AVerMedia Capture Studio User Manual
The display screen is divided into 4 areas: 1. Functional Area, 2. the Device List, 3. Main
Window Area, and 4. Status Bar.
1. Functional Area
Settings of device are defined by using the selections of Source,
Video Resolution.
1.1 Device
Click Device, green check appears, to Start Streaming. Click the button again, red
cross appears, to alter the function to Stop Streaming. The pull-down menu of Device
is shown in the image above at the left. Click Enable All Devices to activate all cards; click
Disable All Devices to deactivate all cards.
Click Settings to display or hide the Device List area.
Select the cross symbol at the upper right corner to close
the Device List area. To show the Device List area, click Settings.

1.2 Record
The Record has three states:
1. Cards disabled or during image capture,
displaying gray color of inactive state.
2. Cards enabled but not recording
(Not functioning during image capture)→
3. Cards recording→
The pull-down menu of Record is shown in the image above at the right for setting recording
time：
Customize: The function allows users to define preferable duration from 5s (minimum) to
99h59m59s (maximum).
Unlimited: The setting allows recording to continue until it is manually terminated.
All Active Devices: When Record is clicked, all cards in Preview state begin recording (the
settings of each card is its last saved settings, and settings can be different among cards).
To stop recording will stop all cards that perform recording.
1.3 Record - profile
When there is no user defined settings, profile has 4 default
configurations for every recording: AVI, WMV, MPG, and MP4.
When one of these four configurations is chosen, the default
recording settings will be used during the recording process.

Profile
can be customized and each configuration has its own
profile
name. Once
profile
is
configured and saved, there is no need to configure next time.
1.4 Record - Settings
To configure or view profile, click Settings. In the Settings window,
select a profile and the list below will display relevant information
of the encoder used by this profile.

1. Browse: Select the path to save the recording file. If a valid path, which is manually
entered, does not exist, the path with multiple layers of directory can be created.
2. File Naming: Click Edit to edit the naming rules of recording file.
3. New: To create a new profile, click New.
4. Edit: To edit the selected profile, click Edit in the selection box.
5. Delete: To delete the selected profile, click Delete in the selection box.

※ The pop-up windows of New and Edit are similar, as shown in the image above. All
the video/audio encoder and supported parameters that can be configured in the
apparatus are enumerated within the window (For the WMV format, the selection box
of Audio Encoder appears to be encoders supported by the Video Encoder software.
Currently, Audio Encoder only supports CBR.)
6. Default: Click the Default button to display the default parameter settings of the selected
file format. During the course of recording, error messages will appear if the selected
encoder does not exist. Since the selected encoder does not exist, once enter the profile
Edit screen, choose the first default value as the first option from the selection box.
7. Smart Fit: By selecting Smart Fit, the parameter will be configured internally by Capture
Studio.
8. Save：Click Save to save or update the profile and the saved profile will be displayed in
the selection box.
1.5 Capture Image
Capture Single: click Capture Single to capture a single
image.
Capture Multiple: click Capture Multiple to capture
multiple images.
The Capture Multiple has a pull-down menu:
In the Settings window, the number of images per second and time of capture can be
defined.
Select Unlimited to continue capturing images until the process is terminated
manually.
If user does not select, he can define preferable duration from 5s (minimum) to
99h59m59s (maximum).

Currently, the available formats of saved images supported by the system are JPG,
BMP, BNG, and TIFF.

1.6 Capture Image - Settings
Click Settings to set up save path for image.
If it is a valid
path, the path with multiple layers of directory can be
created.
The naming format of the captured image is DeviceIndex_CaptureStudioTime_index. For
example, the name of the first and second captured images will be as follows:

※ As recording and continuous image capture progress, AP will periodically and automatically
check the remaining space of the disk partition where image files are saved. When the
system detects that the remaining space of the disk partition, where the operating system
resides, is less than 300Mb, AP will prompt a pop-up message to remind the users of
insufficient disk space. When the remaining space of aforementioned disk partition is less
than 200Mb, AP will automatically stop the operations of recording and image capture.
When other disk partitions, with no the operating system residing on, used for saving files
are less than 200Mb, AP will prompt a pop-up message to remind the users of insufficient
disk space. When the remaining space of the disk partition is less than 100Mb, AP will
automatically stop the operations of recording and image capture.
Currently, Video Quality only supports the settings of Deinterlace format.
1.8 Display Options
Click Full Screen to display image at full size.
Double click the main window can also display full screen.
Press [Esc] or double click the main window again to exit
from full screen.
Click Split Video to display videos of all cards of the apparatus.
Select Keep Aspect Ratio to display with a fixed aspect ratio.
Select Stretch to display at full screen by stretching the video image.
※ When background of Split Video is highlighted, click any box window then the box window
will display a red rectangle as focus to mark the currently selected card. The sound of the
selected card can be heard as well.
※ Click Split Video again, the video of the selected card displays individually.

2. Device List
Device List mainly displays all capture cards of AVerMedia in the apparatus. Background color
of the list button corresponding to the selected card is darkened. Use Device List to choose a
currently selected capture card.
3. Main Window Area
Main Window Area displays the video image.
Split Video mode can display videos of all cards of the apparatus. The sound can be heard
is the box window with a red rectangle as Focus.
The video of the currently selected capture card is marked by a red rectangle. To switch the
selected card can be done in the main window area.
Only the video of selected card will be displayed when not in Split Video mode.
4. Status Bar
Status Bar displays information: name of the currently selected card; state of the currently
selected card: activated or inactive, preview, record, capture, or a combination thereof, such
as preview record. If the file is saved with high-bandwidth digital content protection (HDCP),
Status Bar will indicate that the content of the program is protected.
AVerMedia Capture Studio comes with a memory function and can store all information,
among which some configurations are commonly shared by all cards, of the capture card
when it is last operated.

These aforementioned four conditions remain unchanged even when the selection is switched
to different cards.
※ Every time when Capture Studio is used, the card in the same location, which is selected
when AP is terminated last, will be chosen. When the selection exceeds the position, the first
card is chosen by default.
※ If a card, which is operated last, has been activated already, the card remains activated when
it is chosen.

录制和连续抓图时 AP 每间隔一段时间会自动去侦测档案所在分区磁盘剩余空间大小，
若为系统分区则当剩余空间不足 300MB 时 AP 会弹出提示框提醒用户磁盘空间不足，
当剩余空间不足 200MB 时 AP 会自动停止录制和抓图动作；若为其它分区则当剩余空
间不足 200MB 时 AP 会弹出提示框提醒用户磁盘空间不足，当剩余空间不足 100MB 时

2. 采集卡清单：
采集卡清单主要显示机器中所有的 AVerMedia 的采集卡，当前选中的卡所对应的清
单按钮背景色加深，可通过采集卡清单选择当前选中的采集卡。
3. 主窗口区：
主窗口区主要显示视频画面。
如果在多屏显示状态下会显示所有卡的视频画面但只能听到当前选中的采集卡采
集到的声音。
当前选中的采集卡视频会用红色矩形圈出。可在主窗口区切换当前选中卡。
未在多屏显示模式下即只显示选中卡的视频。
4. 状态栏：
状态栏显示信息为当前选中卡的名称,当前选中卡的状态：是否启动或预览或录制或
抓图或其中的组合比如预览_录制。如果流存在 HDCP 保护，状态栏也会显示相关信
息（此视频受到保护）。
◎ AVerMedia Capture Studio 有记忆功能，可以记住某张采集卡最后一次被操作的几
乎所有信息，有一些设置是所有卡共用的，如下：
采集卡清单的状态：显示，隐藏还是停靠
是否以多屏显示状态显示
是否选择录制下拉菜单的选项-所有启动的卡
所有启动的卡所有启动的卡
所有启动的卡
是否显示固定比例。
这四项在当前选择卡上发生变化时切换到其它的卡都是相同现象。
※
每次打开 AVerMedia Capture Studio 时，会显示上次关闭 AP 时选择的相同位
置的卡，如果超过了此位置，会默认选择第一张卡。

如果最后一次操作卡已经被启动了，下次打开此卡时还是启动状态。

※ 預設的四個配置是不可以被删除的，對於預設的配置，除了檔案名稱和檔案格式不可被更

※ 錄影的时候如果所選的編碼不存在都會彈出錯誤的提示訊息。由於此配置所設定的編碼器
不存在，系統會自動在編碼選項中選取第一個為編碼格式。

點選右圖中的設置，可設定擷圖存檔的路徑，如果輸入
的有效路徑不存在，可另外新增。
擷 取 下 來 的 圖 檔 命 名 格 式 為 DeviceIndex_CaptureStudioTime_index. 前 面 的
DeviceIndex 從 1 開始編列，後端的 Index 為擷圖 Index，則從 0 開始編列。

錄影和連續擷圖時 AP 每間隔一段時間會自動去檢視檔案所在的磁碟剩餘空間，若系统磁碟
分割區的空間不足 300MB 時，AP 會彈出提示訊息提醒使用者磁碟空間不足。若空間不足
200MB 時，AP 會自動停止錄影和擷圖動作。
若為其它磁碟分割區的空間不足 200MB 時，AP 會彈出提示訊息提醒使用者磁碟空間不足，
而當空間不足 100MB 時 AP 會自動停止錄影和擷圖動作。
影像畫質目前只支援設定 Deinterlace 模式。

影像畫面。
未在分割畫面顯示模式下只會顯示所選的擷取卡影像。

狀態列會顯示所選的擷取卡名稱、狀態：是否啟動 或預覽或錄製或擷圖或其中的組合比
如 預覽_錄製. 若該影像有 HDCP 保護，狀態列也會顯示相關訊息（此影片內容受到保
護）。
◎ AVerMedia Capture Studio 有記憶功能，可以記住某張擷取卡最後一次的設定資料，
有一些設定是所有擷取卡共用的，如下：
擷取卡列表的狀態：顯示還是隐藏。
是否以分割畫面顯示狀態顯示。
是否選擇錄製清單下拉的 “所有啟動的卡”項目。
是否保持顯示比例。
即使切換到其它的擷取卡，也不會變動這四項設定。
※ 每次開啟 AVerMedia Capture Studio 時，會顯示上次關閉 AP 時選擇相同位置的擷取
卡，若搜尋不到該擷取卡，會自動選擇第一張擷取卡。
※ 若最後一次使用的擷取卡已經被啟動了，下次開啟此擷取卡時就還會是啟動的狀態。
