Installing the Beater
1.
Loosen the square-headed bolt of the beater
holder using a drum key.
2.
Insert the beater shaft and tighten the square-
headed bolt to secure it.
* The beater head has two sides, felt and nylon. Use the
nylon side for mesh head (KD-120, KD-80). The felt
side is recommended for KD-8 for more silence.
Attaching the Pedal Unit
The pedal unit is attached to the kick trigger.
For details on how to attach the pedal unit,
refer to the owner’s manual for your kick
trigger.
Adjusting the Beater Angle
The angle of the beater can be adjusted along
with the angle of the footboard by loosening the
square-headed bolt on top of the rocker cam.
You may test the gradations of the Angle
memory cap, attached to the end of the shaft, by
adjusting it a bit at a time.
Once the desired angle is reached, tighten the
bolt firmly to secure it.
Adjusting the Spring
1.
Hang the spring on the roller of the rocker
cam.
2.
Adjust the spring tension using the nut on the
lower end.
When adjusting the spring, first loosen the lock
nut (Fig. 1), and then turn the adjusting nut while
pressing down on the lock nut as in Fig. 2.
Tightening the nut makes the pedal’s resistance
heavier, but the beater’s return time is
correspondingly faster.
In order to prevent the spring from loosening
while playing, the adjusting nut engages the cap
attached to the unit roughly every 1/3 of a turn.
3.
Once the desired tension is reached, secure it by
tightening the lock nut as in Fig. 3.
