Note: The availability of the
Recycling
- Do not throw away the product
with the normal household waste
at the end of its life, but hand it in
recycling. By doing this, you help
to preserve the environment.
- This product contains a built-in
rechargeable battery which shall
not be disposed of with normal
household waste. We strongly
advise you to take your product to
Philips service centre to have a
professional remove the
rechargeable battery.
- Follow your country’s rules for the
separate collection of electrical
and electronic products and
rechargeable batteries. Correct
disposal helps prevent negative
consequences for the
environment and human health.
Removing the
rechargeable shaver
battery
Only remove the rechargeable
battery when you discard the
shaver. Before you remove the
battery, make sure that the
shaver is disconnected from the
wall socket and that the battery is
completely empty.
Take any necessary safety
precautions when you handle
tools to open the shaver and
when you dispose of the
rechargeable battery.
1 Undo the screw in the back panel
of the shaver with a screwdriver
(Fig. 21) and remove the back
panel (Fig. 22).
2 Bend the hooks aside and remove
the power unit (Fig. 23).
3 Break the snap hooks and remove
the front panel of the power unit
(Fig. 24).
4 Take out the battery holder (Fig.
25) and cut the battery tags with a
pair of cutting pliers (Fig. 26).
5 Remove the rechargeable battery.

guards) are not covered by the terms
of the international warranty because
they are subject to wear.
Cleaning the shaving unit

2 Rinse the shaving unit under a hot
tap for some time (Fig. 5).
Note: You can also clean the
shaving unit with the cleaning
brush supplied
3 After rinsing the appliance under
the tap, hold it upright for 10-15
seconds to allow water to run out
of the bottom.
4 Press the release buttons on the
shaving unit (Fig. 6) and pull the
shaving unit (Fig. 7).
5 Rinse the shaving head holder
under a hot tap for 30 seconds
(Fig. 8).
Note: You can also clean the
shaving head holder with the
cleaning brush supplied.

7 Reattach the shaving head holder
to the shaving unit (‘click’) (Fig. 9).
Storage
We advise you to let the appliance
dry before you store it.
1 Put the protection cap on the
shaver to prevent damage and to
avoid dirt accumulation in the
shaving heads (Fig. 19).
Replacement
For maximum shaving performance,
we advise you to replace the shaving
heads every two years (Fig. 20).
Replace damaged shaving heads
immediately. Always replace the
shaving heads with original Philips
shaving heads (see 'Ordering
accessories').

2 Press the release buttons on the
shaving unit (Fig. 6) and pull the
shaving unit (Fig. 7).
3 To unlock the retaining ring, turn it
in the direction of the arrows
indicated in and on the retaining
ring (Fig. 10).
4 Lift the retaining ring out of the
shaving head holder (Fig. 11).
5 Remove the shaving heads and
place new ones in the shaving
head holder.
Make sure the two wings of the
recesses.
6 Place the retaining ring back onto
the shaving head holder. To
reattach the retaining ring, turn it
against the direction of the arrows
indicated in and on the retaining
ring (Fig. 16).
Make sure the retaining ring is
the retaining ring have to be
located exactly under the
recesses of the shaving head
holder (Fig. 18).
7 Reattach the shaving head holder
to the shaving unit (‘click’) (Fig. 9).
If the shaving unit does not close
smoothly, check if you have
positioned the shaving heads
properly and if the retaining rings
Charging
It takes approx. 10 hours to fully
charge the battery.
A fully charged shaver provides up to
20 shaving minutes.
If you have a heavy beard, the shaver
may provide less than 20 shaving
minutes. The number of shaving
minutes may also vary over time,
depending on your shaving
behaviour, cleaning habits and beard
type.
Charging with the supply unit
Do not charge the shaver in the
packaging.

2 Put the small plug in the shaver.
3 Put the supply unit in the wall
socket.
The light on the supply unit lights
up to show that the shaver is
charging.
Note: The light on the supply unit
does not change color and does
not go out when the shaver is fully
charged.
Using the appliance
Note: You can use this shaver while it
is connected to the mains. However,
it does not operate from the mains
when the battery is empty. In this
least 1 hour.
Skin adaptation period
the result you expect and your skin
may even become slightly irritated.
This is normal. Your skin and beard
need time to adapt to any new
shaving system. To allow your skin to
adapt to this new appliance, we
advise you to shave regularly (at
least 3 times a week) and exclusively
with this appliance for a period of 3
weeks.

Cleaning and maintenance
Never use scouring pads, abrasive
cleaning agents or aggressive liquids
such as petrol or acetone to clean
the appliance.
Warning: Be careful with hot water.
Always check if the water is not too
hot, to prevent your hands from
getting burnt.
Never dry the shaving head holder
with a towel or tissue, as this may
damage the shaving heads.
- Clean the shaver after every
shave.
- Clean the shaving heads
frequently with Philips Shaving
Head Cleaning Spray (HQ110) for
optimal shaving performance.
- You can clean the outside of the
shaver with a damp cloth. Do not
clean the shaving unit with a
cloth.
- Always check the appliance
before you use it. Do not use the
appliance if it is damaged, as this
may cause injury. Always replace
a damaged part with one of the
original type.
- Do not open the appliance to
replace the rechargeable battery.
Caution
- Never immerse the cleaning
system or the charging stand in
water and do not rinse it under
the tap (Fig. 2).
- Never immerse the shaver in
water. Do not use the shaver in
the bath or in the shower.
- Never use water hotter than 60°C
to rinse the shaver.
- Only use this appliance for its
intended purpose as shown in the
user manual.
- For hygienic reasons, the
appliance should only be used by
one person.
- Never use compressed air,
scouring pads, abrasive cleaning
agents or aggressive liquids such
as petrol or acetone to clean the
appliance.
- If your shaver comes with a
cleaning system, always use the
(cartridge or bottle, depending on
the type of cleaning system).
- Always place the cleaning system
on a stable, level and horizontal
surface to prevent leakage.
- If your cleaning system uses a
cleaning cartridge, always make
sure the cartridge compartment is
closed before you use the
cleaning system to clean or
charge the shaver.
- When the cleaning system is
ready for use, do not move it to
- Water may drip from the socket at
the bottom of the shaver when
you rinse it. This is normal and not
dangerous because all electronics
are enclosed in a sealed power
unit inside the shaver.
- Do not use the supply unit in or
near wall sockets that contain an
electric air freshener to prevent
irreparable damage to the supply
unit.
- This Philips appliance complies
with all applicable standards and
