- Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid. Do not rinse
it with running water, except for the parts that can be removed and
rinsed according to the instructions.
- Never use the appliance near ammable or toxic substances.
- Do not vacuum up any liquid, ammable material or sharp objects,
such as needles or pins.
Warning
- Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to the local
mains voltage before you connect the appliance.
- Do not use the appliance if the appliance or its cord is damaged.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of
experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for
their safety.
- Care must be taken to ensure that children do not play with the
appliance.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of the reach of children.
- The plug must be removed from the socket-outlet before cleaning or

- This appliance contains a UV emitter. Do not stare at the light source

examination or repair. Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself,
otherwise the guarantee becomes invalid.
- If the mains cord is damaged, you must have it replaced by Philips,
a service centre authorised by Philips or similarly qualied persons in
order to avoid a hazard.
- Do not open the appliance and do not connect the appliance to the
mains when its housing is damaged or open.
Caution
- Always switch off and unplug the appliance after use and before
removing the dust container or cleaning the appliance.
- Do not use the appliance if you are highly sensitive to sunlight or bright light.
- Never block the exhaust air openings or the vacuum inlet.
- Always use the appliance with the dust compartment and the lter unit
assembled.
- Do not use a sharp object to clean the HEPA lter, as this damages
the lter.
- Avoid placing your hands on or near the exhaust openings during use.
The exhaust air emitted by the appliance can be hot.
- Do not touch the tapping feet when the tapping mode is active.
- Do not use the appliance on hard oors or furniture in tapping mode.
- Stop using the appliance when smoke, an unusual smell or an unusual
sound is coming out of the appliance. Unplug the appliance immediately
and contact the Philips Customer Care Centre.

The dust container
may be full or the

dirty. This causes the
motor to become
too hot, which
triggers the overheat
protection of the
motor.
Unplug the appliance and empty
the dust container. Clean the lter
unit. If the appliance switches off
again when you connect it to
the mains and switch it on again,
replace the HEPA lter. If this
does not solve the issue and the
appliance stops vacuuming again
and again, please contact the Philips
Consumer Care Centre.
You may have
used the vacuum
mode for more
than 30 minutes.
This triggered the
overheat protection
of the motor.
When the motor gets overheated
because the appliance was used
longer than 30 minutes, you have
to wait 2 hours to let the appliance
cool down.
The suction
power
decreased
suddenly.
The dust container is
full, the lter is dirty
or if the vacuum
inlet is blocked.
Unplug the appliance. Empty the
dust container and clean the lter.
If the vacuum inlet is dirty, use the
brush to clean it.
The lamp is
not always
on or goes
on and off
from time to
time.
If you use the
appliance on a dark
surface, the response
time of the sensor is
longer.
The UV lamp is controlled by
a sensor in the bottom of the
appliance. This sensor ensures
that the lamp goes out when the
appliance is 5cm off the surface or
the surface is very dark.
The lamp goes on
and off as you move
the appliance over
different colours and
materials.
