준비
충전식 배터리 A
1부속된 충전식 배터리 NH-14WM (A)을 바른 향향으
로 충전식 배터리실에 넣습니다.
2부속된 AC 전원 어댑터를 충전 스탠드에 접속하고 AC
전원 어댑터를 가정용 전원(주전원)에 접속합니다.
3본체를 충전 스탠드에 올려 놓습니다.
CHARGE 램프가 점등합니다.
약 30분 충전하면 약 3시간 사용할 수 있습니다.
완전 충전하려면 약 6시간 걸립니다.
충전이 끝나면 CHARGE 램프가 꺼집니다.
주의점
• 충전 중에는 본 제품을 사용하지 마십시오. 사용하실 때에는
본 제품을 충전 스탠드에서 빼 주십시오.
-충전 중에 본 제품을 사용하면 배터리에 충전되지 않습니
다.
-충전 중에 본 제품을 사용하면 고장의 원인이 됩니다.
-본 제품에 충전식 배터리를 장착하지 않은 상태에서는 충전
스탠드에 올려놓지 마십시오. 고장의 원인이 됩니다.
AC 전원 어댑터에 관한 주의
반드시 부속된 AC 전원 어댑터를 사용하십시오. 다른 AC 전

주의
• 전지를 교환하면 SOUND와 MODE 버튼의 설정은 소거됩

테이프 재생하기 C
1 카세트를 넣고 리모컨의 HOLD 기능이 작동 중
일 때에는 HOLD 스위치를 화살표와 반대 방향
으로 밀어서 컨트롤 스위치류의 로크를 해제하십
시오.
2 리모컨*에서 Y (재생)•x (정지)를 누르고
VOL로 음량을 조절합니다.
음량 조절시 주의
• 본체**의 VOL 스위치는 3단계식으로 되어있습니다.
통상은 중앙에 설정해 놓고 리모컨에서 조절하십시오. 녹음
레벨이 낮을 때에는 최고로 설정하십시오. AVLS(최저)로
설정하면 AVLS가 작동됩니다.(“청각 보호하기—AVLS”
참조)
• 소리를 완전히 낮출 수는 없습니다.
* 리모컨의 Y•x 버튼에는 돌기가 있습니다.

카세트 홀더에 관한 주의
카세트 홀더를 열 때에는 테이프가 정지되어 있는지 확인한 후
에 OPEN 스위치를 밀어 주십시오.
테이프의 주행 중에 카세트 홀더를 열면 테이프가 늘어져서 손
상될 염려가 있습니다.

WARNING
To prevent fire or shock hazard,

apparatus with newspapers, table-cloths, curtains,

apparatus.

objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the
apparatus.
•Treat batteries as toxic waste. Do not dispose with
regular garbage.
Preparations
Rechargeable Battery A
1Insert the supplied rechargeable battery NH-14WM
(A) into the rechargeable battery compartment with
correct polarity.
2Connect the supplied AC power adaptor to the
charging stand, plug in the AC power adaptor to
the house current (mains).
3Place the main unit on the charging stand.
The CHARGE lamp will light up.
About 30 minutes of charging will charge the
battery to last about 3 hours.
Full charging takes about 6 hours.
The CHARGE lamp will go off when charging is
complete.
Note
• Do not use the unit while charging. Remove the unit
from the charging stand when using it.
– If you operate the unit while charging, the battery
will not be charged.
– If you operate the unit while charging, it may cause
malfunction.
– Do not place the unit on the charging stand without
the rechargeable battery. Otherwise, it may cause
malfunction.
Note on the AC power adaptor
Use only the supplied AC power adaptor. Do not use
any other AC power adaptor.
When to charge the battery B
Charge the battery when “e” flashes in the display.
Note
• After the battery is replaced, the setting of the SOUND
and MODE buttons will be erased.
Playing a Tape C
1 Insert a cassette and if the HOLD function of
the remote control is on, slide the HOLD
switch in the opposite direction of the arrow
to unlock the controls.
2 Press Y(play)•x(stop) on the remote
control* and adjust the volume with VOL.
Notes on volume control
• The VOL switch on the main unit** has three steps.
Generally, set it to the center and make fine volume
adjustments on the remote control. Set it to the
maximum when the recording level is low. If set to
AVLS (minimum), AVLS is activated (see “Protecting
Your Hearing —AVLS”).
• The sound cannot be turned down all the way.
* The Y•x button on the remote control has a tactile
dot.
** There is a tactile dot beside the VOL switch on the
main unit to show the direction to turn up the
volume.
Note on the cassette holder
When opening the cassette holder, make sure the tape is
stopped, then slide the OPEN switch.
If the cassette holder is opened when the tape is running,
the tape may loosen and be damaged.

You can operate the tape with the jog lever on the
main unit. If the jog lever is hidden (i.e., on hold),
slide hold shutter in the direction of “V” to release
hold.

Using Other Functions
Adjusting Playback Mode D
You can adjust the playback direction mode (s or
d) as well as the BL SKIP mode (on or off).
Press MODE repeatedly. With each press the
indications change as follows:

•When “BL SKIP” is displayed, the tape is fast-
forwarded to the next track if there is a blank space
of longer than 12 seconds. You will hear repeated
sets of three short beeps when skipping a blank.
•When “s” is displayed, both sides of the tape is
played repeatedly.
•When “d” is displayed, both sides of the tape is
played once (if you start from R (REV) side, only
REV side will be played).
Note
• You cannot adjust the playback mode during fast-
forward or rewind.
Playing a Tape Recorded with the
Dolby* B NR System D
Hold down SOUND until “;” appears in the
display.
To cancel Dolby B NR, hold down SOUND again
until “;” disappears.
* Manufactured under license from Dolby Laboratories.
“Dolby”and the double-D symbol are trademarks of
Dolby Laboratories.
Note
• You cannot turn on/off the Dolby B NR function
during fast-forward or rewind.
Emphasizing Sound D
Press SOUND repeatedly. With each press, the
indications change as follows:
RV (Sound Revitalizer): emphasizes treble sound
MB (Mega Bass): emphasizes bass sound
(moderate effect)
GRV (Groove): emphasizes bass sound
(strong effect)
none: normal (no effect)
Notes
• If the sound is distorted with the mode “GRV”, turn
down the volume of the main unit or select other
modes.
• You cannot change the mode during fast-forward or
rewind.
Protecting Your Hearing — AVLS
(Automatic Volume Limiter System)

Set the VOL switch on the main unit to AVLS.
To cancel the AVLS function
Set the VOL switch of the main unit to the center or
maximum.
Locking the Controls — HOLD
Function D
On the remote control, slide the HOLD switch in the
direction of the arrow to lock the controls.
On the main unit, close the hold shutter so that the
jog lever becomes hidden.
Precautions
On charging
• Remove the AC power adaptor from the wall outlet as soon as
possible after the rechargeable battery has been charged.
Overcharging may damage the rechargeable battery.
• The charging stand and the rechargeable battery may become
warm during charging, but this is not a problem.
• Do not tear off the film on the rechargeable battery.
•Use only the supplied charging stand to charge the supplied
rechargeable battery.
• Be sure not to short-circuit the battery. When you carry it with
you, use the supplied carrying case. If you are not using the
case, do not carry the battery with other metallic objects such as
keys, rings in your pocket.
• If the rechargeable battery is new or has not been used for a
long time, it may not be charged completely until you use it
several times.
On handling
• Do not drop the unit or give a shock to the unit, or it may cause
a malfunction.
• Do not leave the unit in a location near heat sources, or in a
place subject to direct sunlight, excessive dust or sand,
moisture, rain, mechanical shock, or in a car with its windows
closed.
•The LCD display may become hard to see or slow down when
using the unit at high temperatures (above 40˚C/104°F) or at
low temperatures (below 0˚C/32°F). At room temperature, the
display will return to its normal operating condition.
•We do not recommend the use of tape longer than 90 minutes.
They are very thin and tend to be stretched easily. This may
cause malfunction of the unit or sound deterioration.
• If the unit has not been used for a long period of time, set it in
the playback mode to warm it up for a few minutes before you
start using again.
On the remote control
Use the supplied remote control only with this unit.
On headphones/earphones
Road safety
Do not use headphones/earphones while driving, cycling, or
operating any motorized vehicle. It may create a traffic hazard
and is illegal in some areas. It can also be potentially dangerous
to play your headphones/earphones at high volume while
walking, especially at pedestrian crossings.
You should exercise extreme caution or discontinue use in
potentially hazardous situations.
Preventing hearing damage
Do not use headphones/earphones at high volume. Hearing
experts advise against continuous, loud and extended play. If you
experience a ringing in your ears, reduce volume or discontinue
use.
Caring for others
Keep the volume to a moderate level. This will allow you to hear
outside sounds and to be considerate to the people around you.
On maintenance
• Clean the tape head and tape path, using a cotton swab and
commercially available cleaning solvent after every 10 hours of
use.
•To clean the exterior, use a soft cloth slightly moistened in
water. Do not use alcohol, benzine or thinner.
• Clean the headphones/earphones and remote control plugs
periodically.
Troubleshooting
The BL SKIP, AMS, or the Repeat Single Track
function does not operate properly.
• Charge the rechargeable battery.
The unit does not operate at all.
• HOLD is activated. Deactivate HOLD.
• Charge the rechargeable battery.
The volume cannot be turned up.
• If AVLS is on, turn it off by setting the VOL switch on
the main unit to the center or maximum.
The tape fast forwards by itself during playback.
• BL SKIP is activated. Deactivate BL SKIP.
The display and the operations are not normal.
• Remove the power sources for 15 seconds or more, and
then set them again.

사용상의 주의
충전에 대하여
• 충전식 배터리의 충전이 끝나면 가급적 빨리 콘센트에서 AC 전원 어
댑터를 빼 주십시오. 과충전하면 충전식 배터리가 손상될 염려가 있습
니다.
• 충전 스탠드와 충전식 배터리는 충전 중에 뜨거워지지만 이것은 고장
이 아닙니다.
• 충전식 배터리 표면의 필름은 뜯지 마십시오.
• 부속된 충전식 배터리를 충전할 때에는 반드시 부속된 충전 스탠드를
사용하여 주십시오.
• 배터리를 단락시키지 마십시오. 휴대할 때에는 부속된 휴대용 케이스
를 사용하십시오. 케이스를 사용하지 않을 때에는 주머니에 키와 같은

취급에 대하여

• 본기를 열원 근처나 직사광선, 과도한 먼지나 모래, 습기, 빗물, 기계적

• 고온(40˚C 이상) 또는 저온(0˚C 이하)에서 본기를 사용하면 LCD 화

• 90분을 초과하는 테이프는 사용하지 마십시오. 이 테이프는 매우 얇게

교통 안전
자전거, 오토바이, 자동차 등의 운전 중에는 헤드폰/이어폰을 사용하지
마십시오. 교통 사고를 일으킬 수 있으며 일부 지역에서는 불법입니다.
특히 횡단보도에서는 보행 중에도 헤드폰/이어폰을 사용하면 위험합니
다. 사고가 날 가능성이 있는 상황에서는 주의를 게을리하지 말아야 합
니다.
청력 저하를 방지하기 위하여
음량을 높인 상태에서 헤드폰/이어폰을 사용하지 마십시오. 청각 전문
가는 연속적이고, 큰 소리로 오랫동안 재생하여 듣지 말 것을 권고합니
다. 귀울림이 있을 때에는 음량을 낮추거나 사용을 중지 하십시오.
다른 사람들에 대한 배려
음량을 적당한 레벨로 유지하십시오. 이렇게 하면 외부의 음을 들을 수
있고 주변의 사람께도 폐를 끼치지 않게 됩니다.
