GDM-3250 Installation Guide
This installation guide is for users who install/control GDM-3250. Installing GDM-3250 requires knowledge of
wired/wireless LAN, expertise on network settings for communication devices and computers, and skills to use the
Web browser.

Do not touch the wireless LAN antenna connection terminal.GDM-3250’s
wireless function may be damaged due to static electricity. Insert the wireless LAN
antenna to protect the wireless LAN antenna connection terminal even when the wireless LAN antenna is
not used.

Insert two antennas (accessary) to the antenna connector. Fasten/Fix the antennas with a torque
wrench.
・Coupling tightening torque:
0.6 to
1.0 [N・m]
・Insert the antenna vertically as the picture shows below, and rotates only the nut to fix. Do not rotate the
antenna to avoid disconnection.

Plug the cable to the connector of GDM-3250.
The following default values are for SSID, the pre-shared key and IP
address of the wireless LAN.

6. 0 (the smart wireless setting used)
GDM-3250 has two ways of connection: wireless and wired LAN.
Use the web browser to configure GDM-3250 or monitor the video.
*See the back of the installation guide to use the wired LAN to connect.
When the wireless LAN is used to connect with GDM-3250, there are two ways of
connection. One is to use the smart wireless setting and the other is to specify SSID.
Configure wireless LAN devices through DHCP to establish connection. Turn the
power of GDM-3250 on, and check that the LEDs of POWER and CAMERA light
green before wireless LAN connection.

Do not place something heavy on GDM-3250. It may fall down because of
off-the balance, and hurt the user.
Install GDM-3250 considering safety when it is installed in places with a
lot of vibration, on unstable foundation and on inclined plane.
Do not place GDM-3250 on the following places. It may cause fire, electric
shocks or breakdown.
・Near fire
・Places where acid gasses, alkaline gasses, or water vapor are
generated.
・Near magnetic devices.
・Do not install GDM-3250 in places where it is exposed to drastic
temperature changes.

This Installation Guide is created based on regular usage. GDM-3250
works properly under stipulated anti-dust, waterproof, operation
temperature, vibration conditions. Please ask a place of purchase for more
details about environments and conditions.
When the wireless connection is done successfully, the LAN LED lights
green, and then turns off. After that the state of LAN will be shown.

7 When the following window appears, press the push switch for five to
ten seconds, and then release the switch.

- When the POWER LED lights orange, release the push switch.
- The LAN LED lights green and orange alternately while the smart
wireless setting is activated.

4 The following window appears and the connection starts.

Some computers cannot connect to GDM-3250 even though the user presses the push
switch. In that case, enter PreSharedKey in the input key box manually to connect
with GDM-3250.
■ For Android 6.0 (connection with smart wireless settings)

SSID: GDM + the last 6 digits of MAC address
Pre-shared key: PreSharedKey
IP address: 192.168.2.10

The following steps are for Windows 10 and Android 6.0. See OS help for other
OS.
■ For Windows 10 (connection with the smart wireless setting)
1 Click the network icon on the task tray.
2. Select SSID of GDM-3250 from the network list and click [Connect].
3 When the following window appears, press the push switch of GDM-3250 for
five to ten seconds, and then release the switch.
- When the POWER LED lights orange, release the push switch.
- The LAN LED flashes in green and orange alternately when the smart wireless
setting is activated.

When the wireless connection is established successfully, the LAN LED lights
green, and then turns off. After that the status of LAN will be shown.

■ For Windows 10 (SSID is specified to connect).
1 Click the network icon on the task tray.
2 Select SSID of GDM-3250 from the network list and click [Connect].
3 Enter PreSharedKey in the network security key box and click Next.

6 When the setting is completed, [Connected] is shown along with SSID.

Use a web browser to access GDM-3250
1 Start the web browser and access the following URL.
http://192.168.2.10
2 The camera image page is shown. (No image is shown when a camera is
not connected.)
3 Besides the camera image and the status, the authentication window is
shown. Enter the following user name. No need to enter the password.
User name: root
Password: None

Do not place containers with water or liquid, metals including metallic
pieces or metal clips, or oils. When the inside of GDM-3250 is exposed to
liquid such as water and metals, it may cause fire, electric shocks, or
breakdown. If it happens, unplug the connecter right away.
Do not install GDM-3250 by flammable solvent such as alcohol and
thinner. When flammable solver contacts the electric parts of GDM-3250,
it may cause fire or electric shocks.

■SW (Push Switch)
Press the button or hold down the button to select the smart wireless
setting mode or the setting values initialization mode. See Push Switch in
the Instruction Manual for more details.
The installation guide is for users who install/maintain GDM-3250. Configuring GDM-
3250 requires knowledge of wired/wireless LAN, expertise on network settings for
communication devices and computers, and skills to use a Web browser.

Notes
Do not touch the wireless LAN antenna connection terminal. GDM-3250’s wireless
function may be damaged due to static electricity. Connect the wireless LAN
antenna to protect the wireless LAN antenna connection terminal even when the
wireless LAN antenna is not used.
Attach two antennas (accessary) to the antenna connectors. Fasten/Fix the
antennas with a torque wrench.
- Coupling tightening torque: 0.6 to 1.0 [N.m]
- Attach the antenna vertically as the picture shows below and rotates only the
nut to fix. DO not rotate the antenna to avoid breaking of wire.
Plug the cable to the connector of GDM-3250
Press the button of router’s Wi-Fi Protected Setup button. The button is
shown as WPS or the following symbol.

The server 192.168.120 requests the user name and
password. The server report says that it is a request from
GDM-3250.
Warning: The user name and password are sent using the
basic authentication under the connection with non-
security protection.

Connection over wired LAN requires the following items.
Prepare them beforehand.
- A computer to use for configuration
- Network cables
- Ethernet hub

When there is an Ethernet hub with vacant LAN ports under the network
environment, GDM-3250 can be connected with the vacant LAN port. In
that case, an Ethernet hub is not needed to be newly prepared.
The following value are the default value of IP address for the wired LAN.
IP address: 192.168.1.10
■Use a network cable to connect GDM-3250
1. Plug the network cable in the Ethernet hub to connect GDM-3250
and a setup PC.

2. Power on GDM-3250 and the PC.
3. Update the PC’s network settings to communicate with GDM-3250.

How to Access GDM-3250
Use a web browser to access GDM-3250
1 Start the web browser and access the following URL.
http://192.168.1.10
2 The camera image page is shown. (No image is shown when a camera is
not connected.)
3 Besides the camera image and the status, the authentication window is
shown. Enter the following user name. No need to enter the password.

When the camera image is not shown
with Microsoft Internet Explorer
(hereafter IE), select Compatibility
view settings from the tool bar.
Uncheck the box of Display the
intranet site in the compatibility view
mode, and then restart IE.

GDM-3250 is equipped with the Instruction Manual. Click the link of Instruction Manual
after accessing GDM-3250.
The Instruction Manual is saved in the PDF file format. Adobe Reader must be installed
in the user’s computer to monitor/print the PDF. Adobe Reader can be downloaded from
Adobe’s website.

■ To use GDM-3250 safely
Read through Safety Usage to use GDM-3250 safely before use.
■Ventilation
Use GDM-3250 in well-ventilated places. New electric devices are likely to emit
volatile substances in a room, ventilate the room well especially for the several days
after GDM-3250 is installed.
■ Power and Cables
Use specified power voltage. If not, it may cause fire or electric shocks.
Do not plug or unplug the power of GDM-3250 with wet hands. It may cause
electric shocks.
Do not harm or damage the cable. Do not put something heavy on the cable, tuck,
forcefully bend, twist or pull the cable. It may damage the cable, and cause fire or
electric shocks. When the cable gets damaged, (e.g. exposure of the core lines or
disconnection) make sure of exchanging the cable. If the cable remains using, it
may cause fire or electric shocks.
Do not band or tie the cable. It may cause fire or electric shocks.
Do not place the cable near thermal appliances. The coating of cable may be melt
and the cable causes fire or electric shocks.
Unplug the cable while holding the connector. If the cable is pulled, it may cause
damage the cable, fire or electric shocks.
Do not put anything around the cable. Do not put anything around the connector,
so that the cable can be easily unplugged. If not, the connector plug cannot be out
of the socket in case of emergency.

■ Product Handling
`Warning
` Do not drop metal pieces or insert foreign materials in GDM-3250. Do not
pour liquid such as water. If it happens, unplug the power cable of GDM-
3250 immediately.
When liquid such as liquid detergents is used to clean the floor or wall,
make sure that water does not drop on the connection code or the power
cable. If it happens, wipe out with a dry cloth. If not, it may cause fire or
electric shocks.
Do not operate GDM-3250 under non-stated conditions. It may cause
unexpected accidents or breakdown.
Do not drop GDM-3250 or give big impact. It may be browken.
Do not touch GDM-3250 for many hours. When the user touches heated
parts of GDM-3250 directly, it may cause low temperature burn.
■Prohibited diassembling or remodeling
Do not disassemble or remodel GDM-3250.
Non-technical experts are not allowed to disassemble or fix GDM-3250,
because it may cause fire or electric shocks. Disassembling or remodeling is
prohibited under the law. If GDM-3250 is reassembled, it will not be covered
under warranty.
■In Case of Emergency
Unplug the connector when the following abnormal operation occurs.
- GDM-3250 is in flames.
- The enclosure is extremely hot.
- Abnormal sounds come from GDM-3250.
- Bad smell comes from GDM-3250.
If GDM-3250 is damaged, unplug the connector. If the user continues to
use, it may cause fire or electric shocks.
■Others
This model is an approved device for Japan. silex technology does not provide
maintenance or technical support services except for Japan.
GDM-3250 includes parts, technology or software which are the subject of
Japan and US export regulation laws. GDM-3250 or some of GDM-3250 is not
allowed to be exported to countries, people or institutions which are the
subject of restrictions based on both countries export’s regulation law.
The enclosure and specifications are subject to change without notice.
Data guarantee
When data in GDM-3250 is lost or damaged, the data restoring is not
guaranteed. Make sure of making a backup in a regular basis just in case of
breakdown or an emergency.
Antenna installment
Hold the antenna and rotate the nut parts of the antenna to install it.
Antenna connection terminal
Do not touch the antenna connection terminal of GDM-3250. Static electricity
may damage the wireless function of GDM-3250.
GDM-3250 is categorized as a class A device. If this device is used in housing
environments, it may cause radio interference. In that case, the user is
required to take appropriate measures.
