-enabled device. The connection
process may dier depending on the device.
Please refer to the relevant operating inructions of
the device with which you wish to pair the Speaker-
phone.
To eablish a connection:
9Ensure the beyerdynamic SPACE MAX Speakerphone is
switched on.
1. Press and hold the button for 1 to 3 sec.
The Bluetooth® connection mode will sta.
The LED display flashes alternately blue and red.
2. Activate the Bluetooth® function on the playback
device and search for new devices if necessary.
3. In the Bluetooth® menu of the playback device, select
“SPACE MAX” from the available devices and connect
both devices.
Aer a successful connection, the LED lights up blue.
Each time the device is switched on again, the devices
will connect as soon as they are within range of each
other.
Connecting with Google Fa Pair:
Android devices from Android 6.0+ enable a fa connec-
tion via Google Fa Pair.
1. Sta the connection to your beyerdynamic SPACE MAX
Speakerphone as described above.

on the connected device.
2. Select “beyerdynamic SPACE MAX Speakerphone.
The two devices are connected.
If the Bluetooth® connection has been lo, the LED briefly
flashes blue every 2.5 sec.
Deleting the li of already connected devices:
Press the button for longer than 10sec.
The list of already connected Bluetooth®devices
(maximum eight) is deleted and a connection to the
active Bluetooth®device is established.
A double signal tone confirms success.
Bluetooth® connection with a USB
Bluetooth® adapter
A USB Bluetooth® adapter is required to enable a wire-
less Bluetooth® connection to a laptop or desktop PC
while ensuring compatibility and synchronisation of the
corresponding commands from related communication
plaorms such as Microso Teams or Zoom. The andard
Bluetooth® protocols of laptops and desktop PCs do not
suppo these commands.
The USB WL Adapter (available as an option) has a
pairing button to allow it to be connected to a beyer-
dynamic SPACE MAX Speakerphone. It can be ored on
the underside of the beyerdynamic SPACE MAX Speaker-
phone.
For more information, please refer to the operating
inructions of your USB Bluetooth® adapter.

Conference cascade connection
The connection is intended for connecting two
beyerdynamic SPACE MAX devices in conference
cascade mode. For this, two speaker phones are
connected via the jack socket with a beyerdynamic
cascading cable (to be ordered). Pairing with the output
device is done via one of the two speaker phones
connected with the cable.
Multi-point operation
The beyerdynamic SPACE MAX Speakerphone can be
paired with severalBluetooth®-enabled devices.
In normal mode, up to eight devices can be paired.
In business mode, only one device can be paired.
Active connections are possible with up to two devices at
a time. However, playback of music and phone operation
is only possible with one device at a time. Phone opera-
tion has priority over playback of music, i.e. playback of
music is interrupted during phone calls.

Setting up multi point:
1. Connect the Speakerphone to the fir device (see
„Pairing with a device via Bluetooth®“ on page<?>).
2. Deactivate the Bluetooth® connection on the fir
device.
3. Connect the Speakerphone to the second device (see
„Pairing with a device via Bluetooth®“ on page<?>).
4. Reactivate the Bluetooth® connection of the fir
device that automatically connects to the product.
Once both devices are paired with the Speakerphone,
the speakerphone connects to both devices each time
it is switched on.
Using multi point:
9If you have connected the speakerphone with two
devices and have ju activated media playback:
Briefly press the button once to accept an
incoming call.

Adjuing the volume
To increase/decrease the volume:
In ages: Briefly press the / button.
Continuously: Hold down the / button.
A signal tone sounds when the maximum/minimum
volume is reached.

White: zero*–full volume**

Using the mute function
To switch mute on/o:
Briefly press the button.
Icon is a steady red when mute.
Briefly press the button again.
Mute is cancelled.
Playing media
The functions described depend on the playback device
and playback device soware and may not be avail-
able.
To a / pause playback:
Briefly press the button once.
To play the next / previous track:
Briefly press the button twice / three times.
Calling up the personal assiant
To call up the personal assiant of your smaphone or
tablet:
Press the button for 1 to 3sec.
Using Sound-Activated Lighting Mode
When Sound-Activated Lighting Mode is activated, the
LED ring lights up in time with the audio signals.
To switch on the function:
Press the button and button simultaneously
for 1 to 3sec.
To switch o the function:
Press the button and button simultaneously
for 1 to 3sec.
Using Business Mode
In Business Mode, a maximum of one device can be
paired with the beyerdynamic SPACE MAX Speakerphone.
The pairing li is automatically deleted when the speak-
erphone is disconnected or switched o.
To call up Business Mode:
Press the button and button simultaneously
for 1 to 3sec.
To deactivate Business Mode:
Press the button and button simultaneously
for 1 to 3sec.
Using Stealth Mode
In Stealth Mode, the illumination of the LED ring on the
beyerdynamic Speakerphone can be switched o
without switching othe speakerphone.
Operating in Stealth Mode increases battery life during
operation.
To activate Stealth Mode:
Press the button and button simultaneously
for 1 to 3sec.
The lighting on the LED ring goes out.
To deactivate Stealth Mode:
Press the button and button simultaneously
for 1 to 3sec.
The lighting on the LED ring comes on.
Stealth Mode is also deactivated when the speaker-
phone is switched o and on again.

Settings for be sound
To achieve the be possible sound with your
beyerdynamic SPACE MAX Speakerphone via Bluetooth®,
please observe the following practical tips:
1. Set the volume to minimum on your beyerdynamic
SPACE MAX Speakerphone and to maximum on the
playback device.
2. Then adju the volume only on your beyerdynamic
SPACE MAX Speakerphone and not on the playback
device.
This applies only to playback devices that do not auto-
matically synchronise the volume. On playback devices
that automatically synchronise the volume (e.g. iPhone,
iPad, various Android smaphones), the volume on the
speakerphone is always identical to the volume of the
playback device.
3. Deactivate any audio eects that may be present in
the soware of the playback device.
Attaching a Kensington lock
To attach and lock the lock
1. Loop the lock cable around a secure anchor and
inse the lock head into the Kensington socket of your
Speakerphone.
2. Lock the lock with the enclosed key.
To open and remove the lock
1. Open the lock with the enclosed key.
2. Pull the lock head out of the Kensington socket and

DISPOSAL

from household wae at the end of their
life cycle.
Always dispose of used devices in accordance with

Battery disposal
Both disposable and rechargeable batteries mu be
disposed of separately from the product aer use in
accordance with the regulations in force. They mu
not be disposed of in household wae.
Both disposable and rechargeable batteries mu be
discharged and removed before disposal.
IMPORTANT: Non-deructive removal of either dispo-
sable or rechargeable batteries by the end user is not
possible with this product. Please contact beyerdynamic
or consult independent specialis.

Strom- und Anschlusskabel
Verwenden Sie zum Anschluss des Geräts sowohl für das
Aufladen als auch für den Anschluss an einen Laptop nur
das von uns mitgeliefee Kabel.
Verwenden der Akkus
Gefahr durch Hitze, Wasser und mechanische
Belaung
Bei zu großer Hitze, Wasser und zu hoher mechanischer
Belaung beeht die Gefahr von Explosion, Hitze-, Feuer-,
Rauch- oder Gasentwicklung. Verletzungen und irrever-
sible Schäden am Akku können die Folge sein.
Den Akku (Akkupack oder eingebauter Akku) nicht über-
mäßiger Hitze, direkter Sonneneinrahlung oder Feuer
aussetzen.
Nicht das Gehäuse önen und den Akku nicht zerlegen.
Den Akku nicht verwenden, falls er in Kontakt mit
Wasser gekommen sein könnte.
Lagerung des Akkus
Sollte der Akku längere Zeit nicht verwendet werden,
den Ladezuand auf ungefähr 50% der maximalen
Kapazität einellen und bei Temperaturen bis max.
30°C lagern.
Umweltbedingungen
Das Produkt weder Regen noch Schnee, Flüssigkeiten
oder Feuchtigkeit aussetzen.

ERSTE SCHRITTE
Aus der Verpackung nehmen und
verauen
Verauen Sie bei Nichtgebrauch und zum Transpo
das beyerdynamic SPACE MAX Speakerphone und das
Zubehör in einer Tragetasche.
Sie sorgen dadurch für been Schutz und vermeiden
Beschädigungen.
Speakerphone fixieren
Das Speakerphone besitzt eine 1/4“ Gewindebohrung
in der Mitte seiner Unterseite über die es z. B. auf einem
Stativ fegeschraubt werden kann.
Akku aufladen
Wir empfehlen, zum Aufladen des Akkus nur das mitge-
liefee USB-Kabel zu verwenden.
1. beyerdynamic SPACE MAX Speakerphone mit dem
mitgeliefeen Kabel über den primären USB-C-
Anschluss an eine beliebige andardkonforme
spannungsführende USB-C-Buchse (z.B. USB-Netz-
teil) anschließen. Gegebenenfalls USB-Adapter (siehe
„Lieferumfang“ auf Seite19) verwenden.
2. Nach dem Ladevorgang das USB-Kabel enernen.
Schnelles Laden
Schnelles Aufladen des Speakerphones i über USB-PD
(USB Power Delivery) mit primärem USB-C Konnektor
möglich.
Um die Batterie des Geräts schnell aufzuladen muss die
Leiungsaufnahme, in Abhängigkeit der Leiungsfä-
higkeit des Ladegeräts gemäß dem PPS (programmable
power supply protocol) des USB-PD 3.0-Standards, bis
zu 30W betragen.
Hinweise zur Lebensdauer von Li-Ion-Akkus
Nach volländigem Laden das USB-Kabel vom Lade-
gerät und beyerdynamic SPACE MAX Speakerphone
trennen.
• ACHTUNG! Hohe Temperaturen, vor allem mit hohem
Ladezuand, können zu irreversiblen Schäden führen.
Wird der Akku längere Zeit nicht verwendet bzw. gela-
ge, empfiehlt es sich, den Akku auf ungefähr 50% der
Ladung zu bringen und bei Temperaturen bis max. 20°C
zu lagern.
Nach dem Gebrauch das akkugespeie Produkt
ausschalten.
Powerbank-Funktion
Das beyerdynamic SPACE MAX Speakerphone kann
auch zum Aufladen anderer Geräte (z. B. Smaphones)
verwendet werden.
Zu ladendes Gerät (z. B. Smaphone) mit USB-Kabel mit
dem sekundären USB-C-Anschluss mit dem beyerdy-
namic SPACE MAX Speakerphone verbinden.
Der Ladevorgang staet automatisch. Eine LED neben
dem USB-C-Anschluss zeigt den Ladevorgang eines
externen Geräts an. Die LED leuchtet rot.
Batterieladezuand anzeigen
Tae 1x kurz drücken.
Der Ladezustand wird über den LED-Ring angezeigt.
Produkt mit USB-Kabelverbindung
verwenden
Sie können das beyerdynamic SPACE MAX Speakerphone
über eine USB-Kabelverbindung mit einem PC oder
Laptop betreiben.
1. Laptop/PC anschalten.
2. beyerdynamic SPACE MAX Speakerphone mit dem
beiliegenden USB-Kabel über den USB-Anschluss mit
dem gewünschten Rechner verbinden.
Wenn notwendig rechnerseitig einen USB-Adapter
(USB-C auf USB-A, siehe „Lieferumfang“ auf Seite19)
verwenden.
3. Wenn das Speakerphone sich nicht automatisch
angeschaltet hat, dieses mit dem Schalter Ein/Aus
anschalten.
LED-Anzeige des Ladezuands:
Rot*: Akku 0 – 25 % voll
Gelb: Akku 25 – 62,5 % voll
Grün: Akku 62,5 – 100 % voll
*) Bei einem Ladezuand nahe Null blinkt die LED
Produkt mit Bluetooth®-Verbindung
verwenden
Sie können das beyerdynamic SPACE MAX Speakerphone
per Bluetooth® mit einem Smaphone oder PC betreiben.
Hierzu muss die Bluetooth®-Funktion aktiv sein und das
Speakerphone mit dem Ausgabegerät gekoppelt sein
(Pairing). Hinweise zur Bedienung finden Sie unter „Bedie-
nung“ auf Seite21.
